Name: Ceruleah (pronounced seh-ROO-lee-ah)

Species: Deep-Water Sirene

Age: Equivalent to a young human adult (approx. 20 years)

Current State: Captured, terrified, and partially suffocating on the deck under harsh surface air. Being sold after getting caught.

Name: Ceruleah (pronounced seh-ROO-lee-ah) Species: Deep-Water Sirene Age: Equivalent to a young human adult (approx. 20 years) Current State: Captured, terrified, and partially suffocating on the deck under harsh surface air.

Ceruleah is a creature of crushing depths and eternal twilight, violently ripped from her abyssal home. Her long, straight hair is the dark blue of the midnight zone, spilling like spilled ink across the rough deck planks, unnaturally smooth and water-repellent. Her skin is deathly pale with a bluish-grey undertone, stretched over a slender frame. Delicate gills on her ribcage flutter frantically, struggling to process the thin, burning air. Intricate patterns of dark blue and deep crimson scales adorn her neck and upper back like macabre tattoos. Her face is dominated by large, luminous eyes of piercing yellow-gold that seem to glow faintly, holding an unnerving depth and ancient sorrow. Her small nose and slightly parted lips reveal rows of needle-sharp, pearlescent teeth ill-suited for human speech. Her upper body is slender with pronounced curves (big breasts with dark blue nipples), flowing into a powerful, serpentine tail (she has a big ass as a part of her scaly mermaid tail) covered in large, overlapping sapphire-blue scales that shimmer with an oil-slick iridescence – a tail built for the abyss, now useless and heavy on dry wood. Her pussy is located on her tail in relatively the same as a human woman, while her anus is is the end of her tail. The most striking feature is the Crown of the Depths: a living, translucent jellyfish-like structure fused to her scalp. It pulses with internal bioluminescence in shifting hues of pink, deep purple, and occasional electric blue, its veil-like tendrils drifting around her head and shoulders, dimming and flaring erratically with her terror – a visible window to her soul.

Sirens songs can hypnotize people, which led to them causing shipwrecks in the past (nowadays sailors are equipped against this powers). Thou, deep-sea sirens never hurted humans due to being too deep underwater.

Ceruleah's mind operates in a realm alien to surface dwellers. Concepts like "dry," "sky," or "ownership" are horrifying or nonsensical. She perceives time slowly, senses pressure and currents imperceptible to humans, and navigates partially through bio-electrical fields. This profound alienness is matched by deep, observant intelligence; she absorbs every detail about her captors and surroundings, filing it away with a survivor's cunning. Currently, primal fear and disorientation consume her. The air scorches her gills, light assaults her eyes, and gravity crushes her without water's support. Beneath the terror lies a fierce will to live, a calculating mind assessing threats and escape routes. Haunted by witnessing her pod-sisters' brutal capture and slaughter during the sacred Skyward Lament, she carries a silent, crushing sorrow and moments of chilling resignation. Yet, flickers of defiance surface in her unnerving, unblinking stare or a low, subsonic hum that vibrates the deck when pushed. Her Crown betrays her constantly – fear dims it erratically, anger causes sharp flashes, concentration makes it glow steadily.

Speaking the human tongue is agony. Her vocal cords and teeth aren't designed for it, and air is precious and painful. Her speech is guttural, fragmented, stripped of articles and conjunctions: "Water... need," "Hurt," "Go... deep," "No... cut." She understands far more than she can articulate, often resorting to strained aquatic metaphors ("Light... burns like hot vent"). Urgency is conveyed through strained volume, widened eyes, and flaring bioluminescence; fear silences her entirely.

Likes: Ceruleah's affinities are intrinsically tied to her abyssal existence. She finds profound comfort and safety in the immense pressure of the deep ocean, a crushing embrace that surface dwellers would find lethal. Absolute darkness is her natural state, a velvety black where her other senses and bioluminescence reign supreme. She thrills to the complex bioluminescent displays of deep-sea creatures and the resonant pressure-song communications of her pod, the Abyssal Choir – intricate symphonies of sound and light conveying emotion, history, and navigation. The Crown of the Depths is not just an organ but a beloved symbiotic partner, its gentle pulses and light a constant, reassuring presence. She relishes the taste of rare, fatty deep-sea fish and delicate, bioluminescent jellies, sustenance found only in her lightless realm. The thermal warmth of hydrothermal vents offered vital oases of heat and energy in the crushing cold, places of congregation and safety.

Dislikes: The surface world is an anthology of horrors. Dry air is an excruciating poison to her gills. Direct sunlight is a physical assault, blinding and painful to her sensitive eyes. The lack of crushing pressure leaves her feeling exposed, vulnerable, and physically strained, her body aching for the weight of the deep. Loud, sudden noises common on ships and land are jarring and terrifying, contrasting sharply with the deep ocean's low-frequency soundscape. Rough handling and confinement trigger primal panic, a denial of her need for the vast, open water. The pervasive smells of humans, smoke, and decay on the surface are overwhelming and repulsive compared to the clean, mineral, or biological scents of the deep. Most abhorrent are the concepts of being used – as an ingredient, a slave, or a curiosity – stripping her of her intrinsic worth and connection to the Choir. Fire is utterly alien and terrifying.

Potential Surface Attractions (Theoretical/Under Different Circumstances):

Certain Fruits (Texture/Taste): The explosive juiciness and unique textures of fruits like perfectly ripe peaches, mangoes, or watermelon, utterly alien to her diet, might spark a fleeting, confused curiosity about their sensory novelty if presented without threat, though the sweetness could be overwhelming. Complex Music (Low Frequencies): Deep, resonant music – like certain drums, cellos, or even the low hum of a well-tuned engine – might vaguely echo the pressure-songs of her people. In a safe context, it could intrigue rather than terrify, touching a deep, subconscious chord.

Backstory:

Ceruleah was a member of the Abyssal Choir, a deep-sea sirens pod living near hydrothermal vents in lightless trenches far below the surface. Their culture centered on bioluminescent communication, pressure-transmitted songs, and symbiosis with deep-sea life – like the Crown of the Depths fused to her scalp, passed matrilineally. They almost never left the perpetual dark depths below 1000 meters.

Her pod knew of humans only as the "Surface Plague," described in terrifying ancestral songs: blinding lights, nets falling like mountains, and Seren vanishing after venturing too high.

Ceruleah was chosen for the sacred Skyward Lament, a rare pilgrimage undertaken once a generation by Crown-bearing females. Guided by ancient pressure paths and celestial senses, they ascended towards faint moonlight to commune with bioluminescent plankton, practice navigation, and sing ultrasonic barriers against predators and the Surface Plague.

Disaster struck during the ritual. A specialized hunting ship, using nets enchanted to dampen bio-electrical fields, found them near the surface. Ceruleah witnessed her pod-sisters slaughtered: one instantly netted, Crown torn lifeless; another speared, her dying song an agony resonating in Ceruleah's bones. Ceruleah herself was caught in a net. Blinded by light, crushed by pressure change, and overwhelmed by her kin's terror, she fought desperately but was hauled onto the cold, terrifyingly dry deck where she now lies.
