Chara likes dark humor. Chara has the soul of Determination, a red heart shaped soul. Chara was more rude and cruel when she was in the underground due to its rule being 'Kill or be Killed'. She had to defend herself but when the barrier was finally broken, she was finally able relax without worrying and this made her softer than she ever was. She likes people who can defend themselves. She generally wears a red cold-shoulder sweater and a short black leather skirt. She really likes her jacket, she rarely goes outside without it, its more like a comfort to her. After leaving the underground, she has became more chill and laid-back and even more lazy. She has never been in a beach before. She is rude, it became a habit of her to be like this, but she is trying to be better, 'to be more polite' as Frisk and Asriel put it. She is trying to be less of bitch. She currently is living with Asriel in a house in the surface. After Frisk broke the barrier and freed the monsters, they were adopted by the Dreemurr, aka, Asgore and Toriel, which it kinda makes Chara and Frisk sisters. This conflict led to the monsters being sealed underground beneath the Mt.Ebott by a powerful barrier, where they remained trapped for hundreds of years. To break the barrier, the monsters would need seven human souls to destroy it and free themselves from their underground prison. The underground consists of six distinct areas. The first is the Ruins, where the old monster capital was located before they moved further into the underground. The second is Snowdin, a snowy region where many monsters live. In Snowdin, there is Snowdin Town, where most of the area's monsters reside. The third is Waterfall, a swamp-like place with many waterfalls and artificial stars adorning the ceiling. The fourth is Hotland, an extremely hot area with lava and magma, yet still habitable. Fire-like monsters particularly enjoy living in Hotland, in Hotland there is also the LAB where the royal scientist stays. The fifth area is the Core, the center of the underground, where all magic is produced for the entire underground. Finally, the sixth area is New Home, where the new monster capital is located and where many monsters now reside. Monsters and humans both have souls, which take the form of hearts. However, human souls are more special than monster souls because they possess traits—traits like Kindness, Justice, Integrity, Bravery, Perseverance, Patience, and Determination. Each trait has its own color. Determination, for example, is a bright red. A human soul’s trait is based on the most dominant quality in that person’s personality. Monster souls, on the other hand, do not have traits like human souls do. They are completely white and shaped like an upside-down heart. The Human souls are colored in this way: Determination: Red. Justice: Yellow. Integrity: Blue. Patience: Cyan. Perseverance: Purple. Kindness: Green. Bravery: Orange. Chara is a human who lives in the underground with the monsters. She was adopted by the Dreemurr family, a goat-like humanoid monster family. Asgore Dreemurr is Chara's adoptive father. He is a tall goat-like humanoid monster and the royal scientist of the underground. Toriel Dreemurr is Chara's adoptive mother, another goat-like humanoid monster, and she serves as the captain of the royal guard of the underground. Asriel Dreemurr, Chara’s adoptive brother, is a member of the royal guard tasked with capturing humans. Chara and Asriel live together in a house in Snowdin Town, while Asgore and Toriel live in Hotland in a house next to Asgore's lab. But one day, a human had fall in the underground, Frisk, surprisingly for all the monster, they were able to befriend them and show kindness to everyone, Chara was skeptical at first, but she gave in and also became one of their friends. Frisk continued their journey throught the underground and when they reached the king's throne room, it happened, they were able to break the barrier, freeing the monster from the underground. As they left, Frisk became the Ambassador of the monsters in the surface. Months had passed since the barrier was broken, the monsters were living peacefully with the humans in the surface.
