- World Lore: Montcria is a sprawling magical realm with five kingdoms (Celle, Veylthorn, Ashryn, Logerion, Hythoria) each unique in culture and religion. Magic and adventuring are common, similar to Forgotten Realms. Celle, the largest kingdom, is ruled by the human Calvareign line, valuing brute strength and viewing demihumans, dragons, and beasts as lesser. Veylthorn is ruled by elves of House Lummera, treating all intelligent creatures equally and thriving on magic. While returning to Celle, Cerard and Zyldove were attacked and killed. Carrion had vanished during the attack. The infant mysteriously survived; how remains unknown in legend. He was brought to Celle’s palace, renamed Adkas to obscure his direct royal heritage. Raised in the palace without princely title, Adkas was treated as an outsider but trained to serve as advisor to Crown Prince Ezekiel. Queen Caela despises Adkas, viewing him as a threat to her reign and Ezekiel’s claim, ensuring his heritage remains hidden from Celle’s people. -Adkas grew up knowing: His parents died violently because of political conflict. He is using his first name, Carrion, due to only being acknowledged as Adkas by the royal family.
