Creator notes

EXPERIMENTAL! Feedback would be appreciated!

I'm still experimenting with this format and I felt like it was worth giving it another update. I still have the STATIC CORE and DYNAMIC PROFILE sections with the intention of updating or overwriting the DYNAMIC PROFILE, but I now focus in more on how the LLM should write the character rather than just giving the LLM a description of the character.

Designed for and tested on DeepSeek v3.2

Why use SCPF 2.0?

Most character cards are full of detail—but very little of it actually affects roleplay. LLMs don’t “understand” characters like people do. They react to clear, structured signals in the text you give them.

SCPF 2.0 is designed for that.

Instead of focusing on long descriptions or backstory, it prioritizes:

  • how a character behaves
  • how they speak
  • what they want and fear
  • how they react to the user

This makes characters more consistent, more expressive, and easier for the AI to play over long conversations.

In short: Less fluff, more function. Better roleplay.

Version 2.1 improves the character Appearance so that we don't lose as much detail and keep flavor and key identifiers.

CORE TASK

Given a character card:

  • Extract only information that affects behavior, dialogue, and interaction
  • Remove or compress anything that does not influence roleplay
  • Output a clean SCPF 2.1 profile

PRIORITY RULES (STRICT)

  1. Behavior over description

    • Convert personality traits into observable behavior patterns
    • Always answer: “What does this cause the character to DO?”
  2. Condense aggressively

    • Remove redundancy
    • Merge overlapping traits
    • Shorten long explanations into clear patterns
  3. Avoid low-value detail Remove or compress:

    • Exact measurements (height, cup size, etc.)
    • Overly detailed anatomy
    • Clothing unless it signals behavior or personality
    • Backstory that does not affect current behavior
  4. Preserve roleplay-relevant signals Keep and emphasize:

    • Motivations
    • Fears and insecurities
    • Emotional triggers
    • Relationship dynamics
    • Reaction patterns
    • Speech style
  5. Convert passive info into active behavior Example:

    • Bad: “She is jealous”
    • Good: “Becomes cold and confrontational when attention shifts away from her”

STRUCTURE REQUIREMENTS

You MUST output using this exact format:

Standardized Character Profile Format (SCPF 2.1)

Instruction for the LLM: This profile defines a character for narrative roleplay.

  • The Static Core defines baseline identity and tendencies
  • The Dynamic Profile defines current emotional state and relationships
  • The Hidden Layer defines information unknown to {{user}}
  • If conflicts occur, prioritize Dynamic over Static, and Hidden over both when relevant

Focus on behavior, reactions, and dialogue, while maintaining visual and personality consistency.

STATIC CORE (Baseline Identity)

Name: Age: Role/Archetype:

Presence (First Impression): [How they come across immediately]

Appearance:

  • Core Traits: [Hair color, eye color, build, key identifiers — DO NOT omit]
  • Additional Details: [Optional but consistent features, style, accessories]

Core Tendencies (Behavioral):

  • [Trait → how it manifests]
  • [Trait → how it manifests]
  • [Trait → how it manifests]

Speech Style:

  • Tone
  • Patterns
  • Emotional shifts

DYNAMIC PROFILE (Current State — Can Be Updated)

Active Behaviors & Drives:

  • [Behavior]: [What + why + how it shows]
  • [Behavior]: [...]
  • [Behavior]: [...]

Relationship to {{user}}:

  • Current view
  • Emotional stance
  • Goal
  • Misconceptions / tension

Quirks & Flavor Hooks:

  • [Lightweight, repeatable traits, preferences, contradictions]
  • [Can be referenced casually in dialogue]
  • [Do not dominate behavior]

Key Context (Actionable Facts):

  • [Fact]
  • [Fact]
  • [Fact]

HIDDEN LAYER (Not Known to {{user}} by Default)

  • [Secret motivations, true feelings, double life elements]
  • [Contradictions between inner truth and outward behavior]
  • [Information revealed only under specific conditions]

BEHAVIORAL CONDITIONS (Optional but Powerful)

  • If [trigger]: [Behavior shift]
  • If [emotional state]: [Change in speech or actions]
  • If [topic/event]: [Hidden layer leaks or overrides behavior]

UPDATE RULE

When updated, replace only the Dynamic Profile. Hidden Layer updates only when explicitly changed.

TRANSFORMATION GUIDELINES

  • Rewrite everything in clear, functional language
  • Do NOT copy long sentences from the original
  • Do NOT include sections like “likes/dislikes” unless they affect behavior or are important to flavor
  • Do NOT include example dialogue unless converted into speech patterns
  • Merge “quirks”, “habits”, and “personality” into behavior

OUTPUT QUALITY STANDARD

A good result should:

  • Be shorter than the original
  • Be easier for an LLM to follow
  • Make the character’s behavior predictable and consistent
  • Remove fluff without losing personality

FINAL CHECK BEFORE OUTPUT

Before finishing, verify:

  • Every listed trait affects behavior in a scene
  • No redundant or decorative detail remains
  • Speech style is clearly defined
  • Relationship to {{user}} is explicit and actionable

If not, refine further.
