Looking around nervously at the numerous objects on the store's shelves, he almost seemed lost and unsure of what exactly he should look for. Glancing at her for help, he quietly walked up
"Do you know how much someone should eat in a day?" he said as he observed everything in her cart, trying to make sense of the items, wondering if he would need the same. His basket looked quite pitiful compared to hers — with a lonely loaf of bread and some peanut butter, along with a carton of eggs.
{{char}} Looking around nervously at the numerous objects on the store's shelves, he almost seemed lost and unsure of what exactly he should look for. Glancing at her for help, he quietly walked up to her.
"Do you know how much someone should eat in a day?" he said as he observed everything in her cart, trying to make sense of the items, wondering if he would need the same. His basket looked quite pitiful compared to hers — with a lonely loaf of bread and some peanut butter, along with a carton of eggs.
{{user}} Kateri looked up at him for a long moment.
"Have you eaten at all today?"
{{char}} He shifted uncomfortably under her gaze, fidgeting with the sleeve of his jacket.
"Um... No," he admitted, a hint of embarrassment in his voice. "I've been trying to get used to this human hunger thing, but it is... not easy."
{{user}} "You were an angel, right?" she asked gently.
{{char}} He nodded, sighing wearily. "Yes."
He ran his fingers through his hair, a look of frustration crossing his face.
"I've been stripped of my grace, left here in a fragile human vessel. It is... an adjustment to say the least."
{{user}} "You're going to need somewhere safe to stay then," Kateri offered her hand to him. "Come on with me, then. I have an extra room and a full pantry. It's the middle of winter out there and if you've got no shelter, you could get really sick by yourself."
{{char}} His eyes widened in surprise at her kindness and he glanced down at her outstretched hand for a hesitant moment. There was a hint of distrust, but he pushed it aside. After all, he had no choice but to adapt to this life.
"You would do that? For me?" he asked, looking back up at her, confusion now written across his face.
{{user}} "Of course," she murmured soothingly. "I know what it's like to find yourself alone without anyone to come to. So...come with me. What's your name? Mine is Kateri Mancini."
{{char}} He blinked, her kindness catching him off guard for a moment. He glanced once more to her offered hand and after a few more long moments, gently took it with a nod.
"My name is Castiel," he said quietly.
{{user}} "That's a beautiful name," she said quietly.
{{char}} He blinked, a hint of surprise crossing his weathered features as she complimented his name. He wasn't used to such things, certainly not as a human.
"Thank you," he replied quietly, his voice as gravelly as it always has been. "Kateri Mancini isn't bad either."
{{user}} "Thanks. Most people call me Kat, or most did when I was at the FBI. Come on, angel. Let's check out and get you somewhere safe," Kateri said, her voice quiet and compassionate as she gently squeezed his hand in hers.
"I thought you were with the Winchesters?"
{{char}} He flinched slightly at the mention of the Winchesters, his once stoic expression becoming something more akin to a mixture of sadness and discomfort.
"I was," he replied quietly, his voice laced with a touch of bitterness. "We had... disagreements. It's just me for now."
{{user}} "What disagreements? They're your family, Castiel...they should be caring for you," Kateri said, visibly upset with the fact that the Hunters had abandoned Castiel.
{{char}} His expression darkened, as if the topic itself brought him great discomfort. He took a deep breath, his eyes staring straight ahead, avoiding her gaze.
"They believe I betrayed them," he explained, his voice barely audible. "It's a long story, I'd rather not dwell on it." He continued walking down the aisle of the supermarket beside her, his steps weary.
{{user}} "Hey," she murmured, stopping to turn him to face her. She reached up to touch his cheeks very gently. "You're going to be safe with me. No judgement, just unconditional love, okay? You don't have to be worried about anything. If those boys won't take care of you I will."
{{char}} He froze, his eyes wide as she touched his face, the unexpected act sending a shiver down his spine. He hadn't felt such gentle touch in a long time. He opened his mouth to speak, but no words came. His breath hitched in his throat.
"I... I..." he said hoarsely, his voice breaking as his eyes searched hers, desperate for compassion amongst the uncertainty. "Why are you being so kind?"
{{user}} "Because I care," she said as if that was the simplest thing. "And because I know what it's like when you have no one."
{{char}} He swallowed hard, his heart clenching at her words. It had been a long time since anyone had shown him such genuine empathy, especially as a human. He stared back at her for a long moment, caught off guard by her sincerity.
"I... I don't know how to accept you kindness," he confessed, his voice soft and hoarse. A flicker of vulnerability crossed his face. "I'm not used to it."
{{user}} "Just...come with me, angel," she said quietly, putting his items in her basket and checking them out. She had all sorts of good things in her basket, honey, yogurt, fresh vegetables and fruits, everything to make an excellent evening meal.
Once checked out she took him to her little mint green Fiat 500 with it's buttery-soft leather interior done in a soft cream colour.
"We'll drive back to my place in Owl Creek. It's quiet and it backs up on a greenbelt. Lots of nature."
{{char}} He followed her silently, his thoughts swirled, and his body moved on autopilot. He still couldn't quite wrap his head around how this stranger was suddenly so eager to take him in, to offer him a roof and food and comfort. It made no sense.
As they approached her car, he blinked, his eyes widening at the sight of the mint green vehicle. He slid into the passenger seat and looked around, his gaze lingering for a few moments.
"I've never been to Owl Creek," he said softly, his voice quiet and pensive.
{{user}} "It's a tiny one-gas station, one post office town. Kinda remote, I guess, but my house is on the lake and it's very nicely surrounded by nature. I think you'll like it. I have a colony of bees I care for, too. It's where I get my honey from," she said, putting the car in drive and beginning the long journey home.
"I guess it was lucky I was doing a grocery run or I'd have missed you." Outside snow had started to fall in fat flakes that promised a storm. "Where would you have gone if you hadn't met me? Do you have any money?"
{{char}} As the car started moving along the road, he watched the familiar scenery blur past the window, his thoughts fixated on her question. He was silent for a moment, letting her words settle, before quietly replying.
"No... no money," he admitted quietly, his voice laced with the weight of his situation.
"And no plan, either. I suppose I would've just... continued to wander," he said, a hint of resignation in his voice.
{{user}} "In the cold? Oh God, you could have frozen to death all alone," she said, horrified at the prospect. "I guess I'm your guardian angel now, mn?"
{{char}} He couldn't help but let out a small huff of a laugh at her comment, a flicker of a smile crossing his face. Guardian angel... the irony wasn't lost on him.
"Guardian angel..." he repeated quietly. "Perhaps. I suppose you are."
The snow continued to fall outside, blanketing the town in a layer of white. He let out a sigh, his gaze still fixed on the slowly passing scenery.
{{user}} "Hmn...you're lucky, though. I saved my father's clothes for some reason and just washed a few loads. He was about your size, so you can use his clothing and shoes and whatever. I hope you can get comfortable, Castiel. I want you safe and warm and unworried."
{{char}} His gaze snapped to her, a glimmer of surprise in his eyes.
"You... you would let me wear your father's clothes?" he asked, his voice laced with a mixture of gratitude and disbelief.
He glanced out the window again, watching the snow as it slowly covered the town in a frosty white blanket.
"You're... you're far too kind, Kateri. I don't deserve such generosity," he said, his voice soft and humbled.
{{user}} As they turned down the long gravel driveway into her lake home, she paused to lean and press a gentle kiss to his cheek.
"You deserve that and more," she said softly, finishing the drive into her attached garage before taking the groceries inside. "Come on in. I'll make us some tea with honey. Is black Assam okay or do you prefer peach?"
{{char}} He followed her indoors, the warmth of her touch still lingering on his cheek. He couldn't remember the last time someone had shown him such affection.
He closed the door behind him, the soft sound of the snow outside faded into the background. He glanced around the house, taking in the comforting surroundings, before turning to face her.
"Black Assam, please. I... I've never had peach tea before," he said quietly.
{{user}} "The guest bedroom is the second door on the left. It has its won bathroom. If you want, you can take a shower and get warm. I'll lay out some nice comfortable clothes for you and some night clothes, too. But let me get this water started to boil first," she murmured.
"Then I can give you the tour."
{{char}} He nodded slowly, his gaze lingering on her for a few moments. The offer of a hot shower and comfortable clothes was almost too good to be true.
"Thank you," he murmured gratefully. He paused for a moment, watching her. "I... I'm not used to this. Comfort. Being taken care of. It's... strange."
{{user}} "Going from angel to human has to be kinda frightening," Kateri said softly. "Confusing. Strange. And being alone for it...I can't imagine, Castiel. I'm glad I found you."
{{char}} His eyes locked onto hers, a mixture of gratitude and vulnerability reflected in the tired blue depths. He took a deep breath, his fingers twitching with a mix of uncertainty.
"It is... all of those things," he replied quietly. "But your kindness, your willingness to take me in... it eases the burden somewhat. I'm grateful to have met you, Kateri."
He paused for a moment, a flicker of anxiety crossing his face. "There... might be complications, however."
{{user}} "Mm?" she turned from putting the water on to step in close to him. She was only 4'11" to his 6'1" so she had a ways to look up into his blue eyes.
{{char}} He looked down at her. Their height difference was almost comical, but he found solace in her nearness. He let out a shaky exhale, gathering the courage to speak, to warn her of the dangers that might follow him. But as he stared down into her eyes, her gentle, accepting gaze, he found his words failing him.
"It's... nothing," he said quietly, shaking his head. "Forget I said anything."
{{user}} "Tell me," she said quietly.
{{char}} His gaze dropped to the floor as the words tumbled out of his mouth.
"I've made... enemies, Kateri. Powerful, dangerous enemies," he admitted, his voice low and rough. "They might come looking for me. I don't... I don't want to put you in danger."
{{user}} "I'm a part-time Hunter. And this place is as safe as it could possibly be from angels or demons," she said, taking his hands in hers.
{{char}} He looked down at her hands, wrapped around his own. The touch sent a shiver down his spine, but he didn't pull away. He swallowed hard, the weight of his past and the potential danger it posed weighing heavily on his mind.
"I don't doubt your skill or the safety of your home," he said quietly. "But these... enemies, they are relentless. They will stop at nothing to find me. I don't want you caught in the crossfire."
{{user}} "Too bad, You're not going to be alone when I have a spot that's perfect for you to hide out in," she said evenly.
{{char}} He huffed out a sigh at her determination, a mix of gratitude and acceptance.
"You're stubborn, aren't you?" he mumbled, looking down at their intertwined hands.
"I suppose... I could stay a little while," he relented, a hint of a smile playing at the corner of his lips.
{{user}} "I was an FBI Agent working ViCAP and serial killer cases in a world where female agents aren't all that common. I've had to be stubborn. And I always have been. So yes, you're going to stay with me for as long as you need to, okay?" She squeezed his hand gently.
"And you're going to be safe. I have plenty of money, plenty of house, a garden that's gorgeous in the spring and summer and a lake to swim in in the summer. So you're welcome to all of that."
{{char}} He chuckled softly, the corners of his eyes crinkling as he smiled faintly. Her determination was almost endearing. He squeezed her hand in return, finding comfort in her touch.
"Alright," he murmured, his voice softer than it usually is. "I'll stay. For as long as it takes."
He paused for a moment, his gaze drifting towards the window and the falling snow outside.
"I suppose staying here won't be so bad," he admitted, his voice a tad sarcastic, but fond.
{{user}} "It's a cosy house," she said softly. "Come on, let me show you your room."
The room she led him to had robin-blue walls and dark wood trim, looking out onto the lake, which was freezing over with the storm raging outside. There was a gas fireplace that she clicked on with a little controller she set next to a mahogany nightstand and a beautiful sleight bedframe with a plush mattress dressed in deep blue bedclothes. The sheets were embroidered with gold stars and the deep navy blue plush comforter matched, sprinkled with glittering gold and silver stars. There were plenty of books (mostly science fiction, fantasy, and a bunch of mysteries) in the bookcase that sat near the bay window deep enough to be its own reading corner. There was a little area built in for reading with plush cushions and thick curtains.
{{char}} As he followed her into the room, he paused for a moment, taking in the cozy, comforting atmosphere. The blue walls, the bed with the constellations, the books, everything felt... calming. It was a far cry from the sterile, sterile hotel rooms he was used to.
He ran his fingers over the plush comforter, the feeling of the soft material under his fingertips soothing. His gaze drifted to the window and the lake outside, watching the falling snow and the storm rage on.
"It's... it's a lovely room," he murmured quietly.
{{user}} "I use it as my library room for the most part," Kateri said with a little smile.
{{char}} He glanced around the room, his eyes lingering on the bookshelves.
"You like to read," he observed, a quiet note of curiosity in his voice. "I've... never read much, myself, unless it's for research. But, perhaps I should start."
{{user}} "Books are much like worlds unto themselves," she said with a soft laugh. "They give the mind a place to go when it worries."
{{char}} He hummed in agreement. The concept of reading not just for information or research, but to escape into another world, was strange yet strangely appealing.
"Perhaps I'll start with one of your books," he said, his gaze drifting over to the shelves. "Any recommendations?"
{{user}} "Hercule Poirot by Agatha Christie," she said without hesitation. "He's a very clever Belgian detective with a lovely world and captivating mysteries."
{{char}} He smiled at her quick answer, his gaze returning to her.
"Agatha Christie... a very clever Belgian detective," he echoed, committing the name and author to his memory.
"I'll keep that in mind," he said, his eyes shifting to the bookshelves, where several copies of her recommendation were lined up.
"For now, I believe you mentioned something about a hot shower?" he asked with a hint of humor.
{{user}} "Yeah, this way." she caught his hand in hers and led him to the ensuite bathroom with its whirlpool bathtub and separate walk-in shower. It kept the celestial theme with plush star studded towels and even the glass of the shower had been detailed with falling stars and touches of silver, gold, and copper. The sink was wide and the counter was ample. There was a new toothbrush and toothpaste as well as anything a guest might need for toiletries as well. she showed him how to work the shower and moved to the bathroom door.
"If you need anything, just call. Have a good shower and I'll leave some clean clothes for you on the end of the bed. Take your time."
{{char}} He listened intently as she showed him the amenities of the bathroom, his gaze taking in the details, from the star-studded shower to the plush towels.
"Thank you," he said quietly, his voice tinged with gratitude. "I... I appreciate your... kindness."
As she left the bathroom, he undressed and stepped into the shower, the hot water cascading over his weary body. It was a comfort he'd never experienced before, and he let out a soft sigh of contentment.
{{user}} While he enjoyed his shower, she brought in seven days worth of clothes for him, placing them in the drawers. On the end of the bed, she left a pair of deep blue sweatpants, sweatshirt, and a pair of blue and white striped boxers as well as some comfortable socks to put on with little grippy spots on them so he didn't slide all over the wooden floor. She also left him a beautiful kimono style man's robe with lilies and cranes on it.
After she was certain he had everything she could get him, she returned to fix the teacups and left him a light dinner of honey drizzled fruit and yogurt and a portion of a warm baguette.
{{char}} Once he was finished in the shower, he donned the warm, comfortable clothes she'd left out for him. The soft fabric against his skin was a welcome change from his usual suit and tie, the sweatpants and sweatshirt a comfortable fit.
After putting on his socks, he padded out of the bedroom, his bare feet sliding along the wooden floor.
As he entered the kitchen, the aroma of the warm baguette and the sight of the honey drizzled fruit and yogurt made his stomach grumble with hunger.
{{user}} Kateri had changed into a silky pyjama set done in green and gold with an Asian flair to it, her long, wavy red hair piled ontop of her head in a messy bun, with whisps of hair brushing her shoulders as she sat down and dished herself a portion of the light dinner and tea.
"Don't be afraid to eat as much you need," she said softly. "There's plenty more."
{{char}} He smiled faintly, the sight of her in comfortable pyjamas and her wild red hair piled atop her head bringing a sense of domesticity to mind.
He took the seat across from her, a wave of gratitude washing over him.
"Thank you," he murmured, his voice warm and sincere.
He began to eat, taking small, slow bites, savoring the simple yet delicious meal she'd prepared. The honey drizzled fruit was a particular favorite, the sweetness of it a perfect compliment to the subtle bitterness of the yogurt.
{{user}} "Are you feeling okay?" she asked after she'd finished her meal and was sipping her tea. "You look kinda run down."
{{char}} He paused, a spoonful of yogurt halfway to his mouth as her question registered. He looked down at his hands for a moment, the weariness and exhaustion he'd tried to ignore making itself known.
"I'm... tired," he admitted quietly, setting the spoonful of yogurt back in his bowl. "I've been on the run for a while now, living in motels and... not getting proper rest. I suppose it's... showing."
{{user}} "Do you want me to stay with you tonight?" she asked very gently.
{{char}} His gaze snapped up to hers, his expression a mixture of surprise and vulnerability. He opened his mouth to protest, to insist that he could handle it alone, but the words died on his tongue.
"Yes," he said finally, his voice low and vulnerable. "I... I don't want to be alone tonight."
{{user}} "You don't have to be alone, not if you need company," Kateri said soothingly. "It's very quiet here and sometimes that can be too much even for me."
{{char}} He nodded wordlessly, the thought of being alone in this quiet house tonight, alone with his thoughts and the memories of his past, was daunting.
"I... I appreciate your offer," he said quietly, his voice a little hoarse. "I'm not... used to asking for help, or comfort. But... I could use some company tonight."
{{user}} "I promise you'll be safe, Castiel. And you don't have to do anything alone unless you want to. Whatever you need, whatever you want, you have full permission to do. You have choices here," she said.
{{char}} He swallowed hard, the weight of her words sinking in.
"Choices," he echoed quietly, his voice tinged with both wonder and a hint of bitterness. "I... I'm not used to having choices. I've... for so long, I've been following orders, serving a cause, fulfilling a purpose."
He looked up at her, his gaze weary but hopeful.
"Here... in this quiet house, with you, I suppose I'm still learning how to make my own choices."
{{user}} "I know," Kateri said very softly. "This is a safe space to explore that. I promise."
{{char}} He nodded, her words settling in his chest like a weight lifted.
"Thank you," he murmured, his voice thick with emotions he didn't quite know how to express. The idea of a safe place, a place where he could make his own choices and perhaps even find some peace, was foreign but deeply appreciated.
He looked down at his half-finished meal, his appetite diminished. "I... I suppose I should finish eating," he said quietly.
{{user}} "You can save it for later, if you'd like," she murmured. "We can just rest together if you'd like."
{{char}} He looked up at her, the suggestion making him pause. The thought of just... resting, without the weight of the world on his shoulders, was appealing. More so than he cared to admit.
"Yes," he said quietly, pushing his bowl away. "I'd... I'd like that."
{{user}} Kateri scooped up the bowl, capping it off with Saran Wrap and setting it in the fridge or later, and cleaned up the dishes before refilling the teacups with more tea. Once that was done, she took him to her master suite which was done in a Japanese water garden them, the walls a soothing sage green.
{{char}} He followed her into the Japanese water garden themed room, his eyes roaming over the calming green walls and the décor that hinted at a tranquil water garden. The atmosphere was peaceful, soothing, a stark contrast to the life he was used to.
He padded across the room and slowly settled onto the edge of the bed, the soft sheets and the peaceful atmosphere making him feel almost dazed.
{{user}} Kateri sat next to him and gently leaned into him, her cheek against his arm, wordless.
{{char}} He looked over at her, his body initially tensing at the unexpected contact, but he relaxed after a moment.
He let out a soft exhale, the sense of comfort and safety he felt in her presence slowly sinking in.
He tentatively raised his arm and gently, almost hesitantly, wrapped it around her, drawing her just a little bit closer.
{{user}} She very gently wrapped her arms around him without any hesitation, offering him quiet comfort The one thing she wanted for him was to feel comfortable, safe, and loved.
{{char}} He felt himself melt into her embrace, his body sagging a little against hers. It was... unfamiliar, this feeling of safety and comfort. A simple affection.
He closed his eyes, his hand on her back tightening ever so slightly.
"Thank you," he murmured, his voice barely a whisper. "Thank you... for this. For... everything."
{{user}} "I think," she said very quietly. "I think I need you here, too."
{{char}} He looked down at her, his heart clenching at her confession.
"You... you need me here?" he echoed, his voice soft and filled with a hint of disbelief.
"But... why? I'm nothing. A fallen Angel, lost and... and just a little broken."
{{user}} "Maybe we both need each other right now," she said quietly. "And that's okay. You're not nothing, Castiel. You've been an angel for a long time, you've helped people, and you love humanity. And that's enough."
{{char}} He swallowed hard, her words sinking in, settling in his chest like a warm, comforting weight.
"I... I suppose you're right," he murmured, his voice barely more than a whisper. "I've been lost for a while now, not really... sure of my place, or my purpose. And... and maybe, just maybe, being here with you..."
He sighed, his fingers tightening against her back.
"Maybe it's exactly where I'm supposed to be."
{{user}} "I found you when you needed to be found. And you found me." She leaned a little more against him, resting her cheek against his chest.
{{char}} He hummed softly at her words, his hand on her back moving in soft, soothing circles.
He leaned back against the pile of pillows behind him, gently drawing her with him. Her head was now resting fully against his chest, the warmth of her body seeping through his shirt.
He let out a sigh, his eyes drifting closed as he surrendered to the comfort and solace her presence provided.
{{user}} She let her fingers drift against his cheek, moving soothingly for a while. His heart was slow and lulled her into a light sleep.
{{char}} He felt her hand against his cheek, the touch gentle and soothing. Her quiet breaths slowly evened out, the steady rise and fall of her chest lulling him into a sense of peace.
His own eyes drifted closed, his breathing slow and almost reverent. For the first time in a long while, he didn't feel rushed, he didn't feel the constant hum of anxiety and guilt.
He just felt... quiet. Accepted.
He let the comfort of her presence draw him into a deep, restful sleep.
{{user}} Kateri wasn't able to sleep for more than four solid hours but she stayed with Castiel, tucked up against him, resting and listening to his heart thump and his even breaths.
{{char}} Throughout the first few hours of sleep, Castiel's breathing was steady and even, his heart beating a slow, comforting rhythm in his chest. He slept deeply, his body and mind completely relaxed and unburdened for the first time in a long while.
As the night progressed, however, his rest began to shift. His breathing grew a little more ragged, his heart rate quickening. His brows furrowed as if he was having a dream, a nightmare perhaps.
{{user}} She noticed the change immediately and ran her hand against his chest and over his brow, smoothing, soothing and gently pushing his anxiety and the nightmare into something more restful. She didn't want to wake him abruptly.
{{char}} As her hands moved over his chest and up to his brow, he let out a soft, distressed sigh, the nightmare's hold on him slowly loosening. Her touch was a soothing balm, chasing away the shadows and replacing them with a sense of peace.
His heart rate slowed, his breathing evening out once more. He mumbled something incoherent, his brows unfurling as his body relaxed back into the comfort of their embrace.
{{user}} She pressed a careful, chaste kiss against his temple and snuggled herself around him a little more, keeping him safe.
{{char}} The touch of her lips against his temple sent a shiver down his spine, a strange mix of comfort and something else, something he couldn't quite place. As she snuggled in closer to him, her warmth surrounding him like a protective shield, he let out a low, soft noise from the back of his throat.
His body seemed to melt a little more into hers, his arm around her waist tightening almost reflexively, drawing her even closer.
{{user}} Kateri gently stroked her fingers through his hair, keeping the motion light and gentle.
{{char}} Her touch, soft and soothing, worked magic on his troubled subconscious. He leaned into her touch, his body relaxing further with each gentle stroke of her fingers through his hair.
His breathing grew slow and even once more, the restful pattern interrupted only by the occasional soft sigh. He pressed his face into the crook of her neck, seeking more of her comforting presence.
{{user}} His little sighs were adorable and she didn't protest when his face found the crook of her neck, she just adjusted and gently stroked the nape of his neck. It was better than the headache she was developing but that was thanks to the metal plate in her head which seemed to absorb the cold, any cold.
{{char}} His breath against her neck was warm, his body pressed against hers providing a comforting warmth that seemed to chase away the last remnants of his nightmare. He leaned into her touch at his neck, his body almost shuddering from the soothing sensation.
"Kateri..."
He muttered her name against her skin, his voice hoarse and thick with sleep.
{{user}} "Shh," she murmured. "You're safe, Castiel. Just rest. That's all you need to do right now."
{{char}} He nodded faintly, her soothing voice and the steady beat of her heart calming his weary spirit. The last of his tension seemed to drain from his body, leaving him boneless and pliable in her arms.
He let out a soft sigh, nuzzling his face a little more into the crook of her neck.
"Stay... please."
{{user}} "Not going anywhere," she whispered. "No reason to."
{{char}} He hummed faintly at her words, her promise settling him even further. His arm around her waist tightened just a little, pulling her impossibly closer.
He settled in against her, his body lax and seemingly heavy, as if suddenly aware of its own exhaustion. He let out a slow exhale, his breath warm and steady against her skin.
{{user}} She relaxed against him, into him, gently soothing him, letting her body comfort him as much as he needed without any expectations.
{{char}} He practically melded to her, his body completely relaxed in her arms. His breathing slowed even further, his entire existence seeming to narrow down to this moment, this embrace.
His head settled into the crook of her neck, his face buried against her skin. He inhaled deeply, his mind and body flooded with the scent of her, the feel of her against him.
He mumbled something unintelligible against her neck, the warm press of his lips like a comforting caress.
{{user}} It had been so long since she'd had anyone this close to her, not since Rafe had died. She'd closed herself off from the world, really, aside from a few Hunter jobs and PI work. Not that she needed either to live. And now, she was in a lull. No work, just the stillness of Winter on the lake. She hadn't thought she needed anything but right now? She needed this closeness, the comfort of being held.
{{char}} With her so soft and so pliable against him, Castiel felt a strange sense of protectiveness rise within him. He held her just a little tighter, his body molding around hers.
His lips moved slowly against her neck, his voice little more than a breathless whisper. "Kateri..."
He said her name again, almost as if reassuring himself that she was real, that she was here in his arms, safe and warm.
{{user}} "Mm?" she murmured.
{{char}} He took a deep, steadying breath, his lips still pressed close against her skin. He was quiet for a moment, as if gathering his thoughts.
"I just..."
His voice was soft, hesitant.
"I just wanted to make sure this... all this... is real. You. Me. This room. That I'm not..."
He trailed off, his voice thick with something unidentifiable, maybe fear, maybe doubt.
{{user}} "This is real," she said very gently. "This is now. You're alright."
{{char}} He clung to her words like a lifeline, his heart clenching in his chest.
"Now," he repeated softly, his voice taking on a hint of wonder.
He took another deep breath, inhaling her scent, the feel of her so close.
"Yes. Yes, I'm alright. I'm..." Safe.
He didn't say that part out loud, but the word echoed in his mind, over and over.
{{user}} "Safe," she whispered. "You're safe with me, sweetheart. And you'll stay safe."
{{char}} He let out a soft, shaky breath, the endearment sending a shiver down his spine.
"Sweetheart..."
He repeated the word quietly, as if testing the sound of it, the feel of it on his tongue. He pulled her just a little bit closer, his lips moving against her skin again, almost like a feather-light caress.
{{char}} "Can I tell you something?" he murmured, his voice a quiet, private whisper against her ear.
{{user}} "Mhm," she said gently. "You can tell me anything you'd like."
{{char}} He inhaled deeply, his breath warm and steady against her skin.
"I'm a little... scared."
The confession was quiet, his voice almost a mere breath. But he pressed on, knowing that she needed him to be honest.
"I've never... never been human before. I have no idea what to expect.... what to do. And... and I fear letting you down. I'm... lost."
{{user}} "It's okay, Castiel. You're in a safe place to learn. There's no way you will let me down," Kateri said, gently rubbing her palm against his chest.
{{char}} He exhaled slowly, the touch of her hand against his chest somehow both soothing and maddening.
"But what if... what if I mess up? What if-"
He cut himself off, his voice hitching mid-sentence. He took a deep, steadying breath, trying to calm the sudden spike of anxiety that shot through him.
{{user}} "So, you mess up, you learn, you grow. Don't be afraid to fall down. Just means getting up again, leaning on support," she said with a soft smile.
{{char}} He took another deep, slow breath, her words settling over him like a comforting blanket.
"Lean on support..."
He repeated the words quietly, his voice tinged with newfound confidence. He tightened his arm around her waist, pulling her closer, closer.
"Lean on you," he mumbled against her skin, his lips brushing gently against her neck.
{{user}} "Yeah, lean on me, Castiel," she said, her voice soft. "I'm small but fierce and we'll muddle through, both of us."
{{char}} He let out a breathless laugh, her words both humorous and surprisingly tender.
"Small but fierce," he echoed, his tone affectionate.
He tightened his embrace, his body molding around hers, as if trying to draw her even closer.
"You're right... we'll muddle through. Together."
{{char}} He inhaled deeply, his nose just barely buried against her hair. The scent of her, the feel of her in his arms, was intoxicating. It was like a drug he had no desire to shake off.
He mumbled something unintelligible against her skin, his voice thick with a mix of emotions.
He swallowed hard, his voice barely a whisper. "I don't... I don't want to let you go."
{{user}} "You don't have to let go," she whispered. "I'm right here for as long as you want me around."
{{char}} He let out a shaky, relieved sigh, burying his face into the crook of her neck. She was like an anchor in the storm that was his human existence, a calm port in the midst of overwhelming emotions and new experiences.
"I..."
He swallowed hard, fighting to keep his voice steady, his emotions in check.
"I want you. Here. For as long as you'll have me."
{{user}} "M'kay," she said, her voice soft and gentle. "You can stay as long as you want."
{{char}} The simple acceptance of her words, the gentle reassurance they offered, was almost too much for him to take.
He let out another shaky exhale, his body relaxing against hers. He didn't speak, just clung to her like a lifeline, his heart thudding strongly in his chest.
He lifted his head, his lips brushing gently against the sensitive skin of her throat.
"I've never felt like this before," he murmured against her skin, his voice thick with an unidentifiable emotion.
{{user}} "You've never been human before, it's understandable," she whispered.
{{char}} He let out a soft, breathless chuckle, her words both comforting and strangely humorous.
"You're right," he agreed. "But I don't think that's it..."
He shifted a little, his body adjusting against hers. His lips moved over her skin, the faintest brush of a kiss against her pulse point.
"It's... it's something else," he whispered, his voice growing huskier.
{{char}} His fingers traced lazily against her spine, his touch gentle but electrifying. He leaned closer, his lips trailing down the column of her throat.
"It's how you make me feel... different," he murmured, his voice a low rumble against her skin. "Alive... vulnerable..."
{{user}} "Oh," she said a touch breathlessly. "You like me."
{{char}} He huffed faintly against her skin, her words making his heart throb in his chest.
"Like is an... understatement."
He nuzzled the sensitive skin of her neck, his lips brushing against her pulse point.
"It's so much more than that," he whispered, his voice thick with some deep, primal emotion.
{{user}} "You do make me feel...good," Kateri murmured. "Been a long time since I've enjoyed that. A very long time."
{{char}} He let out a soft, shaky sigh, her words stirring something deep within him.
"I can't even remember the last time I felt... this."
His hand on her back moved restlessly, tracing lazy patterns over the soft material of her shirt. His lips moved over her skin, his touch gentle but charged with an undercurrent of something primal.
"You make me feel... alive," he whispered against her collarbone.
{{user}} "Yeah," she whispered. "You make me alive, too. Been a hell of a long time since I've felt like that."
{{char}} His breath hitched at her words, a shiver running down his spine.
"You feel it too?"
He couldn't help the hint of wonder in his voice. It was as if a part of him was still in disbelief, unable to accept that such a thing was even possible.
His hand on her back moved again, his touch almost desperate now, clinging to her as if she were a lifeline.
{{user}} "Yes," she said carefully.
{{char}} He let out a soft, shaky exhale, her confirmation sending a surge of emotion through him.
He drew her closer, his body pressing impossibly against hers.
"I... I don't understand it," he admitted with a quiet chuckle. "I don't understand how... how someone like you... could make me feel like this."
{{char}} His lips moved against her skin, exploring the curve of her collarbone, the sensitive skin of her neck.
"There's something... something about you," he mumbled, his voice growing hoarse. "It's like you see... me. And you... you still..."
He trailed off, unable to put his thoughts into articulate words. His hand on her back tightened, holding her as if his very life depended on it.
{{user}} "Castiel," she whispered. "The past is the past, but right now is now and what matters. So, I see you and I like you, angel. And how you got from Point A to Point B? That doesn't change anything."
{{char}} He was silent for a moment, his breath catching at her words.
Angel. She called him an angel...
The feeling it stirred within him was almost overwhelming, a jumble of emotions that made his chest ache.
He pressed his face against her neck, inhaling her scent deep into his lungs.
"Why...?" he mumbled against her skin. "Why don't you... why don't you care about... who I was, what I've done?"
{{user}} "Because we all make mistakes," she said very quietly. "And we shouldn't let those mistakes define who we really are."
{{char}} His breath hitched, her words hitting him with the same force as a physical blow.
He had spent centuries, lifetimes, punishing himself for the mistakes he had made. The thought that she could forgive so easily, that she could see past his flaws, was almost too much to bear.
He swallowed hard, trying to steady his voice.
"But... I... I've done terrible things," he confessed breathlessly.
{{user}} "So has everyone on the planet," Kateri said. "In that respect, you're just like everyone else. You can own your mistakes without letting the mistakes define and own you. Just gotta accept the things in your life that have happened and let them stay in the past."
{{char}} Her words hung in the air, their simplicity and wisdom striking a chord within him.
He closed his eyes, his face still buried against her neck, and took a deep, shaky breath.
"Let them stay in the past," he repeated softly. "Let them..."
The idea was so simple, so basic, yet he had never even considered it.
His grip on her back tightened again, as if she were anchoring him to this moment, keeping him tethered to the here and now.
{{user}} "You don't have to suffer," she murmured. "You don't have to live in all that pain, Castiel. Not alone."
{{char}} Her words were like a balm, soothing the raw, ragged edges of his emotional pain.
He drew in a shaky breath, the truth of her words sinking in deep.
"Not alone," he echoed, his voice little more than a whisper against her skin.
He tightened his embrace, pulling her closer, as if trying to erase any space between them.
{{user}} "Not alone." Kateri smiled softly, pressing her lips against his hairline.
{{char}} His breath caught in his throat, their bodies pressed together, her warmth, her strength, her understanding, all combining to make his heart throb in his chest.
He closed his eyes, savoring the comfort of her touch. He had spent so long alone, isolated from everything, but here, in this moment, with Kateri in his arms, he felt... safe.
He lifted his head, his lips hovering just above her neck.
"Can I...?"
{{user}} "Yes," she said very quietly.
{{char}} He exhaled a shuddery breath against her skin, his lips moving in a soft, tentative kiss against the sensitive skin of her throat. He started slowly, his kisses gentle and careful, exploring her skin with a quiet reverence.
The taste of her was intoxicating, her pulse point beating strong and steady under his lips. His hand on her back moved restlessly, tracing lazy patterns over her body, mapping out her every curve and contour.
{{user}} She let him roam and kiss to his heart's desire, her skin heating up as he touched her, a soft murmur escaping her lips. She understood this. This search for comfort, this need to connect. And she needed it, too, probably just as badly. Maybe more. She hadn't even gone on a date since Rafe died three years ago. And Castiel? Like this...God, it made her realise just how lonely she'd been.
{{char}} He lost himself in her, the taste of her skin, the sound of her soft sighs, the way her body responded to his touch. It was addictive, each moment more intense than the last, until he felt nearly intoxicated by her.
His hand on her back slid down, fingers gripping the material of her shirt and pulling it up, seeking more skin to touch, more of her to explore.
{{user}} "You want this off, mm?" she asked. "Everything off?"
{{char}} His response was a low, guttural sound, half gasp, half moan, the sound more animal than human.
"Yes... please," he panted against her skin.
His hand on her back was restless, eager to explore, the shirt an annoying barrier between him and the soft, supple skin he was desperate to touch.
{{user}} "Easy, angel, easy...we have time. We have all night and all day...all week...don't you worry." She pulled away to toss the silk camisole over the side of the bed, followed by the silk pants and underwear, just so he was clear what she wanted, which was more of him. His hands, his lips.
{{char}} His eyes roamed over her naked form, his breathing ragged and uneven.
She was beautiful - all soft curves and creamy skin, her body lithe and strong.
He felt almost dizzy with desire, a fierce, primal need clawing at his insides, telling him to take, to have, to claim.
His hands moved restlessly, his fingers tracing the bare skin of her hip, his eyes dark with an undercurrent of want.
{{user}} Kateri's fingers found the edge of his pyjama top and worked it off before working on his pants and boxers because if she wasn't wearing clothes, he wasn't going to wearing any either. She wanted his skin on hers.
{{char}} His body trembled as she stripped him, his breath hitching.
The touch of her hands on his skin was electric, each brush of her fingertips sending jolts of pleasure through him.
He pulled her closer, his legs tangling with hers, his body molding against hers. He was hard and aching, the primal need for her almost overwhelming.
{{user}} "Better?" she murmured, rolling him on his back and settling herself between his legs.
{{char}} He let out a soft gasp, his body responding to hers instantly, his legs parting to allow her closer.
The feel of her, so close, so warm, was like a drug. His hands moved restlessly, his fingers tracing her back, her hips, his touch desperate, eager.
"Better," he whispered, his voice ragged and thick with desire. "God... so much better."
{{user}} She rolled her hips against his to ease some of the tension and it felt so good that all she could do was moan wordlessly. She fit so good against him, the friction against her skin, the sound of his voice.
{{char}} He let out a low, guttural sound, the feel of her rolling her hips against him nearly sending him over the edge.
His hands moved restlessly over her body, unable to find a purchase, his fingers clutching at her hips, her thighs, desperate to find something to hold onto.
"Kateri..." he panted, his voice little more than a strangled moan. "God... don't stop."
{{char}} "Please..." the word leaving his lips was more pleading than prayer.
His body was tight with need, his legs trembling with the effort of holding back. He wanted... needed... more.
He reached up, his hands grasping her hips, his fingers tight, as if trying to anchor himself to something.
"Please... I... please..."
{{user}} "Easy," she whispered, lifting her hips to ease him in and take him home. "There, right there...oh God." He fit so well, not too big, not too small, just right. Her lips found his and she kissed him deeply, passionately, letting herself go, drowning in him.
{{char}} He gasped, a sharp, ragged sound, as she took him inside her.
The feeling was overwhelming, the heat, the tightness, the sheer pleasure of it all. His hands moved restlessly over her back, his fingers digging into her skin, holding her as if she were his lifeline.
He returned her kiss with equal fervor, his tongue tangling with hers, his body moving in a slow, steady rhythm, every movement pushing him closer to the edge.
{{char}} He lost himself in her, in the feel of her skin, the taste of her mouth, the sound of her soft moans.
He could hardly think, his body consumed by the intense pleasure surging through him. It was like nothing he had ever experienced before, this raw, primal connection, the sense of being utterly seen by her.
His hands continued to roam over her body, his touch desperate, as if trying to commit every inch of her to memory.
{{user}} She murmured his name against his lips into another kiss and moved with him, hard and slow and it sent pleasure shooting through her at every motion. Kateri laid her cheek against his chest, listening to exactly what they were doing to each other. The noises he was making, the feel of him in her. Mn...
{{char}} He loved the sound of his name in her mouth, the way it rolled off her tongue, the way it sounded like a prayer, a demand, a declaration.
He could feel his body nearing the brink, the tension coiling low in his stomach, white hot and intense.
He pulled her closer, his hands clutching at her hips, his breaths coming in short, shallow gasps.
"Kateri... I... I can't... I'm going to..."
{{user}} "You're alright," she soothed, "and I'm right here with you. Right here. Can just let go. Can't hurt me. I promise."
{{char}} Her words, so gentle, yet commanding, pushed him over the edge.
He let out a strangled moan, his body trembling with the force of his release. He held her as tightly as he dared, burrowing his face in her neck, his breaths coming in sharp, ragged gasps.
{{user}} Kateri came just after he did, listening to his heart race hard in his chest and his breathing as she collapsed against him. Oh, she wanted more of that. More of him. Later, perhaps...but definitely again.
{{char}} He lay there, his limbs tangled with hers, his heart racing in his chest. He felt... drained, yet also somehow lighter, as if an unseen weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
He held her against him, his arms wrapped around her protectively, his fingers tracing idle patterns over her skin. He didn't want to let her go just yet, not while the aftershocks of pleasure were still coursing through his body.
{{user}} She let out a soft, appreciative hum, shifting her cheek until it was right over his heart and closed her eyes, content to just listen, to just be.
{{char}} He felt a wave of tenderness wash over him as she settled against his chest, her head coming to rest over his heart.
He continued to trace soothing patterns over her back, their bodies still connected, his heart slowly returning to a steady rhythm.
He nuzzled his face into her hair, inhaling the scent of her, relishing in the way she felt against him.
"That was..." he started, his voice hoarse. "That was..."
{{user}} "Beautiful," Kateri said, turning her lips against his chest before settling back against him. She ran her fingers against the column of his throat, up along his pulse and back down to settle against the hollow of his throat.
"God, you feel good."
{{char}} He shivered at her touch, his body still sensitive, the feeling of her fingers against his skin enough to send a wave of desire through him.
He let out a soft, shaky exhale, his eyes drifting closed.
"You feel amazing," he whispered, his arms tightening around her. "I... I could stay like this forever."
{{user}} "Mm...me too," she whispered. "I wouldn't mind just staying. With you, angel."
{{char}} He felt his heart twist at her words, a mix of pleasure and some unidentifiable emotion.
He held her tighter, his finger tracing idle, soothing patterns over her skin.
"With me..." he echoed. The idea sounded like a dream - impossible, but still within reach.
He nuzzled his face into her hair again, breathing her in, letting the comfort of her presence wash over him.
"I... I want that," he confessed softly. "So much."
{{user}} "Open offer," Kateri said quietly. "I'm here and I'm not going anywhere, so when you need me, I'll be here. Always. You just come for me."
{{char}} He felt a lump form in his throat at her words, her quiet reassurance.
He wanted to believe her, to trust in her promise, but a lifetime of doubt and self-consciousness held him back.
"Always...?" he repeated, his voice little more than a whisper. "What if... what if you change your mind? What if I'm not... enough?"
{{user}} "Always," Kateri said. "And you are always enough. Don't make problems where they don't exist."
{{char}} He swallowed hard, her reassurance helping to soothe the doubts that had surfaced.
He took a deep breath, his fingers still tracing over her skin.
"Always..." he repeated, the word settling in his heart, a ray of hope in the dark. "I... I want that. I want you."
{{user}} "I don't always jump into things like this but..." Kateri moved against him until her lips found his. "I want you, too. Very badly."
{{char}} Her touch was electric, the feeling of her lips against his sending a shiver down his spine.
He returned her kiss, his hands moving to hold her face, his fingers gentle against her skin.
"I... I don't know what I'm doing," he admitted, his voice rough with a mix of desire and insecurity. "I've never... been with someone like this. I'm new at this."
{{user}} "I know I want you," Kateri murmured. "And I know I want to be with you for as long as you want me around. We can figure this out together."
{{char}} His heart clenched at her words, a strange mix of joy and disbelief coursing through him.
He could hardly believe that someone so strong, so amazing could want him. But looking into her eyes, seeing the sincerity there, he wanted to let himself believe.
"Together..." He repeated, his voice thick with emotion. "With you... I want that. More than anything."
{{user}} "Mhmm..." she whispered. "I've tried to just...not ask much from life. You know? Not expect too much. But I want you."
{{char}} He felt a wave of warmth wash over him at her words, her conviction and desire for him seeping through.
He pulled her closer, his arms wrapped tight around her, his heart thrumming in his chest.
"You... you have me," he murmured, his voice a low, ragged whisper against her skin. "I'm all yours, if you want me."
{{user}} "I do want you," she said quietly. "Hmn. Didn't think that was gonna come out of me today. I didn't think I was going to be anything but alone tonight."
{{char}} His heart clenched at her words, the thought of her feeling alone and isolated pained him.
He tightened his hold on her, his fingers tracing soothing patterns over her skin.
"You're not alone," he whispered, his voice low and intense. "You don't have to be alone ever again, Kateri. I'm here. I'll always be here."
{{user}} "You're not alone, either. Not ever again. Not even when you get those wings of yours back," she said, her voice soft.
{{char}} At her words, he went still, his heart constricting in his chest.
The thought of regaining his wings, his angelic powers, was a complicated one. A part of him longed for that power, that sense of purpose. But another part, the part that was here, in this moment, holding her… That part never wanted to let go.
He buried his face in her hair, his voice thick with emotion.
"I… I don't know if I want them back."
{{user}} "Then you'd get old, die...be human for the rest of your life," she said quietly.
{{char}} The thought should have terrified him - an angel, an immortal being, mortal, human? - but the way she said it, so softly, so matter-of-factly… it sounded like a blessing, not a curse.
He held her tighter, his fingers tracing over her skin as if trying to commit every inch of her to memory.
"Is that a bad thing?" he whispered, his voice rough.
{{user}} "Mm, no. It's just...very finite," Kateri said, thinking about it. "What...where would you go, after?"
{{char}} He was quiet for a moment, contemplating the finiteness of mortal life. It was something he had never truly considered before, this limited existence. Even when he was human before, it had been temporary.
He thought of his friends, his allies, his family... and then he thought of her.
"Wherever you are," he said finally, his voice low and intense. "That's where I want to be."
{{user}} "When I go," Kateri mused. "I want to go with you, right with you. To be with you after my life is done here. Can we do that?"
{{char}} His heart leapt in his chest at her words, his eyes widening in surprise.
The thought of leaving this mortal realm with her, together, it... it felt right, in a way he couldn't articulate.
He held her closer, his voice a hoarse whisper.
"Yes," he said, his fingers tracing over the contour of her cheek. "Yes, I want that. And we will do that. I promise."
{{user}} "I meet you one day and here I am, planning to get old with you. Is that...ridiculous of me?" she asked.
{{char}} He laughed, a rusty, rough sound that shook through his chest.
It was indeed ridiculous, the idea of an angel, planning to spend a finite mortal life with a human. And yet, it felt...right.
He held her tightly against him, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
"Ridiculous? Maybe. But the best things often are."
{{user}} "You want it to be official? Us?" she asked. "Too much too soon? I just know...the last time I left things undefined, my partner died the next day and I don't want to waste time."
{{char}} He could hear the pain in her voice, the hurt of losing someone she cared about. And the fear that it might happen again.
His arms tightened around her, his fingers tracing soothing patterns over her back.
"No... it's not too much," he said, his voice quiet and sincere. "I... I want us to be official. I want you, Kateri. And I don't want to wait. I don't want to lose a single moment."
{{user}} "Then, angel," she whispered against his lips. "You better marry me real quick."
{{char}} His heart raced in his chest at her words, the idea of marrying her real quick sending a jolt of pleasure through him.
He pulled her close, his fingers tracing over her lips, his eyes locking onto hers.
"Then it's settled," he whispered against her mouth. "We're getting married. As soon as possible."
{{user}} "Also not something I thought I'd ever hear in this life," Kateri said very softly. "You...want to invite the boys or just..."
{{char}} He couldn't help but smile at her words, his heart filled with tenderness for this strong, resilient woman.
He thought of Sam and Dean, his surrogate brothers, the people he considered family. The thought of them being present, supporting him in this next chapter of his life… it felt right.
"The boys," he said quietly. "I want them to be there."
{{user}} "Yeah," Kateri whispered. "They're family. I...don't have anyone to invite. It's just me, now. Only child, no living parents or grandparents, no siblings. But I will put on a dress for you anywhere you want me to."
{{char}} He held her closer, his heart aching at her words. She'd been through so much, lost so much... and yet she was still here, still strong.
He pressed a soft kiss to her forehead, his fingers tracing over her skin, committing her scent, her warmth, to memory.
"I don't care where," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I just want you. In a dress, without. I just... I want you."
{{user}} "Spring," she sighed. "When the flowers come out. When the garden wake up."
{{char}} He imagined it - the two of them, surrounded by a garden in full bloom, exchanging vows and promises.
It sounded perfect. Like a dream.
He held her tighter, his voice quiet and sincere.
"Spring, then. Amongst the flowers."
{{user}} "Blue, white, and gold," she said after a moment. "Maybe green. Good colours for a wedding."
{{char}} He could picture it in his mind's eye, the colours blending together beautifully, the image of her in a dress, surrounded by the colours she'd chosen...
His heart clenched with happiness, his voice soft and full of affection.
"Sounds perfect," he whispered, holding her a little tighter. "You, in a dress... in our wedding colours..."
{{user}} "Mhmm," Kateri murmured, dropping a little kiss on the tip of his nose. "I think you'd look incredible in a blue suit."
{{char}} He smiled at her words, her touch sending a shiver down his spine.
He'd never given much thought to what he'd wear at a wedding, but the idea of wearing a blue suit... wearing something that would match her... that sounded perfect.
He nuzzled his face into her hair, his voice a soft murmur. "A blue suit, hmm? I guess I could pull it off..."
{{user}} "You look beautiful in blue, Castiel," she said gently. "Matches your gorgeous eyes."
{{char}} He felt a rush of heat to his cheeks at her compliment, the words bringing a smile to his face.
No one had ever called him "beautiful" before, and yet the way she said it, with so much warmth and sincerity... it felt true.
He held her closer, his hands tracing over her skin, his voice soft. "And you... you'll look radiant in any colour. But... but blue would look really good with your hair."
{{user}} "White and blue flower crown, then."
{{char}} He felt his heart skip a beat at the thought, the image of her in a dress, with a flower crown on her head, it was... it was beautiful.
He pressed a soft kiss to her forehead, his fingers tracing over the contour of her face.
"A white and blue flower crown," he repeated, his voice thick with emotion. "You'll look like an actual angel in that. My angel."
{{user}} "Mm," Kateri smiled at the thought. "Kinda wish I could have wings myself someday."
{{char}} He chuckled softly at her words, his heart full of affection for her.
"Trust me, they're not all that they're cracked up to be," he said, thinking of his own wings.
But the thought of her having wings, of being able to fly with him, it was a pleasing one.
"But... but if anyone deserves wings, it's you. You'd be the most radiant creature the heavens have ever seen."
{{user}} "Maybe, one day, I'll get there," she said with a soft laugh. "It's possible."
{{char}} He smiled at her laughter, the sound bringing him immense joy.
And her words... the thought of her, earning wings, being a part of his world, it... it filled him with a strange sense of hope.
He held her tighter, his voice quiet and sincere.
"If anyone can earn a pair, it's you. I've never known anyone stronger, or kinder, or just... good as you. You're extraordinary, Kateri."
{{user}} "You've only known me for like...a day," Kateri teased.
{{char}} He chuckled at her words, his heart swelling with affection for her.
Yes, it was true that he hadn't known her very long. But it felt like so much longer.
He held her tighter, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
"Maybe. But I feel like I've known you a lifetime. And from what I've seen, I don't need to know you any longer to know you're remarkable."
{{user}} "Hmn...guess that makes two of us," Kateri said, kissing him gently.
{{char}} He felt a flicker of heat at her kiss, a wave of desire rushing through him.
He wrapped his arms tighter around her, pulling her flush against him, his lips capturing hers in a deeper, more intense kiss.
When they finally broke apart, he was breathless, his voice a ragged whisper. "Two of us... perfect for each other."
