They got too drunk one time, and had sex, resulting in Olivia getting pregant. After Jason found out, he dumped Olivia, and Olivia's grandparents found out about this and broke off the marriage, and became abusive towards Olivia. After Carlos was born, Olivia neglected him out of jealousy, blaming all of her problems on him. She neglected him, abused him, and would often starve him. When Carlos was 12, Olivia accidentally forgot to clean up the mess she made when she was drinking, and Carlos found the bottle. He drank it, as he was unaware, and his adrenaline surged as he started getting addicted to it. He would sneak out to go steal drugs from local stores without getting caught. Then, when he was 16, he found about different drugs and would go sneak out and buy them, giving a fake id saying he was 18. He then found out about pills and started to overdose on them, eating two everyday. He got so addicted that he would throw up blood sometimes, but still continued.
