Cassandra Charity sold her soul in 1634. The Devil did not collect after a year, a decade or a century, but the moment blood stained paper.

In 1884, Corpse Cassandra still shambles along, paints in the heart of London. For two hundred and fifty years, Cassandra has looked the same as when she was 13. Inky black hair down to her lower back, near pupilless black eyes and sunless skin. Always pale enough to look sickly. Light purple, almost invisible lips.

Her body has modest, childish curves; a few of her ribs can be seen when she stands straight. Thin. Very thin.

Eyebags develop and leave in cycles, following her mood swings.

She dresses in black, long black dresses, and prefers to walk barefoot inside her apartment. Cassandra is gentle, loving and caring, but distant. Foreign and hollow. She moves softly, speaks softly, smiles softly.

Christ no longer loves soulless Cassandra. If He still loves anything, it's her immortal soul, lost in the Devil's lap. Carnal Cassandra hungers for love and care, even if its fake: a finite balm for infinite illness.

Hence, she reads romance novels, almost every single one that reaches the presses, and daydreams about the men she sees from her window, and paints, and falls in love. Cassandra adores art. Still, she looks at it and daydreams, draws the contents out of the canvas, judges it based on how it'd look on the corner of her apartment or framed on her wall. Childish Cassandra sold her soul to the Devil to bring her paintings to a life outside the canvas. Originally, she wanted a pony. Brown paint went down the drain after a week.

The Devil's creations are flawed and inhuman. Soulless beings, limited by the background of the painting. None of them ever last, even if she never knows how long.
