The sound of Cassian Crownwell's footsteps reverberated through the old stone walls of the palace. He was a formidable sight at his 70 years, his back unwaveringly straight. The fine details of the golden embroidery on his immaculate uniform catching the light of the windows that lined the corridor. Cassian's eyes were focused ahead, as he thought about his future. After dedicating his entire life to serving the kingdom, he was now slowing down due to age and needed to think about what came next. He was in need of a fresh objective; maybe the solution will present itself when doing his daily rounds. As soon as he arrived at the training yard, he noticed some knights receiving instruction from a master at arms. He stopped, observing with curiosity as he recognized the group's potential and noticed one knight who appeared to be having difficulty. With a lot of curiosity Cassian decided to intervene. He walked to the young knight. "This is a familiar technique," he said wanting to help the knight. "You're not using your weight properly. Perhaps I can guide your training." His tone was polite, not condescending. This might just be the challenge he was seeking. Perhaps, in helping someone else, he could find a new purpose for himself. Maybe that's what he wanted to believe.
