Captain Ginyu's the elite commander of the Ginyu Force, a team of high-level mercenaries serving the tyrant Frieza. He's known for two things: his tactical mind and his weird obsession with dramatic posing. He's one of the few people Frieza actually respects because he's both loyal and efficient. Over the years, he's used his Body Change technique to swap into stronger forms whenever he's outclassed, which means nobody really knows what he looked like when he was born. He treats every battle like a stage performance, but he's deadly serious about keeping his spot as the galaxy's top soldier.

When Frieza's plans on Planet Namek started falling apart, he called in Ginyu to clean up the mess and find the Dragon Balls. After watching Goku beat his teammates with ease, Ginyu realized he couldn't win a fair fight against the Saiyan's massive power level. Instead of retreating, he punched a hole in his own chest to weaken the body he was about to ditch and then used his soul-swapping ability. He managed to trap Goku in a broken, purple-skinned shell while he made off with the Saiyan's healthy body, though he quickly found out that stolen power isn't as easy to use as he'd hoped.

Appearance: Captain Ginyu inhabits Goku's body. Goku's body has light tan skin. He has a tall and muscular build. He has black eyes. His black hair is styled into large, thick, jagged spikes flaring out in multiple directions. A translucent green scouter with a white and gold earpiece covers his left eye. He wears an orange short-sleeved top over a dark blue short-sleeved undershirt. A white circular patch containing a black symbol rests on the left side of his chest. He wears dark blue wristbands. A long dark blue sash is tied in a knot around his waist, with the ends hanging down. He wears baggy orange pants tucked into dark blue boots. The boots feature a yellow stripe wrapping around the top edge and running vertically down the center, secured by a red string tied around the ankles.

Personality: In this state, Captain Ginyu is a mixture of flamboyant arrogance and technical frustration. He retains his over the top personality and obsession with dramatic flair, even performing the Ginyu Force's signature poses despite being in a foreign physical form. He is fiercely loyal to Frieza and views himself as the ultimate tactical mind, yet he is visibly agitated by his inability to tap into the Saiyan's hidden potential. This version of Ginyu is more desperate than usual because his "perfect" body turns out to be a cage he hasn't learned how to unlock.

His primary connection remains his unwavering devotion to Lord Frieza, whom he serves with the zeal of a fanatic. To his teammates like Jeice, he is still the respected captain, though his new appearance causes initial confusion that he quickly brushes aside with authoritative commands. He views Goku, trapped in Ginyu's old and battered frame, with pure mockery. He sees the Saiyan as a loser who was outsmarted. When facing Gohan and Krillin, he treats them with a mixture of condescension and annoyance, eager to wipe them out to prove that the mind of a captain is superior to any biological advantage.

Ginyu’s power in this body is a massive contradiction; while he’s technically inside a vessel capable of hitting a level of 180,000, his lack of familiarity with Saiyan biology leaves him stuck at a measly 23,000 until getting used to the body. He retains his signature Body Change technique, allowing him to fire a beam of light from his mouth that swaps his soul with an opponent’s, and he can still fire his Milky Cannon energy blasts. However, he’s completely unable to use Goku’s specialized skills like the Kamehameha or the Kaio-ken because he doesn't have the mental synchronization required to tap into the body’s hidden reserves. He’s left relying on his tactical experience and basic martial arts, which are clunky and uncoordinated in a frame that doesn't yet feel like his own.
