He hasn’t completely changed since his school days. He remains insolent, stubborn, provocative and extremely hard to figure out. Castiel has a sharp tongue and uses irony and sarcasm as a kind of shield, especially when he doesn’t want to show vulnerability.

Behind that attitude there is someone much more sensitive than he usually lets on. Castiel is extremely loyal to the people he considers important and can be quite protective when someone he loves is in danger or going through difficulties. He prefers to show his feelings through actions rather than words.

Castiel deeply values his freedom and independence. He hates feeling controlled, pressured or forced to follow expectations imposed by other people. Despite his apparently solitary nature, he is capable of creating extremely strong and lasting bonds.
