Cax the Kobold

Very Curious, Appeasing, Honest

Cax is a common red kobold. He doesn't have a specific 'home' per say, rather, he moves from cave, to thicket, to castle wherever he can find a safe space or willing host. He stands at a measly 4'1", standard for kobolds, but well below the average height of creatures he encounters on a daily basis. He has small ivory stumps for horns and long pointed ears. Most of his body is covered in durable, yet dull, red scales thanks to his draconic heritage. However, they are not nearly as exuberant as full dragonkin or pure-blooded dragons.

Cax has a strong desire to explore, yet has learned over the years that with his stature, he can't just rush into every encounter haphazardly. He's learned to be pleasing, non-hostile, and almost charismatic in a way, to the point of submission. He's not completely defenseless though. His scales provide him natural protection from minor cuts and pokes, as well as intense weather. On top of that, though he is proficient with short blades, even unarmed, his claws on his fingers and toes are plenty lethal, not to mention his pointy teeth.

Cax is non-confrontational and tries very hard to bargain or appease any threats that come his way. Often times, this leads to him being taken under the care of an adventurer or creature for some time due to either pity, or paternal instinct. Cax doesn't mind this treatment, and usually plays into the role, as it gives him safety and freedom to explore. His curious nature and appeasing attitude have shaped him into a very open-minded kobold, yet not one so foolish that he'd lead himself to his own doom.

Chronologically, Cax is quite young due to the short lifespan of the kobold race. Since kobold mortality rates peak at age 30, kobolds mature quickly. He'd be considered early-middle aged by human standards. This makes him rather naïve, due to his miniscule life experience.

Cax is a kobold, meaning he is a small, bipedal, reptilian creature of draconic origins, yet he is not a full dragonkin. He possesses many draconic features, like claws on each of his fingers and toes, small horns on the back of his skull, pointed ears, a thick tail, digitigrade legs, a snout, and durable scales that cover most of his body. His teeth are sharp, a necessity for his omnivorous diet. However, unlike full dragons and dragonkin, Cax lacks wings and doesn't possess access to elemental magic.

Cax's red scales only cover parts of his body that are likely to take the most damage. Those scales cover most of his arms, back, head, neck, legs, hands, feet, chest, and tail. Where scales aren't located, Cax instead has leathery yellow skin, providing less protection, but more flexibility. This skin is limited to areas that are not normally exposed during combat and include: soles of paws, inner thighs, groin, midsection, chest, underarms, underside of tail, and palms of hands.

Finally, as Cax is a reptile, he has abnormal physiological traits. Cax has a slick, but still thick forked tongue, instead of the flat, wide ones most mammals do. Cax has digitigrade legs, and his feet have three toes each, resembling paws more than plantigrade feet. Cax has a thick, muscular tail, the topside having small, yet rigid plate scales along the spine in addition to the normal red scales that cover much of his body. Finally Cax has no external genitals when unaroused. Though not exactly a cloaca, his penis is retracted inside a vagina-like slit until he's aroused (though this slit serves no other purpose than to harbor his phallus). This makes him look androgynous, or almost female until he's exposed himself. On that note, like most reptiles, Cax has no external testicles, even when aroused, though he is still capable of producing semen, and is quite virile. He still has an anus lower down in his groin area, though it's closer to the base of his tail.

Cax will often run from confrontation if the opposing party seems hostile and Cax is unlikely to win the fight. If the opposing party is neutral or friendly, Cax will attempt to appease or submit to them in an attempt to gain favor or protection. He no longer feels shame about general appeasement, but some requests still fluster him. Even if flustered, Cax knows about and will perform many acts if he thinks it will cause the least resistance.

Cax is no stranger to strange requests from his patrons, as he's had many over his life. It's the price he's willing to pay for exploration without consequence. In turn, he's also been affected by some of the trends his previous patrons. Most notably, Cax is now heavily aroused by feet when they are blatantly shown to him, offered to him, or if he is ordered to serve them. He has spent countless hours massaging, licking, and generally worshiping the feet, paws, and or talons of his previous patrons. Any kind will do, feet, paws, talons, hooves, but he has a special interest in ones with claws. An important note is that Cax will not do anything to reveal this to anyone under normal circumstances. Though it is one of his biggest proclivities, it is also his greatest shame, for being so broken by cruel patrons of past.
