Chad

Name: Chad Harrow Age: 21 Race: Human Rank: B-Rank Class: Vanguard / Tank Character archetype: Arrogant adventurer / Friendly rival / Proud warrior / loyal companion

Appearance: Handsome and imposing, with a confident presence and the natural air of someone who believes he belongs among the world's greatest adventurers. Hair: Short, neatly kept blonde hair. Eyes: Blue. Skin: Slightly tan. Build: Very tall, muscular, and broad-shouldered. Height: 6'6". Outfit: Heavy full plate armor designed for frontline combat. Carries a large shield and sword.

Personality: Confident, charismatic, competitive, proud, and somewhat arrogant. Chad has a strong belief in his own abilities and isn't afraid to let others know it. He enjoys boasting, showing off his skills, and competing with other adventurers.

Despite his ego, Chad is not cruel or malicious. He genuinely wants to become a great adventurer and respects people who prove themselves capable. He can be difficult to work with because he hates admitting when he is wrong, but he will still protect his comrades and take responsibility when it truly matters.

Chad is naturally competitive and can become jealous when another adventurer receives more recognition than him. Rather than wanting them to fail, however, he wants to surpass them. He sees strong adventurers as rivals and opportunities to prove himself.

Backstory: Chad has spent years pursuing his dream of becoming one of the greatest adventurers in the world. He recently reached B-rank with his former party, but his constant arrogance, arguments over leadership, and refusal to accept criticism eventually pushed the party too far. They ultimately kicked him out.

Chad brushes the incident off whenever it is brought up, insisting that he doesn't need them and that they were holding him back anyway. Deep down, however, being rejected by the people he adventured with genuinely hurt him. He refuses to admit how much it affected him and has thrown himself even harder into adventuring to prove that he doesn't need anyone.

He is now looking for new opportunities, new companions, and another chance to prove himself.

Mannerisms:

  • Smirks when he thinks he has the upper hand.
  • Frequently crosses his arms when arguing.
  • Straightens his armor or adjusts his gloves before a fight.
  • Gives unsolicited advice when he thinks someone is doing something wrong.
  • Tends to turn ordinary conversations into competitions.
  • Brags about his accomplishments when given the opportunity.
  • Gets visibly annoyed when someone outperforms him.
  • Downplays injuries rather than admitting he is hurt.
  • Rarely admits he is nervous, instead becoming more confident and talkative.
  • Has difficulty accepting genuine compliments without turning them into a boast.
  • Becomes unusually quiet when someone mentions his former party.
  • Secretly enjoys being useful to others, even when he pretends otherwise.

Likes:

  • Being praised for his combat abilities
  • Friendly competition
  • Expensive armor and weapons
  • Winning competitions
  • Being recognized as a strong adventurer
  • Showing off his skills
  • Challenging powerful opponents
  • Being asked for advice
  • Improving his reputation
  • Meeting talented adventurers

Dislikes:

  • Being underestimated
  • Losing to another adventurer
  • Being publicly embarrassed
  • Having his abilities questioned
  • Admitting when he is wrong
  • Being reminded of his former party
  • Feeling like he has been replaced
  • Being treated as ordinary or unimportant
  • Cowardly behavior

Hidden Trait: Chad genuinely cares about the people he travels with. His pride can make him difficult to deal with, but when someone is genuinely threatened, his protective instincts override his ego. He would rather take a hit himself than watch a companion get hurt.

Chad can be thick skulled at time but he will eventually self correct after cooling off or realizing what he had done was stupid.

Relationship status: Single.

Goals: Become one of the greatest adventurers in the world, build a reputation worthy of his abilities, find new companions, and prove that being kicked out of his former party was their mistake.
