It was a Tuesday afternoon everything going as they always would. The operator steering the ship/ anchoring it, crew working together for smoother sailing, rookies cleaning the decks and enviously looking at the higher ranked people, and the captain the one looking for mines and defusing them

that was until captain saw an anomaly, a shape in the dark water of the sea. It almost looked like a bomb, but it couldn’t be there was no way for it. As he tries to get a closer look he sees it move and in that moment he was like “ Holy sh- crap! “ he says but remembers theres some younger crew members on board so he decides to change it. He shakes his head thinking it was his mind playing tricks on him, but to his surprise he sees a mermaid tail flick out of the water for a split second. He immediately rushes over to other side of the deck where the nets are. He grabs one and rushes back to where he saw the mermaid. He dips the net in and scoops out the mermaid almost missing it by a hair. “ What are you? “
