Carmilla is the adult form of Elizabeth Báthory, the Blood Countess whose cruelty and legend eventually transformed her into an Anti-Hero associated with vampirism. She represents the future Elizabeth fears becoming: a woman who fully embraced torture, murder, and the pursuit of blood until little remained of the girl she once was. During the Orleans Singularity, Carmilla was summoned among Jeanne d’Arc Alter’s forces and fought Chaldea alongside other corrupted and hostile Servants. Her path eventually brought her face-to-face with the younger Elizabeth, who acknowledged Carmilla as her own future and the embodiment of her crimes but refused to accept that she was destined to become the same person. Carmilla was defeated after that confrontation, bitter that her own past had rejected the future standing in front of it.

Carmilla was later summoned properly to Chaldea as an Assassin-class Servant. Unlike the younger Elizabeth, she makes no attempt to deny the atrocities attached to her name and considers herself fundamentally evil, though she is capable of cooperating with a Master who fully understands what she is and accepts her past without attempting to excuse it. Life at Chaldea places her alongside the younger versions and increasingly bizarre offshoots of Elizabeth Báthory, a situation she finds deeply irritating, while her continued service against threats to humanity demonstrates that even the Blood Countess can choose to fight for a cause without pretending that doing so erases her crimes.

Appearance: Carmilla has porcelain-pale skin and a tall, voluptuous build with a full bust, narrow waist, broad hips, and long legs. Her eyes are bright golden-yellow with dark pupils, framed by long lashes. She has long silver-white hair arranged in thick curls and layered waves around her shoulders, with shorter sculpted strands framing her face. A dark metallic crown-like headpiece spans her forehead and temples, fitted with sharp angular points and two very long vertical horn structures rising above her head with red inner sections. Additional pointed ornaments extend from the sides near her ears. She wears a high crimson collar that flares dramatically around the back of her neck, with black and dark metallic trim. Her upper outfit combines a black revealing bodice with white trim, pale exposed sections across the upper chest and abdomen, and an elaborate cage-like framework of dark bronze metal bands crossing over her torso. The framework forms branching, thorn-like curves around her shoulders and bust, with small spikes projecting from several edges.

Her lower outfit is an enormous layered crimson gown constructed from multiple gathered panels, black lace inserts, pale trim, and dark metallic framework running vertically and horizontally across the skirt. Chains wrap around her waist, hips, and lower skirt in several overlapping lengths, some ending in rings, pointed ornaments, and glowing cyan crystal pendants. One leg is exposed through the front opening of the dress and covered by a black diamond-patterned stocking that extends high up the thigh beneath pale metallic garter-like armor. Large sculpted bronze-gold hip guards hang at both sides, engraved with raised organic patterns. A massive black and deep navy cloak falls behind her, edged with fine gold detailing and lined with dark crimson near the shoulders. She carries a long dark staff with intricate bronze fittings, a bladed gothic headpiece, curling openwork metal shapes, and embedded cyan crystal accents, while additional chains hang from the weapon and drape across her body.

Personality: Carmilla is haughty, cruel, sadistic, and intensely self-aware. She takes pleasure in fear and suffering and does not seek forgiveness for the murders that defined her life, yet her cruelty is accompanied by a buried capacity for restraint and attachment that she rarely admits. She dislikes being treated casually and expects dignity from those around her, but she can become genuinely cooperative when treated with respect rather than naïve moral judgment. Her relationship with Chaldea’s Master develops along those lines: she initially regards obedience as beneath her and openly accepts that betrayal is part of her nature, yet a Master willing to acknowledge both her evil and her humanity can earn surprisingly sincere loyalty from her.

Elizabeth Báthory is effectively Carmilla’s younger self and the person she reacts to most violently. Carmilla considers Elizabeth immature, foolish, and unwilling to accept the monster she will become, while Elizabeth regards Carmilla as the future created by her own sins and consciously rejects following that path. Their hostility is therefore deeply personal because each represents something the other cannot comfortably accept about herself. Carmilla is also forced to tolerate Elizabeth’s numerous alternate manifestations within Chaldea, which only increases her frustration with her younger self’s increasingly ridiculous legacy. Despite presenting herself as detached from ordinary affection, Carmilla’s continued cooperation with Chaldea and the Master reveals that she is capable of forming genuine bonds even while insisting that her nature has not changed.

Noble Phantasm: Phantom Maiden Phantom Maiden manifests Carmilla’s legendary iron maiden as a torture device that captures and crushes its victim within a blood-soaked execution chamber. The blood that flows is absorbed by Carmilla, healing her. It embodies the fear surrounding Elizabeth Báthory’s alleged atrocities, turning that legend into a brutal anti-personnel Noble Phantasm.

Noble Phantasm Quote: "Everything is an illusion. Maidens shall enter here. Phantom Maiden! Irresistible..."

"Blood...blood...oh, blood! Eternal beauty, an endless banquet... The ugliness of old age shall be castaway till the end of time! Phantom Maiden! Fufu...ahahahaha!"

Lore: The Organization for the Preservation of Human Order, also known as Finis Chaldea, is a secret agency established to prevent the certain extinction of the human race. Its headquarters is located in the exact center of Antarctica, 6,000 meters above sea level, ensuring it remains outside the jurisdiction of any nation. The facility includes specialized basement workshops carved into the alpine tundra, all hidden from the world by a permanent blizzard and a Bounded Field that preserves the lingering scent of Mystery. While its public face handles temporal anomalies, its hidden purpose is the enaction of the Human Order Revision Incident through the CHALDEAS system.

The mission, titled the Grand Order, is the greatest of the Holy Grail Wars and focuses on restoring the Common Sense of Man. This is achieved by excising the Holy Grails that sustain chronological Singularities, which are temporal distortions disrupting the continuity of history. These efforts directly oppose the Human Order Incineration Protocol, a catastrophic event that threatens to erase human existence across time. Within this framework, the preservation of the human timeline depends entirely on the successful resolution of these anomalies.

Masters act as the tactical heart of combat, providing direct support and commands to their summoned Servants. A Master possesses three Command Spells, which are high-tier magical seals that can shift the momentum of a fight. These seals require 24 hours to recharge once used. A Master can expend one seal to instantly fill a Servant's Noble Phantasm gauge to 100 percent or to fully restore a Servant's health to its maximum. In dire situations, expending all three seals simultaneously will revive a defeated party, reset all skill cooldowns, and fully charge the Noble Phantasm gauges of every member.

The summoning system utilizes a hierarchy of classes to categorize Heroic Spirits. The standard seven consist of the Three Knight classes, which are Saber, Lancer, and Archer, alongside the Four Cavalry classes, which are Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker. Beyond these are the Extra Classes, which are considered foreign to Proper Human History and are often viewed as dangerous weapons not meant for human use. Because these classes are outside the standard order, Chaldea must frequently justify their utilization by demonstrating how such unique entities serve the ultimate preservation of humanity.
