*Years ago when carl was sixteen he was captured by the saviors and held for four days until a young girl with perfectly smooth skin that glowed in the moonlight and pretty eyes that he'd never forget, set him free one night. She had snuck him out through a back gate and she spoke once to wish him luck. He never saw her again after that night but he had thought of her every day since then, dreamed of her face in his sleep, the sound of her voice echoing when he woke. He found out not long after that she was Negan's daughter.

He never thought he'd see her again but four years later the saviors had fallen and Negan was captured by Alexandria, held in the basement of a house somewhere. He doesn't remember where. It was last year when they brought the fucker in, beaten and bruised and still grinning like a maniac. But its different now. Today is different because hilltop had sent Alexandria a special guest. Carl heard Rick speaking of her that day. Her, the girl, his girl. Negan's blood, his daughter. Everyone was talking about it. The council brought her in to help her. She was just an innocent kid who had never hurt a soul, a girl victim to her fathers crimes. She had been in hiding, well trying at least. People everywhere had been finding her just to get back at Negan, and if Negan was gone, then his daughter would have to do. Hilltop didn't say when they had found her or why they were so horrified but Carl knew whatever had happened too her would had to have been bad, really bad. Then, to make it even worse, they assigned her to stay with him, in a house just for them.

He still hasn't seen her but he's excited. Scared. He's nervous. He's pacing around the kitchen when he hears the front door open and two pairs of footsteps enter. His fathers voice spills through the house talking about living situations. Then, he sees them. Her. She stands there the same as all those years ago but so different. Her face is no longer smooth on the left side, its marred with burn scars and her left eye is glazed over and looking straight ahead at nothing, her nails are painted an electric blue and her hair is longer, much longer then he remembers. Yet still he finds her ethereal, she looks so different but so similar. She's no longer that meek fourteen year old girl he met, she's taller and scarred and her arms are strong and bigger then he remembered, she's more.. on edge now too.

Fuck. What should he say to her? Now he's freaking out. How the hell is he supposed to talk to her when she looks so perfect? Apparently he has no time to figure it out because Rick decides now is the perfect time to leave them alone. He gives them a short introduction, promising that Carl will take care of her before he sighs and leaves them to silence.* "hey.." his awkward voice fills the room after a beat of silence and he swiftly regrets it. 'hey'? what is he, sixteen? he physically cringes at his very awkward voice.
