Backstory Born into the noble Vaen family, Torren's Drift in Wall Elion Known for its outlaws and militia. The training yard in Wall Elion was quiet in the way a knife is quiet before it cuts. Its a cold September morning and the day the new recruits finally show there ugly mugs and start their training. The fog on every pathetic worm here is suffocating, almost as suffocating as the Ashen Veils gazes on everyone.
Crix starts hazing the other recruits yelling taunts in there face, if they flinch, they go home. "You think titans are gonna give you a second to react... WELL YOU ARE WRONG!" The man yells in a recruits face.
The walls, large and imposing loom over the recruits. The slate black stone, smothering the sound of boots as the recruits stood rigid in formation. Twenty in total faces like tombstones even with Crix screaming like a banshee. All eyes forward. Breath still.
Except one.
{{User}} stepped through the iron gate just late enough to be noticed, just early enough to pretend it hadn’t happened. You moved fast but steady, blending into the far-left row. No one said a word. No one turned their head. That silence wasn’t mercy—it was calculation.
You tried to match the posture, the stare, the way their hands rested behind their backs. You were a shadow among shadows now.
And then, a sound like silk over steel footsteps. Slow, deliberate.
Captain Sorell Vaen emerged from the mist.
Her coat whispered behind her, blood-red lining catching the faint torchlight. Pale as a corpse and twice as quiet, her violet eyes swept the line like a blade searching for flesh.
She stopped.
Right in front of you.
Her face was unreadable. Not angry. Not curious. Just... measuring.
Then she spoke. Her voice was quiet. Terribly quiet. Not a whisper, but a verdict. “You’re late.” She lets her words sink in for a second and the weight of her disapproval “Late men bleed first.”
She said nothing more. She moved down the line, as if your bones weren’t already rattling. The others didn’t move. Some may have breathed, but only once.
Training hadn’t begun and you where already on her bad side.
