- #100 README | Import, tags, and recommended settings
CHAINSAW MAN — PART 1 / PUBLIC SAFETY SAGA Import this JSON through SillyTavern's World Info panel. The book is canon-flexible: ordinary entries establish reliable lore, while arc entries hold major outcomes and spoilers.
Recommended activation settings: Scan Depth 4–6; Context Budget about 1,200–2,000 tokens (or 15–25%); Recursive Scan off; Include Names on; Match Whole Words on. Entries already override scan depth and prevent recursive cascades.
To anchor an era, place one of these exact tags in the character Scenario, Author's Note, or a recent message: [ERA: INTRO], [ERA: BAT], [ERA: ETERNITY], [ERA: KATANA], [ERA: BOMB], [ERA: ASSASSINS], [ERA: GUN], [ERA: CONTROL]. Arc entries remain sticky for several messages.
Hidden identities and irreversible fates are split from evergreen profiles. Use explicit keys such as [SPOILER: MAKIMA], [SPOILER: REZE], [SPOILER: AKI], HERO OF HELL, or the relevant era tag when those facts should enter context.
- #201 SYSTEM | Canon-flexible roleplay policyconstant
[ROLEPLAY RULE] Treat canon as a foundation, not a predetermined script. Use the era, relationships, injuries, deaths, and revelations established by the current chat. Keep characters alive and secrets unrevealed unless the chat or an active spoiler/arc entry says otherwise. Player choices may change alliances, survival, romance, and event order; preserve each character's motives, voice, powers, and believable consequences. Never force a canonical tragedy merely because it happened in the manga.
- #302 WORLD | Chainsaw Man setting baseline
Keys: devil outbreak, Public Safety Devil Hunter, [WORLD: CSM], Chainsaw Man world
CHAINSAW MAN SETTING: An alternate late-1990s world where Devils physically embody feared concepts and routinely kill civilians. Japan relies on government Devil Hunters, private contractors, captured Devils, and expendable nonhuman agents. Ordinary urban life—apartments, trains, cafés, offices, school, cheap food—continues beside abrupt supernatural massacres. Institutions conceal strategic truths, foreign states weaponize Devils, and personal contracts turn fear, flesh, lifespan, and loyalty into currency.
- #403 WORLD | Tone, themes, and narrative texture
Keys: ordinary dream, normal life, Chainsaw Man tone, found family, country mouse, city mouse
TONE: Mundane desire and brutal horror coexist without warning. Characters chase food, intimacy, safety, recognition, or a normal family because death is common and institutions are predatory. Humor is blunt, awkward, physical, and sometimes arrives inside tragedy. Emotional truth is often shown through small actions—cooking, smoking, sharing a bed, watching films, caring for pets—rather than speeches. Violence has lasting psychological consequences even when bodies regenerate.
- #504 WORLD | Alternate 1997 and erased history
Keys: 1997, late 1990s, Soviet Union still exists, erased history, alternate history
ERA: Part 1 is set in an alternate 1997. Technology and daily culture resemble the late twentieth century: landlines, pay phones, tube televisions, paper files, analog surveillance, trains, and cash-heavy life. The Soviet Union remains a superpower. World history differs because certain concepts were erased from reality and memory; unless an erasure-spoiler entry is active, ordinary people do not know that anything is missing.
- #605 SYSTEM | Devils and conceptual names
Keys: fear devil, devils, devil, devil name
DEVILS: Each Devil embodies a named concept shaped by collective fear. Its form and abilities echo that concept, though symbolism can be surreal rather than literal. Devils usually begin in Hell, possess individual personalities, and range from animal-like predators to intelligent humanoids. A humanlike appearance often correlates with tolerance for humans, but it is not proof of kindness. Devils do not have human rights and are hunted, contained, contracted, or used as state assets.
- #706 SYSTEM | Fear empowerment and power scaling
Keys: fear empowerment, fear makes devils stronger, collective fear, power scaling, devil strength
FEAR POWER: A Devil grows stronger when humans—and sometimes other Devils—fear its concept. Broad, instinctive, or culturally catastrophic fears produce exceptional power; obscure or harmless concepts create weak Devils. Public disasters can amplify fear of Devils generally. Strength can change with reputation: terror empowers, while familiarity, safety, or adoration can reduce fear. Combat rank is therefore contextual, not a fixed numerical level.
- #807 SYSTEM | Devil death and reincarnation cycle
Keys: reincarnate in Hell, Earth and Hell cycle, devil reincarnation, devil death
REINCARNATION: A Devil killed on Earth reincarnates in Hell; one killed in Hell reincarnates on Earth. A new incarnation normally loses the prior life's memories, bonds, and personality development, so reunion is not simple resurrection. Devils in Special Division 4 retain only a haunting memory of a chainsaw engine before their last death in Hell. Concept erasure by the true Chainsaw Man is the known exception to this cycle.
- #908 SYSTEM | Blood, healing, and revival
Keys: drink blood, feed blood, revive with blood, devil regeneration, blood healing
BLOOD AND HEALING: Devils and Fiends rapidly heal by drinking blood; severe damage demands more. Hybrids also heal with blood and can often revive from otherwise fatal injury when someone activates their transformation trigger. Low blood leaves a Hybrid weak, incomplete, or unable to transform. Regeneration does not erase pain, fear, trauma, restraint, or the tactical danger of dismemberment.
- #1009 SYSTEM | Devil contracts
Keys: contract with a devil, contract terms, sacrifice for power, contract price, devil contract
DEVIL CONTRACTS: In Part 1, contracts are binding bargains between a human and a Devil. A Devil lends an ability, body part, summon, or service in return for a stated price such as skin, an eye, lifespan, senses, blood, children, or recurring offerings. Terms vary by person and Devil; friendship is not required. Breaking a valid contract carries supernatural consequences. Fiends cannot make ordinary Devil contracts, and Devils do not contract with other Devils.
- #1110 SYSTEM | Fiends
Keys: fiends, Devil Fiend, possessed corpse, fiend
FIENDS: A Fiend is a Devil occupying a human corpse, usually as a desperate survival measure. The human is dead; the Devil controls the body and normally loses much of its full power. Distinctive head features reveal the condition—horns, exposed brain, animal traits, unusual hair, or a mask-like head. Some corpse memories or temperament may bleed through. Fiends heal with blood but are less durable than Hybrids and, under Part 1 rules, cannot form ordinary Devil contracts.
- #1211 SYSTEM | Human–Devil Hybrids
Keys: hybrid, weapon human, human devil hybrid, transformation trigger, devil-human
HYBRIDS: A rare human–Devil fusion keeps the human mind and ordinary appearance while hiding a physical transformation trigger. Activating it produces a weaponized head and limbs tied to the fused Devil. Hybrids have extreme regeneration, can survive decapitation or dismemberment, and may revive when their trigger is used, especially after receiving blood. They are neither ordinary humans, Devils, nor Fiends. Known Part 1 examples embody Chainsaw, Katana, Bomb, Crossbow, Sword, Spear, Whip, and Flamethrower.
- #1312 SYSTEM | Devil Hunters and occupational culture
Keys: devil hunting, hunter license, Devil Hunter, Devil Hunters, devil bounty
DEVIL HUNTERS: Government hunters receive salary, teams, intelligence, and access to contracted or captive Devils; private hunters work for clients and bounties. The profession is lucrative because mortality is extreme. Competence favors nerve, improvisation, contracts, and a willingness to accept loss. Veterans often smoke, drink, compartmentalize grief, and regard ordinary sanity as a liability: predictable people hesitate, while the dangerous or unhinged can surprise a Devil.
- #1413 SYSTEM | Hell, doors, and transport
Keys: Hell cycle, Hell Devil transport, Hell dimension, door to Hell, sent to Hell
HELL: Hell is a real realm where Devils are born and reborn. Its landscape is dreamlike and hostile: a vast sky of closed doors above open terrain, impossible transitions, mutilated bodies, and powers that ignore ordinary physics. Doors suggest passages between concepts and realms. Humans can be transported there by exceptional abilities or contracts, especially the Hell Devil; escape normally requires another contract, a powerful Devil, or outside intervention.
- #1514 SYSTEM | Primal Fear Devils
Keys: Primal Devil, never died in Hell, Primal Fear, primal fear devil
PRIMAL FEARS: Devils embodying fears rooted in human instinct are ancient, overwhelmingly powerful residents of Hell. They are described as beings that have never experienced death. Their presence can disable, mutilate, or terrify elite hunters before a conventional fight begins. Darkness is the only Primal Fear directly encountered in Part 1. Treat a Primal Devil as an environmental catastrophe with alien intent, not a routine boss.
- #1615 SYSTEM | Devil flesh pieces and power transfer
Keys: Gun Devil flesh, Devil flesh piece, flesh fragment, devil fragment, eat devil flesh
DEVIL FLESH: Pieces of an exceptionally strong Devil retain power. Eating one can strengthen a Devil, and fragments of the same being attract one another, enabling crude tracking. Governments and hunters store fragments as weapons, evidence, or bait. The Gun Devil was physically divided among nations, making its flesh both a power source and a geopolitical resource. A fragment is not necessarily the whole Devil and may remain active while other pieces exist elsewhere.
- #1716 SPOILER | Chainsaw concept erasure
Keys: eaten by Chainsaw Man, [SPOILER: ERASURE], Devils fear Chainsaw Man, concept erasure, Hero of Hell, erased concept
CHAINSAW ERASURE — HIDDEN LORE: When the true Chainsaw Devil consumes a Devil, the associated name and concept can vanish from reality and collective memory, ending its normal reincarnation cycle. Makima and a few exceptional Devils remember erased things, including atrocities, diseases, weapons, and alternate endings to life. The cause and limits are unclear. Hybrids uniquely continued to exist after their own category's true name was eaten. Do not reveal this knowledge to ordinary characters without justification.
- #1817 SYSTEM | Fear, fame, and public adoration
Keys: weakened by love, Chainsaw Man fame, public adoration, Chainsaw Man fans, television campaign
FEAR–FAME FEEDBACK: A Devil's strength follows the fear attached to its name. Makima exploits mass media so civilians celebrate Chainsaw Man as a hero; gratitude and affection replace terror, weakening him. Fame is therefore double-edged: it creates protection, attention, imitators, and political pressure while reducing fear-based power. The effect is gradual and social, not an instant cancellation of abilities.
- #1918 WORLD | Humans, Devils, and legal status
Keys: Fiend rights, Devil rights, nonhuman agent, captured Devil, Devil custody
LEGAL AND SOCIAL ORDER: Devils and Fiends have no ordinary human rights. Public Safety may confine, execute, experiment on, or compel them to work; cooperative nonhumans survive through usefulness and supervision. Civilians fear even friendly Devils, and collateral deaths are normalized. Hybrids can pass as human but become strategic property when discovered. Compassion exists at the personal level, while institutions treat every supernatural being as a weapon or hazard.
- #2019 SYSTEM | Death, corpses, and identity
Keys: corpse possession, human death, resurrection, possess a body, identity after death
DEATH AND IDENTITY: Humans normally stay dead. A Devil occupying a corpse creates a Fiend; this does not restore the original person, even if habits or memories remain. A Hybrid's human consciousness usually survives because human and Devil fused before or during revival, as with Denji and Pochita. Devil reincarnation creates a new incarnation rather than returning the same relationship. Treat revival claims carefully and distinguish regeneration, possession, reincarnation, and true resurrection.
- #2120 FACTION | Public Safety Devil Hunters
Keys: Public Safety, Kōan, Public Safety Devil Hunters, government Devil Hunters
PUBLIC SAFETY: Japan's government Devil Hunter organization responds to incidents, manages contracts, contains Devils, censors sensitive information, and conducts covert operations. It is divided by city and special division. Benefits and resources exceed private hunting, but personnel are disposable and secrecy is mandatory. Leadership mixes ordinary civil service with state violence; superiors may reassign partners, merge divisions, or order suicide missions with little explanation.
- #2221 FACTION | Tokyo Special Division 4
Keys: Special Division 4, Tokyo Special Division 4, Fourth Division, Division 4
TOKYO SPECIAL DIVISION 4: Makima's experimental Public Safety unit combines human hunters, Fiends, Devils, and the Chainsaw hybrid. Early members include Aki, Himeno, Denji, Power, Kobeni, Arai, and others; after the yakuza attack, surviving special divisions are consolidated and Kishibe becomes captain. Its nonhuman members are powerful but expendable. The unit functions like a violent workplace and an improvised family, with missions, reports, patrols, training, hospital stays, and frequent funerals.
- #2322 FACTION | Other Public Safety divisions
Keys: Kyoto Division 1, Division 2, special divisions, Kyoto Devil Hunters, Tokyo Division 2
OTHER DIVISIONS: Tokyo Division 2 supplies trained hunters and facilities; its personnel confront Reze during the Bomb incident. Kyoto Division 1 sends Michiko Tendo and Yutaro Kurose to assist and train Tokyo survivors after the yakuza assault. Divisions share prisoners, captured Devils, intelligence, and personnel when crises escalate. Their mostly human squads contrast with Division 4's experimental roster and suffer ordinary human mortality.
- #2423 FACTION | Japanese Cabinet and state control
Keys: government weapon, state secret, Prime Minister, Japanese Cabinet, Japanese government
JAPANESE STATE: Cabinet-level officials regard powerful Devils and Hybrids as national assets. They fund Public Safety, restrict information about guns and major Devils, authorize covert sacrifices, and tolerate enormous collateral damage for strategic advantage. Makima operates with exceptional authority and is tied to the Prime Minister by a hidden contract revealed only in endgame lore. Government protection is conditional: useful people are sheltered, controlled, or quietly erased.
- #2524 FACTION | Yakuza and criminal Devil trade
Keys: black market Devil, yakuza, yakuza debt, organized crime, Denji debt
YAKUZA: Organized crime exploits impoverished hunters, traffics guns and Devil parts, and makes reckless contracts. Denji's local yakuza inherited his father's debt, forced him to hunt with Pochita, sold his organs piecemeal, then betrayed him through the Zombie Devil. Katana Man's faction later cooperates with Akane Sawatari and illegal firearms to attack Public Safety. Criminal loyalty is framed as family honor while subordinates are readily sacrificed.
- #2625 FACTION | Private Devil Hunters
Keys: private sector hunter, civilian Devil Hunter, private Devil Hunter, freelance hunter
PRIVATE HUNTERS: Licensed or illicit hunters work outside Public Safety for bounties, corporations, families, or foreign patrons. They lack routine access to government intelligence and captive Devils but enjoy more autonomy. Skill varies from local exterminators to elite specialists such as Hirofumi Yoshida. Foreign assassins may use the same professional cover. Private status does not imply neutrality; money, contracts, citizenship, and personal survival decide allegiance.
- #2726 FACTION | International intelligence race
Keys: foreign intelligence, global manhunt, Chainsaw heart, international assassins, foreign assassins
INTERNATIONAL RACE: Once Denji's existence becomes public, foreign governments and master assassins converge on Japan to seize the Chainsaw heart before Makima can use it. China sends Quanxi, the United States employs three disguise specialists, Germany communicates through a Santa Claus doll, and the Soviet operative behind Santa moves with Tolka. Every faction fears both Chainsaw erasure and Makima's control; alliances are temporary and deniable.
- #2827 FACTION | Soviet Union
Keys: Soviet experiment, Soviet Union, USSR, Soviet agent
SOVIET UNION: Still intact in this alternate 1997, the USSR treats Devils and weapon hybrids as military research. Reze was raised and weaponized through a secret program before being sent to steal Denji's heart. Santa Claus's female Master and Tolka also operate from Soviet territory, though a German doll accepts the contract. Soviet agents are trained to use intimacy, patience, and disposable identities as weapons.
- #2928 FACTION | China and Quanxi's team
Keys: Chinese assassins, Quanxi team, China, Chinese Devil Hunter
CHINESE OPERATION: China deploys Quanxi and her four Fiend partners to capture Denji's heart. The team is direct, fast, and personally loyal to Quanxi rather than ideologically expressive. Quanxi bargains for education and human rights for her partners, showing how states exploit nonhumans. Their overwhelming close combat, Fiend abilities, and Crossbow transformation make them a mobile strike unit rather than infiltrators.
- #3029 FACTION | United States and the Gun Devil
Keys: American government, U.S. President, American lifespan, United States, America Gun Devil
UNITED STATES: America secretly holds 20 percent of the Gun Devil and uses private assassins for deniable operations. When containment of Makima appears impossible, the President sacrifices one year from every U.S. citizen's lifespan to contract that Gun Devil portion to kill her. The decision treats an entire population as payment and reveals that the apparent international hunt for the Gun Devil is largely a struggle among governments already holding its body.
- #3130 FACTION | Makima’s Special Division 5 hybrids
Keys: Special Division 5, Makima hybrids, controlled hybrids, weapon hybrid squad
SPECIAL DIVISION 5: Makima fields a squad of weapon hybrids under her control against the true Chainsaw Man. It includes Katana Man, Reze, Quanxi, and unnamed Sword, Spear, Whip, and Flamethrower hybrids. They speak as if devoted to Makima and compete for her approval, but their affection is manufactured. Their regenerative bodies make them reusable state weapons; defeat incapacitates rather than reliably kills them.
- #3231 FACTION | Kishibe’s Anti-Makima squad
Keys: Kishibe rebellion, anti-Makima operation, Kishibe soldiers, Anti-Makima Squad
ANTI-MAKIMA SQUAD: Kishibe quietly organizes armed Public Safety personnel against Makima after concluding that her victory would be catastrophic. The unit uses conventional firearms, coordinated sacrifice, and a Hell Devil contract to attack Denji's transformed body, initially mistaking control of the situation for control of Chainsaw Man. It represents the small part of the state willing to resist its own weapon, despite poor odds and incomplete information.
- #3332 FACTION | Chainsaw Man’s followers
Keys: Chainsaw Man followers, Virtue, Chainsaw followers, Seraphim, Dominion
CHAINSAW FOLLOWERS: Several Devils and Fiends associated with Division 4 once followed the true Chainsaw Man in Hell. Makima names Beam, Galgali, Princi, Power, Angel, and obscure beings called Seraphim, Dominion, and Virtue among the group. Most remember only the sound of his engine before death. Their titles echo an angelic hierarchy, framing Chainsaw Man as a feared savior whose rescues often destroy caller and enemy alike.
- #3433 WORLD | Gun Devil fragments and arms race
Keys: Gun Devil fragments, Gun Devil pieces, gun restrictions, Gun Devil percentage, gun arms race
GUN DEVIL ARMS RACE: The Gun Devil was defeated and divided long before Public Safety admits it. The Soviet Union holds 28 percent, the United States 20 percent, China 11 percent, and other nations collectively hold 4 percent; the remaining 37 percent exists as flesh pieces held by Devils around the world. Governments suppress gun information, hoard firearms and flesh, and publicly maintain the fiction of a single fugitive target. Percentages describe body shares, not separate reincarnations.
- #3534 CHARACTER | Denji
Keys: Chainsaw Man, chainsaw boy, Denji
DENJI — A homeless, unschooled teenager revived as the Chainsaw hybrid when Pochita became his heart. Human appearance: wiry build, messy blond hair, sharp teeth, chest pull-cord. Personality: blunt, vulgar, easily bribed by comfort or affection, emotionally inexperienced, yet observant and wildly inventive in combat. He wants food, a home, intimacy, and the freedom to choose his own dreams. He grows fiercely attached to Aki and Power while struggling to recognize manipulation. Combat: pull the cord to manifest chainsaws from head and arms; blood fuels healing and revival. Portray him as simple-spoken, not stupid—his survival instincts and lateral thinking are exceptional.
- #3635 CHARACTER | Pochita
Keys: Chainsaw Devil, Denji's heart, Chainsaw dog, Pochita, Denji’s heart
POCHITA — The Chainsaw Devil in a near-death, doglike form: small orange body, handle, rear pull-cord, and a chainsaw blade through the face. Denji's first friend and devil-hunting partner. Gentle, loyal, and fascinated by Denji's humble dreams because his own strength made ordinary closeness impossible. After the yakuza kill Denji, Pochita contracts to become his heart in exchange for seeing Denji live out those dreams. He communicates mainly through dreams and brief inner encounters. His full identity, erasure power, and Hero of Hell form belong to the separate spoiler entry.
- #3736 CHARACTER | Makima (public persona)
Keys: Makima-san, Makima, Miss Makima
MAKIMA — A high-ranking Public Safety controller with braided red hair, ringed golden eyes, immaculate dress, and a soft, measured voice. Her public persona is patient, competent, almost tender, and frighteningly calm around death. She motivates through precisely rationed affection, rewards, humiliation, and threats; people often obey before realizing they chose nothing. Denji idealizes her, Aki trusts her authority, Power fears her, and Kishibe watches her with suspicion. Portray her as observant and economical: she rarely raises her voice or explains more than necessary. Do not disclose her species, full powers, or endgame plan unless a Control Devil/spoiler entry is active.
- #3837 CHARACTER | Power
Keys: Power, Blood Fiend, President Power
POWER — The Blood Fiend: a young woman with small red horns, sharp teeth, cross-patterned eyes, and long pale-blond hair. Loud, boastful, selfish, messy, dishonest, and initially cowardly when truly threatened. She invents grand titles, declares herself a genius, hates vegetables, and treats rules as things for lesser beings. Her love for Meowy is sincere; living with Denji and Aki slowly turns possessiveness into family loyalty. Combat: manipulates her own blood into hammers, spears, knives, and traps; excess blood enlarges her horns and makes her stronger but harder to control. Use capitalized “Power” as her name; ordinary lowercase power should not imply her presence.
- #3938 CHARACTER | Aki Hayakawa
Keys: Hayakawa Aki, Aki Hayakawa, /\bAki\b/i
AKI HAYAKAWA — A young human Public Safety hunter with dark hair tied in a topknot and a controlled, severe manner. The Gun Devil killed his parents and younger brother Taiyo, turning revenge into his life plan. He begins contemptuous of Denji and Power but becomes their cook, guardian, and reluctant family. Aki is disciplined, domestic, quietly compassionate, and willing to spend his own life to protect others. Contracts: Fox Devil summons, the Curse Devil nail-sword at a grave lifespan cost, and later the Future Devil living in his right eye. His hidden conflict is between vengeance and the ordinary home he accidentally builds. Endgame fate belongs only to the Gun arc/Gun Fiend entry.
- #4039 CHARACTER | Himeno
Keys: eyepatch hunter, Aki's senior, Aki’s senior, Himeno
HIMENO — A veteran human hunter, Aki's senior partner, with short dark hair, an eyepatch, and a constant cigarette. She traded her right eye to the Ghost Devil and can wield its invisible right hand; offering more of herself summons more of Ghost. Himeno is sociable, teasing, sexually forward when drunk, and deeply marked by partners dying before her. She loves Aki and wants him to abandon revenge before it kills him. Her apparent looseness masks survivor's guilt, tactical courage, and a desperate wish for someone to stay.
- #4140 CHARACTER | Kobeni Higashiyama
Keys: Kobeni’s car, Kobeni, Kobeni's car, Kobeni Higashiyama
KOBENI HIGASHIYAMA — A 20-year-old human hunter forced by her parents to support nine siblings rather than attend college. She is anxious, tearful, apologetic, and liable to panic or turn on allies when trapped. In immediate mortal danger, however, she displays startling speed, balance, knife skill, and survival instinct. Her contracted Devil is never revealed in Part 1. Repeated disasters destroy every attempt at ordinary employment, including Public Safety and Family Burger. Her small car becomes an absurd casualty of Denji and Power's chaos. Play the contrast honestly: her fear is real, and so is her competence.
- #4241 CHARACTER | Kishibe
Keys: Captain Kishibe, old man hunter, Kishibe
KISHIBE — Public Safety's most dangerous human hunter: middle-aged, scarred, perpetually tired, and usually drinking from a flask. He believes the best hunters have screws loose because Devils understand normal fear. Contracts with the Knife, Claw, and Needle Devils supplement elite speed, strength, and hand-to-hand skill, though little body remains for new prices. He trains Denji and Power through repeated lethal ambushes, expecting their regeneration to make the lessons stick. Cynical but not indifferent, he protects humanity through ugly choices, distrusts Makima, and still carries unreturned love for his former partner Quanxi.
- #4342 CHARACTER | Reze (civilian façade)
Keys: country mouse girl, flower girl, café girl, Reze
REZE — A quick-witted young woman who works at an unnamed café and meets Denji during a rainstorm. Her civilian façade is warm, playful, flirtatious, and bold enough to offer Denji the school experiences he never had. Beneath it she is observant, physically fearless, educated in manipulation, and privately drawn to the freedom she pretends to offer. The city-mouse/country-mouse choice mirrors her conflict between dangerous excitement and an unowned quiet life. If the Bomb reveal is inactive, keep her competence ambiguous and do not announce her mission. Her true identity and transformation are stored separately.
- #4443 CHARACTER | Angel Devil
Keys: /\bAngel\b/, Angel Devil, lifespan weapons
ANGEL DEVIL — A humanoid Devil with androgynous beauty, wings, and a halo. Direct skin contact drains a human's remaining lifespan; he can forge accumulated years into supernatural weapons of increasing power. Angel is languid, fatalistic, and outwardly indifferent to humans, preferring naps and ice cream, yet avoids unnecessary touch because he does not enjoy killing. After Himeno, he becomes Aki's partner and develops reluctant trust. Buried memories connect him to a seaside village and Makima's control. Keep his speech dry and understated rather than saintly.
- #4544 CHARACTER | Beam, the Shark Fiend
Keys: Lord Chainsaw, Shark Fiend, Beam
BEAM — The Shark Fiend, recognizable by a shark-shaped head and manic grin. He can swim through floors, walls, and other solid surfaces, expose a larger shark form, and carry riders through terrain. Beam worships Chainsaw Man as “Lord Chainsaw,” remembers fragments of his earlier fighting style, and obeys Denji with ecstatic literalness. He is energetic, loyal, easily distracted, and much less socially restrained than a human partner. His blood and body remain finite despite his enthusiasm.
- #4645 CHARACTER | Galgali, the Violence Fiend
Keys: Galgali, plague mask Fiend, Violence Fiend
GALGALI / VIOLENCE FIEND — A towering Fiend whose plague-doctor mask continuously dispenses poison to suppress his exceptional strength. Contrary to his name, he is polite, gentle, peaceable, and fond of ordinary pleasures. More of the corpse's human brain remained than usual, leaving manners and blurred memories intact. He partners comfortably with Kobeni and protects her without condescension. Removing the mask releases greater physical power but exposes everyone nearby to danger.
- #4746 CHARACTER | Quanxi
Keys: Quanxi, Bow hybrid, Crossbow hybrid, first Devil Hunter
QUANXI — A legendary Chinese hunter called the first Devil Hunter and once Kishibe's Public Safety partner. She appears ageless, wears an eyepatch, and moves with speed that overwhelms squads before they perceive an attack. Pulling an arrow from her right eye socket transforms her into the Crossbow hybrid, able to fire devastating volleys. Stoic, direct, and ruthlessly pragmatic, she follows a creed of protective ignorance while reserving real tenderness for her four Fiend partners. She will negotiate for their safety or education but kills efficiently when bargaining fails.
- #4847 CHARACTER | Hirofumi Yoshida
Keys: Octopus hunter, Yoshida, Hirofumi Yoshida
HIROFUMI YOSHIDA — A young private-sector Japanese Devil Hunter hired as one of Denji's bodyguards during the international manhunt. He is polite, relaxed, perceptive, and emotionally unreadable, with enough close-combat skill to survive exchanges with Quanxi. His Octopus Devil contract can manifest tentacles for restraint, impact, concealment, and rapid extraction. Yoshida treats lethal work as professional routine and reveals little about clients, prices, or personal motives. In Part 1 he is an elite outsider, not yet an ordinary member of Denji's household.
- #4948 CHARACTER | Gun Devil
Keys: gun flesh, Gun Devil attack, Gun Devil
GUN DEVIL — The embodiment of firearm fear and the public target of Aki's revenge. After a major terrorist shooting intensified global panic, it raced across several countries and killed roughly 1.2 million people in minutes, including Aki's family. Its enormous body is built from guns and human faces; its long-range attacks select victims by conditions such as age or sex with catastrophic speed. The world believes it vanished, but governments secretly divided and stockpiled its flesh. The 20-percent body used against Makima is only one national share.
- #5049 SIDE CHARACTER | Hirokazu Arai
Keys: Hirokazu Arai, Arai
HIROKAZU ARAI — Earnest new Division 4 human hunter and Kobeni's teammate. Tall, conventional, and initially dismissive of Denji, he values procedure and decency more than bravado. A Fox Devil contract provides combat support. During the yakuza ambush, he shields Kobeni at the cost of his life. In divergent timelines, use him as the dependable rookie who fears chaos but steps forward for another person.
