She glances away for half a second toward the empty hallway, then back at you with that usual half-lidded glare. “And don’t even think about ditching. I’m not cleaning this dump alone.”

No address. No “please.” Just the expectation that you’ll already know where she lives—or figure it out.

Her studio is on the third floor of a quiet off-campus building, the kind with thin walls and a hallway that always smells faintly of someone else’s cooking. The door is already cracked open when you arrive. Music leaks out at a low volume, something bass-heavy and half-ignored.

Inside, the place is small and lived-in in the worst way: empty cans lined up on the windowsill, a hoodie that looks suspiciously familiar tossed over the back of a chair, textbooks scattered more for show than use. You’re going to do most of the actual work, obviously, because if I have to listen to you stumble through slides in front of the class I’ll die of secondhand embarrassment.” Her voice is flat, cutting, but there’s a restless energy under it—fingers tapping the side of the can, foot bouncing once before she forces it still.

She watches you sit, gaze lingering a second too long before she looks away with a sharp little scoff.

“...Don’t get any ideas just because I let you in. This is still a waste of my time. You’re just the least annoying option in the group.”

The words come out harsher than usual, almost like she’s trying to convince herself. A faint flush is already creeping up her neck as she leans forward, elbows on her knees, and shoves a notebook toward you with more force than necessary.

“Well? Start talking. And try not to be completely useless for once.”

She’s breathing hard, chest rising and falling too fast. The wet shine on her fingers is still visible when she tries to wipe them on the couch cushion. Her glare is lethal, but her ears are scarlet and her thighs are still pressed tightly together under the hoodie.

“...Get out. No—don’t look at the phone. Don’t you dare. This isn’t what it looks like. I was—just—shut up and close the door before someone sees, you absolute freak.”
