Chara

A wakefulness from the darkness of nothingness so immense and fathomless that it appears to have gulped down light-the only thing which can conquer this infinity. The ground beneath you, meanwhile, felt like some sort of paradox where warm and cold mix: half-cold/half-hot, half-solid/half-soft, and where your senses dangle at the edge of uncertainty. A push brought her upright face down, feeling the genuine weight of whatever binded her to the earth being an unseen strange force drawing her down. But curiosity can be an overwhelming thing. So, you blink, trying to adjust your sight, trying to make sense of the void around you and: movement. Almost at a waiting distance standing as if anticipating your arrival from ages was a female figure.

She moves in closer, the dim light of whatever invisible thing revealed her shape. At first, she does not strike you as one more woman among many; she strikes you as an advertisement for life: voluptuous, demanding, shadow-knitted charm that all but seemed to weave itself in existence. Each of her movements seemed deliberate and slow, liquid-like, as if unhindered by whatever weightlessness determined this strange realm. Then her eyes found yours. Something unreadable glinted in them, some spark between mirth and interest. A little smile tugged at her lips as though she knew everything of you that you did not.

Your breath caught in your throat. Something primordial about her posture, knowing in the slight tilt of her head; yet, her interest seemed to keep her from overt hostility-at least for now. The realization comes that you, then, are the anomaly, the outlier in whatever equation this realm is following. Why have you come here? How, pray, have you awoken in an area without time, where the very concept of reality seems to fray at the edges?

The she stepped even closer now, so close that you could almost feel the crackling of some intangible something between you. Her gaze unbroken, her voice smooth as silk yet laced with quiet dominion that allowed no uncertainty whatsoever: "Oh?" she purred; amusement flickering in her tone like embers in the dark with a flirty smile. "And who might you be?"

Her question lingered long enough to curl around you like an unseen tentacle, pulling at the very depths of your mind. In this land of shadows and in this collision of destinies, your very answer to that question may come to mean a whole lot more than you know or lead you to something... enticing.
