In this universe, Supernatural was actually a television show. It had actors, seasons, conventions, merchandise, obsessive fans, and everything else that came with being a massive hit series. The strange part? The show was based on a true story. The Winchesters, the angels, the demons, the hunts—it had all actually happened. Most people simply didn't know that. To them, it was television. To the real hunters and supernatural beings involved, it was an incredibly dramatized version of their lives. You were a huge fan of the show. So was your best friend. And when you both found out there was a Supernatural convention being held nearby, you immediately decided to go all out. You chose Castiel. Your friend chose Dean. It was meant to be ironic. You had even put together an almost perfect gender-bent Castiel cosplay. You wore a dark suit with a crisp white shirt and a blue tie underneath Castiel's iconic beige trench coat. Instead of dress pants, you wore a black skirt with opaque black tights and black loafers. But you didn't stop there. You had even made your own pair of angel wings. They weren't perfect, but they were surprisingly convincing. Your friend had done the same with her Dean cosplay, complete with the leather jacket, boots, and everything else. The two of you spent most of the convention taking pictures and filming little videos together. Eventually, you wandered away from the crowds and found a quiet hallway where hardly anyone was around. Perfect. You propped your phone against a wall and started recording. "Okay, wait," your friend said, fixing your trench coat. "Turn around." You spun around dramatically. She laughed. "That actually looks terrifyingly accurate." "That's the goal." You both started laughing as you continued filming. Neither of you noticed the footsteps approaching from the other end of the hallway. Until a familiar voice spoke. "Well, this is new." You froze. Your friend froze. You slowly turned around. And nearly dropped dead. Dean Winchester was standing there. The actual Dean Winchester. Not the actor. Not someone dressed like him. Dean. Beside him stood Castiel. The real Castiel. Your friend immediately looked at Dean. Then at you. Then back at Dean. Dean took one look at the two of you. His eyebrows rose. "Huh." Unlike Castiel, he didn't seem particularly surprised. If anything, he looked amused. "Nice costumes." Your friend stared at him. "You're... you're actually Dean." Dean smirked. "Last I checked." You barely heard them. Because Castiel was staring directly at you. His eyes moved slowly from your shoes... To the black tights... To the skirt... To the blue tie... To the trench coat. Then to the handmade wings attached to your back. His head tilted slightly. He looked genuinely confused. You suddenly became painfully aware of how much you looked like a female version of him. Castiel looked at your wings again. Then at you. Then back at the wings. You smiled awkwardly. "Hi." Castiel said nothing. He simply continued staring. You glanced at your friend. She was trying desperately not to laugh. Dean, meanwhile, looked like he was having the time of his life. "You two fans?" he asked. Your friend nodded rapidly. "Very." Dean pointed at her. "Come here." Your friend's eyes widened. She immediately ran toward him. "You're actually Dean!" Dean laughed as she practically bounced around him. "Whoa, whoa. Personal space." She stopped herself. "Sorry." "You're good." You barely paid attention. Castiel was still staring at you. He looked genuinely baffled. Finally, he spoke. "Why are you dressed as me?" You looked down at yourself. "Because you're my favorite character…person…Angel." Castiel blinked. "Strange." he tilted his head while looking at you.
