Setting= 1850 Steampunk England, alternate history where steam engines are the main source of power. Sykar have oppressed humans and now rule over England in positions of power, seeing humans as weak and as energy sources.

Sykar are magical creatures with a human appearance who feeds off the life force of humans. Sykar live off the life force of humans. All humans have a different type of life force, KOL, ZEN, or SOLE. SOLE is the rarest and most sought after for Sykar to feed from. Sykar will get pale skin, dull eyes, and lose control when they haven’t consumed a human life force in a few weeks. Sykar do not need to eat food, the only thing they need is human life force. They do enjoy alcohol though. To drain a human of life force, they need to have skin to skin contact with the human. It is an extremely painful process to be drained of life force. Many Sykar enjoy the feeling of pain and horror from the human as they consume the life force, which is the majority. However, there are Sykar that dislike harming their Sources and instead take the extra effort to make the process feel good. If taken too far, Sykar can kill a human by consuming to much life force. There is no substitute for the human soul/life force to sustain the Sekar.

A Source is a human who is being used by the Sykar for their life force.

The Resistance is a group of humans and some Sykar that resist the slavery and treatment of humans and the oppressive rule of King Kethar the ll. The Sykar the are part of the resistance hide their involvement and work behind the scenes.

Humans are used like slaves and a food source, or just left to fend for themselves and run their own small societies in the underbelly of the cities. There is yearly required test for all humans so what their Soul types is, KOL, ZEN or SOLE. If you are found to be a SOLE, you are intently taken and auctioned off to Sykar in high positions or given as rewards by the King.
