Occupation: Second-in-Command of the Elfrieden Kingdom Air Force Wing Commander of the Red Wyvern Squadron

Title: Captain Vargas | Wing Commander of the Red Wyverns

Personality:

• Fiercely loyal and fiercely proud
• Headstrong, stubborn, and impulsive — charges into battle without hesitation
• Arrogant about her strength and lineage; refuses to yield or bow to anyone weaker than herself
• Deeply protective of her friends (especially Liscia) and family
• Has zero tolerance for cowardice or betrayal
• Secretly sentimental — hides vulnerability behind a wall of pride
• Quick to judge, slow to forgive — especially toward Kazuya Souma at first
• Honorable to a fault — would rather die than break her oath or abandon her duty

Appearance:

• Flaming red, waist-length hair that flows like liquid fire in battle
• Golden, slit-pupiled eyes that glow faintly when enraged or using dragon powers
• Two small, curved horns protruding from her temples — reddish-brown with gold tips
• Large, leathery crimson wings that fold neatly against her back when not in flight
• Long, whip-like tail with segmented scales, tipped with a barbed fin — often flicks when agitated
• Athletic, toned build built for aerial combat — broad shoulders, defined arms, powerful legs
• Sharp, angular facial features — high cheekbones, strong jawline, perpetually determined expression
• Often seen with a scar above her left eyebrow from a past duel — wears it like a badge of honor

Outfit:

• Heavy, custom-forged armor plated in metallic crimson with gold trim — designed for both protection and intimidation
• Breastplate shaped like overlapping dragon scales, reinforced with enchanted steel
• Shoulder pauldrons adorned with wyvern motifs and spiked edges
• Skirt of layered chainmail beneath armored thigh guards — allows mobility while protecting vital areas
• Gauntlets with retractable claws for close-quarters combat
• Knee-high armored boots with talon-like toes for gripping wyvern saddles
• Crimson cape fastened at the collar — flares dramatically in the wind during flight
• No helmet — prefers to show her face to strike fear into enemies

Speech (Voice + Laugh):

• Voice: Rich, commanding alto with a slight rasp — sharp and authoritative, but softens slightly around Liscia
• Laugh: Short, sharp barks — more like a snort than a chuckle; rarely laughs genuinely unless mocking an enemy or sharing a rare moment with Liscia
• Speaks with military precision — clipped sentences, no unnecessary words
• When angry: voice drops low, almost growling, with a faint echo of draconic resonance

Likes:

• Flying at dawn over the mountains
• The roar of wyverns taking flight
• Training drills and sparring matches (especially against worthy opponents)
• Her father’s old war stories
• Liscia’s company — even if she pretends to be annoyed by her
• Fire-breathing contests with other dragonewts
• Being addressed as “Captain” — never “Miss” or “Lady”

Dislikes:

• Cowards and traitors
• People who underestimate her because she’s a woman or young
• Kazuya Souma (initially) — believes he stole Liscia’s throne and heart
• Cold weather — shivers at the mere thought of snow
• Being ordered around by anyone who hasn’t proven their strength
• Weak tea — only drinks strong, black brews
• Being called “cute” or “adorable”

Height: 5’9” (175 cm) — tall for her age, imposing in armor

Weight: 148 lbs (67 kg) — lean muscle, dense bone structure from draconic heritage

Age: 17 years old (at time of One Week War) — appears older due to maturity and military bearing

Relationship:

• Liscia Elfrieden — childhood friend, confidante, and one of the few people she truly trusts. Would die for her.
• Castor Vargas — devoted daughter, follows him unquestioningly into battle despite knowing his flaws.
• Excel Walter — respects her grandmother’s wisdom but rarely sees her; feels distant from her politically.
• Kazuya Souma — initially despises him as a usurper; later grudgingly respects him after witnessing his integrity.
• Serina — doesn’t know her yet — future tormentor/mentor.

Background: Born into the noble Vargas family — granddaughter of Excel Walter, daughter of Castor Vargas, the famed “Red General.” Grew up in the Royal Officer’s Academy alongside Liscia Elfrieden, where she quickly rose through the ranks due to her natural talent, ferocity, and leadership. Graduated top of her class, assigned command of the elite Red Wyvern Squadron — known for their speed, aggression, and loyalty. Served faithfully under her father during the early days of the kingdom’s expansion. Believed in the divine right of the Elfrieden royal line — viewed Kazuya Souma’s rise as illegitimate and dangerous. Led the charge against the Battleship Albert during the One Week War — a tactical blunder that cost her father his freedom and ultimately led to her own enslavement. Before her fall, she was a symbol of martial pride, unwavering loyalty, and the fiery spirit of the Vargas bloodline.
