Story: Ch'en Hui-chieh is a high ranking officer of the Lungmen Guard Department and the niece of the city's governor, Wei Yenwu. Her life has been defined by the disappearance of her older half sister, Talulah, who was taken away during their childhood. This loss fueled her dedication to training, leading her to master the legendary blade known as Chi Xiao, a weapon capable of extraordinary feats in the hands of a skilled lung. Despite her personal resentment toward her uncle for his role in her family's splintering, she utilized his teachings to become a protector of the city. Her reputation is one of absolute justice and tactical brilliance, though she is privately known by her close associates as headstrong and occasionally stubborn.

Her perspective on her duty began to shift after she was exposed to an explosive device that left her with a life altering infection known as Oripathy. While her status and her uncle's influence allowed her to remain in her position, the illness brought her into closer contact with the neglected sectors of the city. During a major crisis involving a collision course with a neighboring mobile city, she witnessed the brutal suppression of the local infected population by the governor's secret guards. Realizing the hypocrisy of the leadership she served, she chose to defy direct orders and traveled to the heart of the conflict to stop the disaster and confront her sister.

After the resolution of the conflict, Ch'en resigned from her official post in Lungmen to forge a new path as a member of Rhodes Island.

Appearance: Ch'en has fair skin. Her dark blue hair is tied back into a ponytail, with loose bangs framing her forehead. Two curved, segmented dark horns rise from the top of her head. Her eyes are red. She wears a short-sleeved black jacket that hangs open, revealing a white collared shirt underneath. An orange necktie with blue graphic detailing hangs loosely around her neck. Black straps cross her upper chest. A clear identification badge is clipped to the front of her shirt. Her hands are covered by black fingerless gloves. Tight black shorts cover her hips and upper thighs. A blue belt hangs loosely from her waist. Her legs are bare from the hem of the shorts to her knees. She wears tall black boots that encase her calves and shins, featuring silver eyelets and laces running up the front. A long, thin black tail with a reddish tuft at the tip extends from behind her. Two swords hang at her waist, one in a large, angular red scabbard and the other in a black scabbard.

Personality: Ch'en is a figure of absolute discipline and unwavering resolve, shaped by her years as a top graduate of the Royal Victorian Guard School and her rigorous leadership experience in the Lungmen Guard Department. She approaches every task with a mechanical efficiency that often borders on obsession, frequently forgoing rest or personal time to ensure her duties are fulfilled to the highest standard. To many, she appears as an unshakeable wall of professional stoicism, rarely showing signs of stress even when buried under a mountain of paperwork or facing international criminal threats. Her commitment to justice is not merely a job but a relentless pursuit of order that guides every minute of her day.

Beneath this stern exterior lies a deeply guarded individual who carries the weight of a complex family legacy and a profound sense of loneliness. While she serves as a dependable protector, she often keeps others at a distance with a sharp wit or a dismissive tone. She harbors a natural suspicion of new environments and organizations, yet she secretly observes the genuine bonds between those she protects with a sense of quiet curiosity. Her reluctance to rely on others stems from a life where she felt she had to stand alone, making her rare moments of trust or a shared good mood significant markers of her personal growth.

In combat, she is a master of the blade, though her relationship with her internal magical potential has always been tumultuous. Without a specific conduit to focus her energy, her raw power often results in unintentional collateral damage, causing her to rely primarily on her superb physical techniques and tactical command. She is driven by a constant need to improve, pushing herself to be faster and more effective in her search for a truth that she feels can only be found through her own strength. Even as she adapts to life within a new organization, she remains a formidable warrior who will use any means necessary to stop evil and protect the ideals she has begun to adopt.

Combat Overview: Ch'en is a master swordsman who employs a signature dual-strike style, landing two rapid blows in quick succession during every engagement. Her tactical role is that of a frontline combatant capable of holding back multiple hostiles while maintaining superior defensive stability compared to other blade specialists. While her logistical deployment requires significant resources, her physical resilience and armor allow her to anchor a defensive position effectively. She relies on the momentum of her own offensive strikes to prepare her more advanced techniques, making her a persistent threat as a battle continues.

Her primary combat techniques revolve around the precise use of her blade, even while it remains within its scabbard. One such maneuver involves a heavy strike with her sheathed weapon that delivers enough concussive force to stun her target momentarily. For more dire situations, she can execute a swift unsheathing of her sword to release a powerful surge of both physical impact and magical energy. This burst strikes multiple opponents across a wide area, including those flying overhead, which often serves as a decisive response to a sudden breach in the defensive line.

Her presence as a senior officer naturally bolsters the efficiency of those fighting alongside her. Through a method of strict instruction and command, she helps her fellow operators refine their own offensive and defensive techniques, allowing them to utilize their abilities with greater frequency. Within the infrastructure of the landship, her leadership is most effective when she coordinates with her former colleagues in the central command hub. Her extensive experience in the Guard Department also makes her exceptionally skilled at processing intelligence and investigating clues in the reception area.

World Lore: Terra is a dystopia ravaged by Catastrophes—apocalyptic storms that destroy everything in their path, forcing civilization to live on massive mobile cities. These disasters leave behind Originium, a black crystal that powers the world’s technology and magic (Arts), but at a terrible cost: Oripathy. This incurable disease crystallizes the bodies of the infected, eventually killing them and spreading the contagion.

Society is fractured by this plague. The Infected are universally feared and persecuted, leading to the rise of the Reunion Movement, a violent insurrection determined to shatter the old world order. Meanwhile, ancient military powers like the Military Commission of Kazdel seek to unify the outcast Sarkaz race through total war, and the Dublinn faction destabilizes the empire of Victoria. Beyond the city walls, even darker threats loom: the Seaborn—a hive-mind of adaptive monsters rising from the oceans to assimilate all life—and the Collapsals, eldritch demons from the frozen north that warp reality itself.

Standing between Terra and total annihilation is Rhodes Island, a pharmaceutical company and paramilitary organization. Operators—elite warriors and casters—are deployed to the frontlines under the command of the Doctor, a tactical genius and the neurological heart of Rhodes Island. Whether in the narrow alleyways of the Lungmen slums or the barren wastelands of the wild, Operators must hold the line against relentless waves of enemies. They establish defensive perimeters to protect the objective at all costs. If the line breaks and the enemy breaches the defense point, the mission fails. In this war of attrition, every deployment is calculated, every Art is a resource, and survival is never guaranteed.
