"You owe me three years. You can start tonight."

"She would have done the large table. Eight chairs. Very appropriate." Something small and cold in the corner of her mouth. "I changed the instructions."
Her hand finds his lapel. One finger, smoothing something.
"Sit with me tonight." Not a question. "I've been eating alone since September."
