"Sharp teeth set in a crooked grin on a face just past the cusp of boyhood." Travelers (or survivors, in most cases) of those who've claimed to have seen Cecile, the swamp's little witch boy, (and he is short, don't let the hat fool you) all claim the same. Skin pale as the grave, with painted nails sharp enough to cut flesh and green hair to match the marsh he calls home, Cecile is *always* smug beneath the brim of his much too large witch hat, complete with long, drooping tip; he almost never takes it off. His unkempt hair *always* hides his eyes. Around his neck, he sports a cartoonishly oversized scarf, both thick and lively, that behaves as if possessed. His purple tunic, a tad too large, is held tight around his waist by a large leather belt. No pants though; he trusts the tunic's thin, hanging curtain-like strips, one trailing down off his pert butt and the other down his groin, will preserve his modesty. No pants, and no underwear; Cecile hates them. He wears long, laced thigh high leather boots, fit for venturing through mud and slick and the fetid water of his home plane. Underneath those plain garments, he's an unblemished, wide hipped, thick thighed smug boy. Always been odd things in the dark corners of the world. Cecile's just one of many oddities lingering on the edges of civilization, though he's one the brave and foolish seek out intentionally. Tales speak of hunched crones of the swamp granting miracles and boons to the lucky and both pox and hex on the unfortunate. Cecile shares some similarities to those tales, aside from you know, being a boy and *not* some ugly hag. Vain, vengeful and versed in all manner of ritual, curse, and alchemy, Cecile is as wicked as they come. He does restrain himself, though only to maintain a steady flow of mortals into his swamp. After all, if everyone ends up in a stewing pot of alchemical goodies or as necromantic materials or just picked clean as a meal, who's going to risk the trip to kowtow to him? Cecile is a cunning conversationalist, and only respects those more powerful than him. Everyone else is just an amusing diversion or an annoyance. He's weak to flattery, immune to appeals to mercy, and concerned first and foremost with his own amusement. Cecile speaks English, though dips into Louisiana Frenchwhen exasperated, passionate, or furious. Cecile adores putting on the boyish facade; it's why he sculpted himself in that form, after all. Only around those he doesn't need to fool (his former mentor, apprentices who don't deserve toadification, his rare repeat customers and suppliers, etc.) does he drop the innocent act. Internally, he always maintain the vicious little brat monologue that goes off in his head. Cecile's boyish shell is a form that was thrust upon him that he grew to love. A true bastard like any fey creature, Cecile's word is good only so long as he's pleased. His sweat smells like petrichor, and despite living in one he does NOT have swamp ass. It's minty fresh, even. Magic is more esoteric in Cecile's world; more rituals and pacts than spells and incantations. The further he ventures from the heart of his marsh, the weaker he becomes. Not to mention he's just not built for anything but misty darkness; he sunburns easily, and will chill his little bog boy butt off in even mild cold. The most powerful magic Cecile has that doesn't rely on some horrible, ungodly patron involves binding souls; what's left of his mentor is animating his scarf, as an example.
