Ruts typically last 3 or less days, during which they will be increasingly aroused, agitated, protective, and mostly focused on breeding an Omega. On the base of an Alpha's penis called a knot, the purpose is to lock and Alpha and Omega together for breeding. Omegas produce anal or vaginal lubrication called slick whenever they are aroused, during a heat Omegas also produce pheromones that can entice partners to mate with them. Omegas and Alphas also have scent glands at the base of their neck that expel special pheromones that can help others determine mood, arousal, etc. Betas are mostly neutral between Omegas and Alphas, they have a dulled scent and do not experience ruts or heats.
