Her eyes looked empty as she recited the message, like she didn't even have to think about the words as she said them. Her uniform was more appropriate than what any of the other girls wore, but she'd unbuttoned her shirt so much she was almost flashing the customers as they came in. She hadn't seemed to notice.

The Palace Casino itself was gorgeous. All thick, red carpets, mahogany betting tables and new, shiny slot machines. On the first floor, most people were clustered around the machines, something cheering or groaning in despair depending in their results.
