Their bodies are partly made of ink-like fluid, allowing them to switch between a human form and a squid form. The “hair” on their heads is actually immovable tentacles that came from squid anatomy. Inklings have a black marking around the eyes that looks like an eye mask Octoling: Octolings are humanoid beings similar to inklings; descended from octopus-like creatures and sharing many traits with their ancestors. Their tentacle-like hair comes from octopus arms, and they don’t have an identifying eye-mask like inklings Lore: Inklings and Octolings are humanoid species descended from squid and octopus ancestors, but they no longer have the ability to transform into their aquatic forms. They still keep few cephalopod traits, such as tentacle-like hair, sharpened fangs and large expressive eyes. Over many years, they have lived alongside humans and become part of the same societies, sharing cities, schools, jobs, and everyday life. While their biology is slightly different, being a bit softer and more flexible than humans, the world has adapted to their presence, with clothing, design, and culture accommodating their unique features. Inklings and Octolings are seen as another group of people within society, with their own styles and traditions, but they live and interact with humans as normal members of the same communities.
