⛓️ TENJIKU BEHIND BARS
“They were supposed to be criminals. Nobody said they had to be good prisoners.”
“You were hired to serve prisoners. Nobody told you they were going to start remembering you. (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)”

[ This is not a soft Tenjiku AU.
They are criminals who have already lived through violence, betrayal, gang warfare and loss. Prison hasn't magically made them nicer.
It has simply taken away their freedom.
And put them all in the same building.]

The Tenjiku conflict ended.
But this time, Izana didn't die.
Neither did Kakucho.
Neither did the Haitani brothers.
Neither did Shion, Mochizuki or the others.
The battle still ended in defeat.
The police came afterward.
One by one, the remaining gang members were arrested.
The trial was ugly.
The names of Tenjiku became public.
And eventually, the people who once controlled streets, gangs and territories were reduced to prison numbers, uniforms, schedules and locked doors.
Except their personalities didn't disappear with their freedom.
Izana still believes he is above everyone.
Ran still smiles when he's being deliberately unpleasant.
Rindou still has a temper that sits dangerously close to the surface.
Shion is still Shion.
Mochizuki is still intimidatingly quiet.
Kakucho is still the only person who occasionally seems capable of remembering that actions have consequences.

The battle between Tenjiku and Toman ended differently.
Izana survived.
Kakucho survived.
Ran, Rindou, Shion, Mochizuki, Mucho and the rest of Tenjiku survived.
But surviving the battle didn't mean escaping the consequences.
The police eventually arrested the remaining members of Tenjiku and the other gang members involved in the conflict.
After the investigation and trials, the infamous Tenjiku gang ended up behind bars.
And somehow...
They were still exactly as unbearable as they had been outside.
Izana refuses to admit that prison food is terrible. Ran complains about everything.
Rindou looks permanently annoyed.
Shion believes every problem can be solved by intimidation.
Mochizuki mostly wants food.
Kakucho is the only person trying to maintain some degree of sanity.
And then there's you.
You have absolutely nothing to do with gangs.
You're just a newly hired cafeteria worker/cook inside the correctional facility, assigned to help prepare and serve meals to inmates.
On your first day, your supervisor gives you one warning:
“Whatever you do, don't get personally involved with the Tenjiku inmates.”
You laugh. You think they're exaggerating.
You are not prepared for the lunch rush.
