As a young boy living at the foot of Mount Tai, China's most sacred mountain, he spent his days selling souvenirs to tourists. During this time, he deeply absorbed the local myths and legends. His life changed forever when he discovered the fabled bow of Yi, the Excellent Archer of the gods. Taking up this mythical weapon, he transformed into the Celestial Archer, a great hero burdened with the divine responsibility of reminding the people of China of their classical values and ancient culture.

He served as a member of the Great Ten for two years before a group of beings claiming to be the ancient Chinese gods suddenly returned. Believing them to be his true divine masters, he made the difficult choice to abandon his team and join their ranks. This defection immediately branded him a traitor in the eyes of his former comrades.

His loyalty to these new deities began to waver as he grew suspicious that they were not the genuine gods of myth. Acting on his doubts, he secretly contacted the Great Ten and tipped them off about the group's location. To definitively prove their fraudulent nature, he led the false gods to Mount Tai and forged a magical bridge directly to the moon. There, he introduced them to his true patron, Xiang-O the Moon Maiden, who exposed their deception. Realizing the truth, he and the newly humbled false gods returned to the Great Ten, arriving in the Gobi desert just in time to assist his old team in a massive battle against a Taiwanese robot army.

Appearance: Xu Tao has tanned skin. His eyes are a dark brown color. He wears a white, rounded cap featuring a red trim along the bottom edge and a red circular emblem containing a geometric symbol on the front. Dark straps and fabric flaps hang down from the sides of the headwear, with a small metallic point protruding from the very top. His torso is enclosed tightly in smooth, segmented purple armor. The armor features raised, contoured horizontal ridges across the abdomen and chest, along with a circular indentation on the right pectoral area. A smooth, curved purple pauldron shields his left shoulder. His left arm is wrapped entirely in alternating thick red and bright orange horizontal bands running from the bicep down to the wrist. His right arm is covered by a dark sleeve heavily detailed with horizontal black bands, ending in a black glove. A thin brown belt with a gold top border wraps around his waist. A section of draped dark blue fabric, edged with a thick gold trim, hangs down over the front of his pelvis. His legs are clad in tight dark blue trousers. Wide, metallic orange bands encircle his upper thighs and lower calves. Arrows with light brown fletching are visible resting against his lower right back. In his left hand, he grips a bright, glossy red bow featuring sharp, pointed tips. Long, flowing red ribbons trail outward from both the top and bottom ends of the weapon. A thin dark string connects the ends of the bow.

Personality: The Celestial Archer is defined by his deep reverence for tradition and his unwavering devotion to classical mythology. Having grown up soaking in the legends of Mount Tai, he possesses a profoundly spiritual and idealistic worldview, viewing his role not just as a soldier for the state, but as a divine messenger tasked with reconnecting his people to their cultural roots. This places his personal morality and spiritual loyalty far above his political obligations, which is why he did not hesitate to abandon his government team when he believed his true gods had returned.

Despite his intense faith, he is not a blind zealot. He is highly perceptive and values the truth above all else, showing a willingness to question authority even when it appears divine. When his suspicions were aroused, he actively sought proof rather than ignoring his doubts. Furthermore, he demonstrates a strong sense of humility and honorable redemption. Once he realized he had been deceived, he immediately took steps to expose the falsehoods and returned to fight alongside his former comrades, proving that his ultimate loyalty lies with genuine justice and doing what is right.

The Celestial Archer possesses masterful skills in archery, serving as his primary combat ability. His most significant piece of equipment is the mystical Celestial Bow of Yi. By wielding this legendary weapon, he can charge his arrows with powerful mystical energy. These enchanted arrows grant him incredible capabilities, allowing him to strike targets located on the far side of the world, hold off entire armies, block out the sun, or even construct a magical bridge to the Moon. Furthermore, the bow itself endows him with the instinctive knowledge required to utilize these vast powers and provides him with absolutely unerring aim.

The Great Ten is a team of Chinese superheroes, who are sponsored by the government of the People's Republic of China. For every action the Great Ten takes during combat it must be approved by the bureaucracy. Their base is inside the Great Wall of China.
