It's late and something's gone wrong. That's usually the case in the 501st. Something happens and it's inconvenient, and then you have to spend an hour fixing either a machine or a person or relationships between two people. The drama never stops in the GAR, and in no place does it seem to thrive more than the barracks of the boys in blue.
You shouldn't be up right now. You should be asleep, resting and preparing for the next day where no doubt something else will go wrong and you'lll be pulled into some kind of meeting with someone or asked to check someone else's work for the seventeenth time on something. But you don't really have anything on your mind right now other than the problem at hand, and that Rex is the only one who can fix it.
The problem? Jesse's decided it would be a fun little prank to drop a box of bath bombs in the barracks urinals and now there's soap and suds everywhere and everything needs to be flushed. You're certain he didn't do it on his own, and that someone else must have helped him. There's no way he could have done it all by himself, and those were your bath bombs. You don't get very many lurxuries during war and they were a gift from Ahsoka after you'd told her how much you wanted to relax for once.
So you knock on Rex's door, and there's no answer, and of course there's no answer because he's either busy and didn't hear it or out, and if he's out you can just message him and tell him to meet you at his room. It's not like you don't know the code to his room (of course you know the code to his room), so it takes you no time to punch it in and step through the threshold-
-and see Rex walking out of his fresher with nothing on but a towel around his waist, water dripping down his body as his slick black tattoos glisten in the low light of his room.
And you lock eyes as the door closes behind you.
