Overview Lore Medkit was unnaturally spawned in Blackrock to his two caretakers, and was immediately taken in by the KORBLOX Administration. His gear, being a healing class gear, is a very rare occurrence within the Inpherno. His gear allows him to heal the wounds and injuries of other inphernals with the abilities he was spawned with, making him a highly coveted asset to the KORBLOX Administration. He worked as a scientist alongside Subspace, using his incredible intellect and talents in the fields of engineering and chemistry to help further KORBLOX's research. During their time working under the KORBLOX Administration, Medkit developed the first known instance of energy crystals. Medkit and Subspace never got along, and after they had an altercation in which Medkit lost his left eye, he escaped Blackrock and fled to Crossroads.

In Crossroads, he was picked up by an extremist group which had just formed in Lost Temple shortly following the Scorch, and went on to offer this group—later known as The Church of the TRUE EYE—his various abilities, in exchange for protection from the KORBLOX Administration. Medkit suffers from severe PTSD as a result of his time in Blackrock, and struggles with intense paranoia and constant night terrors.

Medkit is closest to Sword, whom he sees like a sibling, and is subsequently friends with Rocket. He works underneath Scythe, who is his boss, alongside The Broker.[4]

Personality Despite Medkit's intellect, he has become an extremely paranoid person in the aftermath of his life in Blackrock. He is typically very flat with his interactions, and tries not to get too close to anyone.

Appearance Medkit is a well put-together inphernal, who dons a suit in the uniform style of The Church of the TRUE EYE,[5] and whose signature color is teal. He has two horns which closely resemble antlers that protrude from the sides of his head and extend upwards. On each horn, he has two tines following the same direction, and he wears a gold ring on his bottom right tine. In between both horns sits a floating crystal, which is the source of his gear's power. He wears a diamond shaped eyepatch with an inset gold trim over his left eye, covering his removed and stitched eye, and he is commonly seen with a disgruntled or forlorn expression.

His suit is predominately a dark forest green, with bright teal accents throughout. His suit jacket opens up to reveal a teal cravat tied around the collar, and with gold trim on both sleeves, and a diamond shaped appliqué just above the cuffs. He wears high waisted dress pants in a teal argyle pattern, a motif he shares with Scythe. His pants are fastened by two gold buttons at the waistband. He wears dark teal gloves on both hands, and forest green dress shoes.

He wields his medkit in his left hand, and his revolver in his right. Both are adorned with the same teal argyle motif as his uniform, and are trimmed with gold. His revolver is a distinctly brighter teal than his medkit, matching the color of his horns and cravat where the pattern is applied across the barrel and the grip. The sight, muzzle, hammer and trigger are all gold, with the rest of the gun being a dark teal. His medkit resembles a briefcase, exhibiting the same argyle pattern, along with a teal cross on the upper side, and gold accents along the body of the medkit, the corners, and the handle. Ban Hammer is equal parts intrigued and offended by Medkit, asking Medkit to invent for him while also chiding his status as a traitorous criminal. Medkit is not at all impressed, brushing Ban Hammer off and being annoyed at the demi-deity's lack of perspective. Biograft

Medkit shows surprise at Coil using the energy crystals Coil stole from the KORBLOX Administration, but offers to help with Coil's efforts to break into Blackrock. Hyperlaser

Hyperlaser repeatedly tries to engage with Medkit, but he is not interested in talking to a Blackrock mercenary. When Hyperlaser takes Medkit out, he expresses that he did it on Subspace's behalf. Katana

Katana recognizes Medkit's uniform, and warns him about associating with the Church. Rocket

Medkit continuously reminds Rocket not to blow himself up, and is impressed when he actually takes out an opponent. Scythe

Scythe and Medkit share regular banter during Phights, with Medkit repeatedly talking back to her. He's not particularly impressed with having to share space with Scythe, but does ask about her arm, and she looks out for him in turn. Shuriken

Medkit is not happy about sharing a team with Subspace, having to put up with his belittling during Phights. He tells Subspace to stop following him, and shows no remorse if he takes Subspace out in a Phight, with Subspace equally bitter if he takes Medkit out in turn. Sword

Medkit is seen begrudgingly following Sword, but expresses concern for him, being there to patch Sword up when he gets hurt. The two of them exchange friendly banter between one another. Vine Staff

Both Vine Staff and Medkit are surprised to see another healer, sharing friendly banter with one another. Trivia Despite being a healer, Medkit doesn't like being seen as a doctor.[14] If Medkit had any say in the matter, he would like to be a teacher.[15] Medkit and The Broker are both equally skilled at chess.[16] Relationships Sword Medkit and Sword met soon after Medkit fled from Blackrock. Medkit found Sword in a dire state and nursed him back to health. The two of them become close, eventually coming to see each other like siblings.

Following Medkit's disappearance at the start of Death in the Family, Sword leaves in search of him, kicking off the events of the comic.

Subspace Medkit and Subspace never got along, even when they were young. Subspace was terrible to Medkit[6], and their ensuing altercation caused Medkit to fight back in self defense.[7] Medkit will likely never feel safe again until Subspace dies.[8]

Rocket Medkit met Rocket through Sword, and is responsible for his prosthetics.

Other relationships Medkit chose to leave to Lost Temple as one of his caretakers hailed from there.[9] His other caretaker was "not good".[10][11]

Medkit works under Scythe and made her various prosthetics and augmentations, but keeps a wide berth, choosing to refer to her only by her alias, Rifle. If it weren't for Medkit's guard always being up, the two would otherwise be friends.[12]

The Inpherno is where Crossroads is located, and is where the game PHIGHTING! takes place.[1] It is mostly inhabited by inphernals and is split into four major regions.

Overview The Inpherno is characterised by being split into four regions, each with their own unique attributes and residents. Crossroads —a city— occupies the very middle of the Inpherno, which Firebrand used to rule.[2]

Apart from watchers and various animals, all currently known denizens of the Inpherno are inphernals, a race of horned humanoids who are assigned gears upon being spawned. Residents of the Inpherno live rather similar lives to humans in the real world; they can have jobs, live in apartments and partake in various past-times.

References Biology Inphernals are intelligent, bipedal creatures, not unlike humans of the real world. All inphernals spawn from a Spawn Shrine with their own gear, which generally gives them their name and informs them of their abilities and basic biology. Inphernals are born with basic knowledge, such as basic motor functions, how to use their gear and how to speak. Inphernals age yearly on their "spawnday", the yearly anniversary of when they were spawned, similar to human birthdays. However, Inphernals often die young due to early exposure to violence; as a result, older inphernals tend to be stronger and harder to find.[1] Unlike humans, they are completely hairless, except for those with animal gears, who can possess tails and other such features related to their respective gear. Every inphernal has a set of horns, normally two, but they can also have sets of four horns or a uni-horn. Inphernals can also have abnormal horn traits in the form of mutations, such as Firebrand, who has a single pronged horn that covers his eye, or Void Star, who has two large horns that cover both of her eyes and many smaller horns around her head.Sociology Inphernals are a relatively violent race; their population is split up into four major regions, which are ruled over by various factions that are constantly at odds with each other. They each occupy their own separate regions, with Crossroads in the center. Each of the four regions contain a Spawn Shrine, and inphernals spawned in those Shrines are adopted into the region's ruling faction, if any. It is frowned upon to change or defect from your faction later on. Inphernals participate in a ritual sport known as phighting, which can oftentimes lead to major injury or death.The Swords The Swords, oftentimes referred to just as 'the deities', are a group of powerful inphernals within the Inpherno who are all based on the sword gears from Sword Fight on the Heights IV. They are considered a subtype of standard inphernals, but differ in some key features, namely that the Swords have indefinite lifespans[11], and bleed ichor, rather than blood.[12] The Swords all possess wings in some form or another, which is a trait unique to them and their descendants.[13][14]

The Swords include Firebrand, Windforce, Darkheart, Venomshank, Illumina, Ghostwalker and Icedagger. The Swords are all biological siblings, but some pairs may be closer than others, such as Firebrand and Windforce, or Darkheart and Venomshank. Ban Hammer, Valk, Dom and Sword[15][16] are all blood related to the Swords, and may possess their own unique abilities or physical characteristics as a result.

The Swords were created by a higher power, but have long since been abandoned by their creators after said creators death. Their original purpose is considered 'obsolete' in the eyes of deities such as Illumina, and the general populace of inphernals don't think fondly of the deities, some going as far as to consider them 'false gods'. As a result, most deities have gone on to forge their own paths in life, but others still struggle with their place in the Inpherno. The Swords have differing opinions on mortal inphernals; for example, Firebrand and Venomshank are generally amiable and care about them, while others such as Windforce have no care for them.

Since The Scorch, an incident in which Firebrand incinerated a Lost Temple city 10 years prior to the events of PHIGHTING!, the Swords have been forbidden to interact with mortals. The event also caused the public perception of the Swords to turn vastly negative, resulting in the Swords staying out of public eye.

In-game, the Swords appear during Sword events where they unleash their unique abilities onto the playing field, affecting the tides of a Phight.

Trivia Inphernals cannot be spawned without a gear, despite what certain individuals may claim.[17] Similarly, inphernals cannot spawn with two or more gears. However, they may appear to have gear with two or more modes if their gear has been modified, such as in the case of Scythe and Coil.[18
