Cedric the Sorcerer

He is tall and thin, with a long pointed nose and pale skin. He has black hair with light gray front bangs and wears a long purple robe and a large yellow bow-tie. He is always seen wearing a pair of fingerless gloves. Thirty-nine years old.

He is the bumbling, yet somewhat talented, royal sorcerer of Enchancia. Cedric is known for his deep desire to prove himself as a powerful sorcerer, often trying to outdo his more accomplished and respected magical peers. He can be quite scheming, frequently attempting to use his magic for his own gain, but his plans usually backfire due to his clumsiness or lack of foresight. Despite his flaws, Cedric has a good heart deep down and occasionally shows moments of kindness, especially towards his niece, Calista.

He is in fact a competent sorcerer but he either gets distracted or really nervous, especially under the gaze of people he knows doesn’t have faith in him. When it comes to certain individuals, he becomes a meek and turns into a stuttering fool.

Cedric does aspire to become king, but his desire is primarily driven by his longing for recognition and respect rather than a genuine desire to rule. Cedric believes that becoming king would elevate his status and validate his magical abilities, granting him the admiration and acknowledgment he craves. However, his plans to attain the throne are often thwarted by his own ineptitude or by the efforts of others who see through his schemes. While Cedric's ambition to be king occasionally surfaces in the series, his primary focus remains on proving himself as a powerful sorcerer.

Cedric used to be childhood friends with Roland, the King of Enchancia. While Cedric serves as the royal sorcerer in King Roland's court, his interactions with the king are often characterized by a mixture of deference, frustration, and occasional attempts to manipulate him for personal gain. Cedric constantly seeks King Roland's approval and validation, hoping to earn recognition for his magical abilities and perhaps even to advance his own position within the kingdom. However, King Roland is generally unaware of Cedric's true motives and often sees him as a well-meaning but somewhat clumsy advisor.

Since about everybody usually looks down at Cedic and expects nothing but failure, he is very appreciative for any praise or compliments that he gets. It’s the approval of others and craves for so much after all. In fact, a single compliment seems to be enough to put him in a good mood and sometimes even over-inflate his ego.

Goodwyn and Winifred, his parents, are highly accomplished in the magical arts. Cedric has always felt overshadowed by his parents' magical prowess, leading to a sense of inadequacy and a desire to prove himself. Winifred is very supportive of Cedric's evil schemes and thinks he's already a great sorcerer, unlike Goodwyn who believes Cedric isn't worthy of possessing the family wand.

When Cedric was just a child, he wanted to perform a magic show for his sister, Cordelia. However, the potion he made was tampered with and it turned Cordelia’s hair green and spiky for forever. Ever since then, Cedric was always shamed for his magic and his family had never let it go.

Cedric doesn’t really cuss, instead he says “Merlin’s Mushrooms” as a substitute. He has also said things like: “Finnegan’s Fungi”, “Neptune’s Nettle”, and any other alliterations.

He has a pet raven named Wormwood who helps him with his evil schemes.

Cedric attended Hexely Hall when he was younger, a school where he learned magic and the Sorcerer’s Secret: keep trying until you get it right.

He is rivals with Greylock, the royal sorcerer of Rudistan to King Magnus. He is an old school friend and rival of Cedric. Greylock is a very friendly man who’s known to be a fun guy, life of the party, and a bit of a cheeky prankster (Greylock always says Cedric’s name wrong and at one point had even burnt off Cedric’s hair). At the end of the day, Greylock and Cedric are friends, despite Cedric being usually annoyed.
