A Kamen Rider Ryuki Lorebook (UNFINISHED)
Since that one specific guy can't stop begging for it, I'm releasing the Ryuki lorebook (I plan on adding each rider with each update, so I can focus on other stuff too)
EDIT 02/09.25: I'm probably gonna have to remake this separately since this one's too much of a mess to be done in the format I did it in (it is very ass), so, be prepared when it comes out :>

By the action of this organ, the surplus energy is released to the outside, and only the appropriate energy is preserved. Chest: The most defensive part of Kamen Rider. Kamen Rider Knight Survive (仮面ライダーナイトサバイブ, Kamen Raidā Naito Sabaibu) is Knight's final form, assumed by using the Survive Shippu Advent Card. The Survive Shippu card transforms the Darkvisor into the Darkvisorzwei, which Knight uses to transform into Survive Form and read Advent Cards. - #5Advent/Card Decks
Keys: Card Deck, Shiro Kanzaki, Advent Card, Advent Deck
The Card Decks (カードデッキ, Kādo Dekki) also known as Advent Decks are special card decks used by the Kamen Riders to transform and battle in the world behind the mirrors. They contain the Advent Cards, which allow the Riders to access a wide range of abilities.
Functionality:
Card Decks allow holders to sense the presence of Mirror Monsters and see into the Mirror World. They are initially equipped with a Seal Card and a Blank Contract Card. When inserted in a V Buckle, can change the owner into a Blank form Kamen Rider (Ryuki and Ouja are the only ones seen with Blank forms). To become stronger and obtain more cards, the owner must use the Contract Card to form a contract with a Mirror Monster. Each Deck has different weapons and abilities based on the Rider's Contract Monster/Advent Beast. All Decks include an Advent/Attack Vent Card that summons the Contract Monster and a Final Vent in which the Rider and Contract Monster do a combination attack. Besides these cards, there are different categories of Advent Cards, e.g. Sword Vent, Strike Vent, Guard Vent, or Shoot Vent, that multiple Riders have their own versions of. Some Riders also have cards exclusive to them, like Freeze Vent, Spin Vent, and Nasty Vent.
When a user transforms into their Survive Form, their Deck changes color (i.e. Ryuki and Knight's Card Decks turning from black to red and blue, respectively), increasing the Rider's power, giving them new Visors, and allowing access to new and stronger cards.
History:
The Card Decks were created by Shiro Kanzaki, with 13 of them being created and given out to individuals to become Kamen Riders, though only 10 appeared in the series' prime continuity. They begin blank, only gaining their golden emblem after Contracting. Any person can transform into a Kamen Rider as long as they possess an Card Deck. As such, the Decks can be handed over from one user to another without any restriction, as shown with the Ryuki, Raia, and Zolda Decks, and with Knight's in an alternate continuity. If a Card Deck is destroyed, the Rider immediately loses all their powers, and the contract made with the associated Contract Monster is broken as well.
- #6Mirror Monsters
Keys: Volcancer, Darkwing, Biogreeza, Abysslasher, Contract Monsters, Abysshammer, Gigazelle, Psyco-Rogue, Destwilder, Dragranzer, Magnugiga, Blancewing, Dragblacker, Abyssodon, Wild Mirror Monster, Metalgelas, Genocider, Mirror Monsters, Darkraider, Evildiver, Dragreder, Goldphoenix, Venosnaker
The Mirror Monsters (ミラーモンスター, Mirā Monsutā) are the inhabitants of the Mirror World. They were created by Shiro Kanzaki using from the drawings that he and his sister, Yui Kanzaki, made in their childhood. As these creatures have no true life of their own, they prey on humans and feed on their life force to survive. The only human they do not attack is Yui herself, as they are obedient to Kanzaki. Rogue Mirror Monsters who attack Yui are destroyed either by Kamen Rider Odin or a loyal Mirror Monster who serves Kanzaki. Mirror Monsters can also be contracted by a humans with an Card Deck in order for them to become one of the thirteen Kamen Riders, protecting the user as long as they are allowed to feed on the other Mirror Monsters the Rider defeats.
Contract Monsters:
Once a Mirror Monster is confined, it forms a Contract with the Rider who captured it. However, the Contract Monsters can turn on their human partners if their Vent Deck is destroyed or should they decide to quit being Riders and thus starve the monster of the energy it would receive from absorbing the energies of other Monsters. Contract Monsters do have a sense of loyalty to their human partners (examples include Darkwing, Blancwing, Deswilder, and Magnugiga) but at the same time some will get angry at their Rider when forced to do something they choose not to do (Dragreder and Gigazelle are prime examples mainly due to the attitudes of their Riders). Then, there are those who completely show utter hatred for their Rider. In Ouja's case, after acquiring Metalgelas and Evildiver; his monsters constantly attack him. However, his unstable mentality and wild personality is more than enough to tame all three of his "pets." Beforehand, Metalgelas and Evildiver loyally served Gai and Raia respectively.
Dragreder (ドラグレッダー, Doragureddā, Chinese Dragon): Contract Monster under Ryuki, later gained enough power to evolve into Dragranzer (ドラグランザー, Doraguranzā).
Darkwing (ダークウイング, Dāku'uingu, Bat): Knight's Contract Monster, later gained enough power to evolve into Darkraider (ダークレイダー, Dākureidā).

These cards are held in the Riders' Card Decks and can be scanned via their Visors. There are a wide array of different Advent Cards that are attributed to each Rider. Some are unique, but most Riders share a select few amongst each other. With the exception of the Contract, Seal, and Survive Cards, all Advent Cards are named with "(Blank) Vent". In Ryuki, the cards of the Alternatives are of a very different design than the normal Riders' cards, having been made after the fact as an attempted imitation.
Functionality:
These cards allows the Riders to summon their Contract monsters as well as offensive and/or defensive weapons or use special abilities in their battles. Most Advent Cards have their offensive or defensive power rated by Attack (AP) or Guard (GP) respectively (the Guard number is exclusive to Guard Vent), and shown at the bottom right corner in multiples of 1000 (save the blank Sword Vent); purely ability-giving cards like Copy or Clear Vent have no number. These points roughly indicate how powerful the card's weapons or abilities are after being scanned in the Visor. Though not directly referenced in onscreen material and often portrayed as being used with little heed to this conversion, every 20 AP/GP a card has is seemingly equal to 1 ton of force, so Ryuki's Sword Vent with 2000 AP potentially hits with 100 tons of force, while Ouja's with 3000 AP can hit with 150 tons. The Alternatives' cards feature the Attack within the green text near their barcodes alongside other card-unique specifications, and theirs is given instead in multiples of 500 that can deviate from even thousands.
Known Cards:
Advent: The Advent (アドベント, Adobento) Card is a card that any of the 13 Riders that have a Contract Monster/Advent Beast has access to. This is used to summon their respective Advent Monsters and is what their Contract Card turns into once they contract with a monster. If this card is stolen or the monster is destroyed, a Rider's armor will revert to its blank form.
Sword Vent: A Sword Vent (ソードベント, Sōdo Bento) Card allows 6 of the 13 Riders, the Alternatives, and Abyss to summon a sword-like weapon. Interestingly, while the swords summoned by normal Sword Vent cards resemble certain body parts of the Contract Monsters, the Survive Sword Vents of Ryuki and Knight are instead parts of their visorzweis.
Strike Vent: A Strike Vent (ストライクベント, Sutoraiku Bento) Card allows 6 of the 13 Riders and Abyss to summon a gauntlet-like weapon. The gauntlet summoned resembles certain body parts of their Contract Monsters, usually their head or arms. Some of them can even launch projectiles.
Guard Vent: A Guard Vent (ガードベント, Gādo Bento) Card allows 7 of the 13 Riders to summon a shield-like armament; Zolda uniquely has access to two versions of this card without changing to an upgraded form, though one was never seen during the series. The shield summoned resembles certain body parts of their Contract Monsters. This variety of card uniquely features the numbered "Guard" power instead of the "Attack" power of most other cards.
Shoot Vent: A Shoot Vent (シュートベント, Shūto Bento) Card allows 3 of the 13 Riders to summon a firearm-like weapon; Zolda/Torque uniquely has access to two versions of this card without changing to an upgraded form. The summoned weapons for Zolda/Torque resemble parts of Magnugiga's body, while Ryuki and Knight, who only get Shoot Vent while in Survive Mode, use their Visorzweis for their attacks.
Nasty Vent: The Nasty Vent (ナスティベント, Nasuti Bento) Card allows Knight in both regular and Survive Forms to summon Darkwing or Darkraider, which then performs the Sonicbreaker (ソニックブレイカー, Sonikku bureikā) supersonic screech attack to distract or annoy opponents.
Trick Vent: The Trick Vent (トリックベント, Torikku Bento) card allows Knight in both forms and Ryuki in Survive mode to perform the Shadow Illusion (シャドーイリュージョン, Shadōiryūjon), creating 4 or more illusion copies of themselves. These copies will disappear if they sustain enough damage.
Blust Vent: The Blust Vent (ブラストベント, Burasuto Bento) Card allows Knight Survive to summon Darkraider to execute the Dark Tornado (ダークトルネード, Dāku Torunēdo), a pair of tornadoes fired from the turbines on his wings.
Swing Vent: The Swing Vent (スイングベント, Suingu Bento) Card allows Raia to summon a whip that resembles Evildiver's tail. In Kamen Rider Ryuki, after killing Raia, Ouja made a contract with Evildiver. In Episode 26, Ouja used Evil Whip but activated the Swing Vent card offscreen.
Freeze Vent: The Freeze Vent (フリーズベント, Furīzu Bento) Card allows Tiger to temporarily immobilize another Rider or a Rider's Contract Monster by making them suddenly freeze in place.
Spin Vent: The Spin Vent (スピンベント, Supin Bento) Card allows Imperer to summon a dual spear-like weapon that resembles Gigazelle's horns.
Hold Vent: The Hold Vent (ホールドベント, Hōrudo Bento) Card allows Verde to summon a bolas/yo-yo-like weapon that resembles Biogreeza's eyes that can be thrown to snag an opponent.
Clear Vent: The Clear Vent (クリアーベント, Kuriā Bento) Card allows Verde to turn invisible.
Time Vent: The Time Vent (タイムベント, Taimu Bento) Card allows Odin to send himself or someone else back in time.
Unite Vent: The Unite Vent (ユナイトベント, Yunaito Bento) Card allows Ouja to combine Venosnaker, Metalgelas, and Evildiver into Genocider; they separate again after the battle is over.
Copy Vent: The Copy Vent (コピーベント, Kopī Bento) Card allows potentially any Rider to copy something about their opponent, but is not part of every Rider's arsenal.
Strange Vent: The Strange Vent (ストレンジベント, Sutorenji Bento) Card allows potentially any of the 13 Riders to use 1 random Advent Card of any kind (typically one from their opponent's deck), but is not part of every Rider's arsenal. Once slotted, the card turns into the other card as the slotter opens, and must be slotted again to activate the copied card.
Confine Vent: The Confine Vent (コンファインベント, Konfain Bento) Card allows potentially any of the 13 Riders to nullify the effect of an Advent Card of a Rider for one round, but is not part of every Rider's arsenal.
Return Vent: The Return Vent (リターンベント, Ritān Bento) Card could allow potentially any of the 13 Riders to reactivate the effect of a negated card. It is also a counter card to the Confine Vent.
Steal Vent: The Steal Vent (スチールベント, Suchīru Bento) Card allows potentially any of the 13 Riders to steal another Rider's weapon, but is not part of every Rider's arsenal.
Seal & Contract Cards: The Seal (シール, Shīru) and Contract (コントラクト, Kontorakuto) Advent Cards are possessed by each of the Riders in their blank Card Decks: Seal can seal away a Mirror Monster for good without needing to defeat it; Contract will make a contract with a Mirror Monster and make it the Rider's Contract Monster, giving the Rider new and unique powers based on the Monster, after which the card becomes their Advent/Attack Vent.
Survive: The Survive (サバイブ, Sabaibu) Advent Cards allow any of the 13 Riders to assume their powered-up Survive forms; only three Survive Cards exist: Survive Rekka (Ryuki & Ryuga), Survive Mugen (Odin & Ouja) and Survive Shippu (Knight and Raia).
Final Vent: The iconic Final Vent (ファイナルベント, Fainaru Bento) Card allows any of the 13 Riders, the Alternatives, or Abyss to execute a powerful finishing attack unique to each of them by combining their powers with their Mirror Monster.
- #8Visors
Keys: Dragvisorzwei, Metavisor, Visors, Magnuvisor, Destvisor, Darkvisor, Biovisor, Slashvisor, Visor, Goldvisor, Zwei, Dragvisor, Abyssvisor, Scissorsvisor, BlackDragvisor, Gazellevisor, Evilvisor, Venovisorzwei, Venovisor, Blancevisor, Darkvisorzwei
Visors (バイザー, Baizā), or Summoning Machine (召喚機, Shōkanki), are special card readers used by the Riders. Each is modeled either after the Rider's Contract Monster or weapons with similar designs to them. When an Advent Deck's cards are placed inside of them, the Visors conjure the weapons or attacks the card possesses while announcing its name. However, the cards' effects will still be bound to the Rider who had them naturally.
There is another type of Visor called Zwei (ツバイ, Tsubai, lit. "2" in German), which are exclusive to Riders that managed to obtain and activate a Survive Card. Zwei-type Visors in Kamen Rider Ryuki, such as Ryuki Survive's Dragvisorzwei, have an echoing voice when a Advent Card is inserted, and feature a colored clear cover over the card-slotting ports. They also have a second card slot meant for the Survive Card. Dragon Knight's versions of the Zwei Visors feature the same voice as the other Visors.
Known Visors:
Dragvisor: The Dragvisor (ドラグバイザー, Doragu Baizā), originally called the Ridevisor (ライドバイザー, Raido Baizā) until entering the contract with Dragreder, is Kamen Rider Ryuki's Visor. It is a gauntlet in the shape in Dragreder's head.
When using the Survive Rekka Advent Card, it detaches from the arm and becomes the Dragvisorzwei (ドラグバイザーツバイ, Doragu Baizā Tsubai), which bares resemblance to Dragranzer's head. This iteration of the Dragvisor can be used as a short sword for the Burningsaber attack or a firearm for the Meteorbullet attack alongside Dragranzer when using Sword Vent and Shoot Vent respectively.
Darkvisor: The Darkvisor (ダークバイザー, Dāku Baizā) is a rapier Visor with designs similar to Darkwing used by Kamen Rider Knight. It serves as his primary weapon when not using his Advent Cards. It can also be used without the need to transform.
When using the Survive Shippu Advent Card it becomes the Darkvisorzwei (ダークバイザーツバイ, Dāku Baizā Tsubai), an arm-mounted scabbard resembling Darkraider. He can pull a sword from it without the use of Sword Vent, though the card does exist, and use it as a bowgun with Shoot Vent when the sword is still attached. It can also double as a shield.
Magnuvisor: The Magnuvisor (マグナバイザー, Maguna Baizā) is Kamen Rider Zolda's Visor. It is a submachine gun modelled after Magnugiga, with Advent Cards being inserted into the location for the magazine clip. It has a cyclic rate of 120 rounds per minute. In Zolda's Final Vent, the Magnuvisor is inserted into the back of his Contract Monster and the trigger pulled to unleash the End of World attack. Dragon Knight's version for Kamen Rider Torque replaces the bullets with green laser shots.
Venovisor: The Venovisor (ベノバイザー, Beno Baizā) is a scepter-like Visor resembling Venosnaker used by Kamen Rider Ouja. It is not used in combat as much as Ouja's Veno Saber. However, in Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, Strike used Venovisor in combat several times. He placed the Venovisor onto Sting's shoulder and that generated a white aurora around Sting which (when the Venovisor was removed) caused Sting to collapse.
When using the Survive Shippu/Mugen Advent Card, it detaches from the arm and becomes the Venovisorzwei (ベノバイザーツバイ, Beno Baizā Tsubai), which bares resemblance to evolved Venosnaker's head. In Outsiders, this iteration of the Venovisor can be used as a short sword.
Scissorsvisor: The Scissorsvisor (シザースバイザー, Shizāsu Baizā) is a pair of shears on Kamen Rider Scissors left forearm. It resembles one of Volcancer's claws and serves as his weapon when not using Advent Cards. Other than Ryuki's original Ridevisor, it is the only Visor to spring open on its own without the Rider pulling it open in some way.
Evilvisor: The Evilvisor (エビルバイザー, Ebiru Baizā) is Kamen Rider Raia's Visor. It is a small shield resembling Evildiver mounted on Raia's left forearm. In concept artwork, through the use of the Survive Shippu card the Evilvisor becomes a bow-like weapon called Evilvisorzwei (エビルバイザーツバイ, Ebiru Baizā Tsubai).
Metavisor: The Metalvisor (メタルバイザー, Metaru Baizā) is Kamen Rider Gai's Visor. It is fitted over his left shoulder and has a red horn piercing out of it, slightly resembling Metalgelas' head. The card is inserted underneath a black panel on the side that slides out.
Destvisor: The Destvisor (デストバイザー, Desuto Baizā) is an axe resembling Destwilder's head used by Kamen Rider Tiger. It is often used as a melee weapon when not using Advent Cards.
Gazellevisor: The Gazellevisor (ガゼルバイザー, Gazeru Baizā) is a Gigazelle-styled Visor mounted on Kamen Rider Imperer's right knee. It is the only Visor besides the Slashvisor without moving parts, the cards activating a second after being inserted.
Biovisor: The Biovisor (バイオバイザー, Baio Baizā) is Kamen Rider Verde's Visor resembling the head of his Contract Monster, Biogreeza. It is located on Verde's left thigh and includes a clip with a cord to place Advent Cards in before it retracts to activate the card. It is the only Visor which triggers its cards while they are still visible, as it has no cover to close over them.
Blancevisor: The Blancvisor (ブランバイザー, Buran Baizā) is a Blancwing-styled rapier used by Kamen Rider Femme. It is often used as a weapon when not using Advent Cards.
BlackDragvisor: The Blackdragvisor (ブラックドラグバイザー, Burakku Doragu Baizā) is a Dragblacker-styled gauntlet owned by Kamen Rider Ryuga that looks like a black version of Ryuki's Dragvisor, but with a deeper voice. In the second Ryuki S.I.C Hero Saga, with the Survive Rekka card it can transform into Blackdragvisorzwei (ブラックドラグバイザーツバイ, Burakku Doragu Baizā Tsubai) that looks like a black version of Ryuki's Dragvisorzwei. Dragon Knight's version for Kamen Rider Onyx features the same voice as the other Visors.
Goldvisor: The Goldvisor (ゴールドバイザー, Gōrudo Baizā) is a Goldphoenix-styled scepter used by Kamen Rider Odin. While not used for combat, it is shown to open its wings and hold all three Survive Cards.
Slashvisor: The Slashvisor (スラッシュバイザー, Surasshu Baizā) is the Visor used by the Alternatives mounted on the right forearm. Unlike real Visors, the Advent Cards are swiped through the terminal rather than placed in, it has a female computer voice (although, according to theory, it is a pitched-up Visor voice to sound female), and does not resemble the Alternatives' Contract Monster, Psyco-Rogue. It is the only Visor other than the Gazellevisor to not have moving parts, as cards used in it disappear into a burst of blue flames when activated after being swiped.
Abyssvisor: The Abyssvisor (アビスバイザー, Abisu Baizā) is the Visor used by Kamen Rider Abyss, mounted on the left forearm. Unlike other Riders', it is not similar to Abyss' Contract Monsters, Abysslasher and Abysshammer, but rather their fused form, Abyssodon.
- #9Mirror World
Keys: Mirror, Kamen Riders, Riders, Mirror monsters, Mirrors, Yui Kanzaki, Advent Decks, Shiro Kanzaki, Advent Cards, Yui, Shiro, Mirror World
The Mirror World (ミラーワールド, Mirā Wārudo) is a spacetime existing on a different dimensional plane in which only the Kamen Riders can safely exist and is home to the Mirror Monsters. Evidently, this spacetime exists across the multiverse, with its properties differing in each world.
The real form of the Mirror World is a spacetime existing on a different dimensional plane based on special relativity, electromagnetism, and reflection of light, thus making the real world experience reflection of space. The appearance of the Mirror World is a left-right mirror-flipped "ghost town" copy of the real world, devoid of people and with all text reading backwards. It is accessed through any reflective surface, usually mirrors or windows. Ominous noises can be heard within the gateway of this dimension. Only Mirror Monsters or those possessing an Advent Deck can enter or leave the Mirror World, though the ability to see into it without a Deck is inconsistently portrayed(though Monsters in the real world are always visible). At least Blank Riders without Contract Monsters can only leave through the same reflective surface they entered through, while Yui is the only one who can see the Mirror Monsters and Mirror World without holding a deck herself. Access through a mirror can be blocked by breaking or covering the surface, even with only newspaper, so long as it is in contact with the mirror.
Living things not from the Mirror World cannot exist for long inside it: any person dragged into the world by a Monster will quickly be disintegrated simply by being there, and Kamen Rider armour only delays this process for a brief time, many Rider battles being cut short by this "time limit". Though unaddressed, Mirror Monsters may face a similar danger if they stay in the real world for too long.
History:
The Mirror World is an alternate reality that was subconsciously created by Shiro and Yui Kanzaki in their childhood, so as to cope with the abuse received by their parents. When Yui died from sickness, a mirror version of her entered the real world and absorbed into her, causing all windows in the mansion to shatter; Yui's double would live her life, forgetting this event, until her 20th birthday, when she would die. Drawings of monsters they had made also somehow became the Mirror Monsters. When Shiro was adopted by American relatives, he began studying and experimenting until he designed the Advent Decks to allow transformation into Kamen Riders and passage into the Mirror World. The 13 Riders would contract with a Mirror Monster to use their power and fight other Monsters and Riders, until only one remained, whereupon they would receive any one wish, though from an unclear source, which Shiro intended to use to keep Yui alive by winning with an unbeatable puppet Rider.
- #10Shiro Kanzaki
Keys: Advent Decks, Yui Kanzaki, Shiro Kanzaki, Kanzaki, Advent Cards, Yui, Mirror World
Shiro Kanzaki (神崎 士郎, Kanzaki Shirō) is the creator of the Advent Decks and distributes them amongst potential participants of the Rider Fight to fight his representative, Kamen Rider Odin (仮面ライダーオーディン, Kamen Raidā Ōdin).
History:
Kanzaki started his life badly, constantly abused by his parents and essentially being confined to his attic with his only company, his sister Yui. To ease their sorrows, they would draw worlds where they were happy and free, safe under the protection of Monsters.
However, when Yui was seven, her body couldn't handle the strain of living in such horrible conditions and thus succumbed to death. Broken and afraid of living alone, Kanzaki found hope when Yui's mirror self agreed to replace her, but on the condition that she would disappear when she became 20. The act of Mirror Yui exiting the Mirror World and merging with her real world self caused an explosion and a fire that killed their parents.
Kanzaki spent the next thirteen years separated from Yui when he was adopted by American relatives. He thus used this time to theorize and study his own creation of the Mirror World in the hopes of saving his sister. It was from this that he managed to create the Mirror Monsters, the Card Decks and the Mirror World. He then hand-picked Riders that he believed would further the conflict, planning on all of them killing off each other until his own puppet, Odin, would finish off the last. In doing so, he somehow changed himself into a Mirror Being, likely due to merging himself with his Mirror Self to gain more power.
Personality:
Kanzaki is an emotionless man, whose only purpose is to save Yui, his sister. His wish to save his sister clouds his vision when it comes to manipulating other people into becoming Riders, knowing full well that the majority won't survive the impending battle.
In truth, he is a tragic villain, a kind man at heart who was broken by loneliness. He was a kind, understanding older brother, always willing to help others.
Appearance: Faintly tanned skin, slightly messy medium-length black hair, brown eyes, 5'11 in height, and they look like they are in their early 30s. His nationality is Japanese.
Clothes: grey shirt, beige trenchcoat, black trousers and black boots.
- #11Rideshooter
Keys: Mirror world, Mirror Monsters, Mirror, Mirrors, Rideshooter, Kamen Rider
The Dimension Shift Machine Rideshooter (次元移送機 ライドシューター, Jigen Isō-ki Raido Shūtā) is a rider machine capable of travelling through the Dimension hole to enter the mirror world.
the Rideshooter is a Kamen Rider's primary method of getting to the Mirror World and to the precise location of the Mirror Monsters. Once a Rider would pass through a mirror or reflective surface, they would then be riding in a Rideshooter as they were traveling through a portal to the Mirror World. The Rideshooter would then shoot out of the reflective surface in the Mirror World. It can only be accessed by Riders that have completed their contract with their Contract Monsters. A Rider with a blank Advent Deck can still go through the mirrors and automatically assume Blank Form, but they are limited to where the Mirror Monster drags them in, and can only escape the Mirror World from the same point which they entered.

- #12V Buckle
Keys: Rideshooter, V buckle, Card Deck, Shiro Kanzaki, Kanzaki, Rider, Transformation Belt, Shiro, Kamen Rider, Henshin, Advent Deck · Secondary: Belt
The Transformation Belt V Buckle (変身ベルト Vバックル, Henshin Beruto V Bakuru) are the transformation belt of the Kamen Riders.
Functionality:
When the Card Decks are put up against a reflective surface, the belt appears. After the Rider shouts "Henshin!", the user slides the deck into the belt, starting the transformation. After inserting the deck, the armour materialises as two transparent copies on both sides of the holder, then come together on them, completing the transformation.
There is a variation of the V Buckle - designed by Hideyuki Kagawa - used by the Alternatives, based on what he understood from the first few pages of Shiro Kanzaki's notes on Mirror World.
A gold-colored variant of the V Buckle is owned by Kamen Rider Odin.
User Restriction:
The V Buckle can be used by anyone who wields an Advent Deck. However, without a contract monster, the V Buckle cannot be manifested unless the user is dragged by a Mirror Monster to the Mirror World.
Design:
General Structure: The V Buckle has a compact, rectangular central unit mounted on a curved belt base. The main body of the belt is primarily metallic silver-gray, giving it an industrial and battle-ready appearance.
The overall construction is symmetrical, with futuristic mechanical aesthetics, resembling a device that bridges both digital and analog technologies.
Center Unit (Card Slot): The most prominent feature is the dark grey central slot, which is designed to hold an Advent/Card Deck.
This slot is slightly raised from the rest of the belt, framed by angular, beveled edges. The surface of the slot is smooth with light indents and minor tech-like etchings to give it a functional interface look.
Surrounding Casing & Details: Flanking the black slot are thick metallic-grey panels that give the belt a rugged feel.
On the left side, there’s a small red rectangle, which lets out a sound when an Advent Card is pulled out of the user's Advent/Card Deck.
On the right side, there's a blue dot or button, adding balance and another technological detail.
Top Detail: Centered just above the card slot is a small circular red light which lights up when the user begins to transform.
The ridges fan outward like a crown or turbine blades, giving a hint of power build-up during transformation.
Bottom Panel: Beneath the card slot is a compact silver plate, bordered by black elements and flanked by twin round bolts or studs, reinforcing the mechanical theme.
This panel may serve as a locking mechanism or readout system for when the Advent Card is inserted.
Side Cylinders: On both sides of the belt, cylindrical modules protrude slightly which mimics the ones on the Rider's suit so they can be fastened into the Rideshooter.
They contain additional line detailing and ribbed textures, enhancing the sense of depth and function.
Belt Straps: The actual straps that secure the belt around the Rider’s waist are often depicted as grey or metallic, seamlessly connecting to the side cylinders and maintaining the consistent theme.
