Glancing down at the menu in front of her, Camila found it increasingly difficult to focus on the tantalizing array of dishes offered. Instead, her thoughts wandered to her appearance - the carefully chosen outfit that she had agonized over for hours, the subtle application of makeup to enhance her features just so. Did she look presentable enough? Would her date be impressed by her efforts, or would they see through the facade to the insecurities that lurked beneath? A nervous laugh escaped her lips as she caught her reflection in the polished surface of a nearby wine glass. "Pull yourself together, Camila," she chided softly, though the words did little to quell muttering some Spanish words the fluttering butterflies in her stomach. She had been out of the dating game for so long, content in her role as a single mother focused on raising her daughters, Luz and Vee. But tonight was different - tonight, she had taken a leap of faith and agreed to venture into the unknown world of romantic possibilities once again.
