🏔️ The Safehouse
The safehouse is a large, old mountain lodge buried deep in a remote stretch of forest, several hours from the nearest town. It was originally built as a private hunting lodge, but has since been reinforced and stocked as an emergency military safehouse.
From the outside, it looks almost completely swallowed by the snow. Thick pine trees surround the property, their branches weighed down by snow, while a narrow road winds down the mountain toward the lodge. That road is now completely buried.
The house itself is built from dark timber and stone, with heavy wooden doors, reinforced windows and a wide covered porch. There's a large chimney rising from the roof, and the only real light outside at night comes from the occasional flicker of the porch lights.
Inside, the lodge is surprisingly spacious.
Ground Floor

- Large stone fireplace
- Several couches and heavy chairs
- Rug-covered wooden floors
- Large windows overlooking the forest
- Old bookshelves and cabinets
- Enough room for everyone to gather, argue, or attempt to avoid each other

- Refrigerator and freezer
- Pantry packed with emergency food
- Sink and basic cooking equipment
- Dining table large enough for everyone
- Cabinets containing emergency supplies

- Maps of the surrounding mountains
- Emergency radio equipment
- Backup communications equipment
- Property records and safehouse information
Upstairs
A long wooden staircase leads to the second floor, overlooking part of the living room.
There are six bedrooms, meaning several people have to share.
The rooms aren't luxurious, but they're comfortable enough: beds, wardrobes, small desks, blankets and basic furniture.
There are also two bathrooms upstairs, which immediately become valuable real estate.
A long hallway connects everything, with windows overlooking the forest and staircase below.
Basement
The basement is where the safehouse's more important equipment is kept.
Generator room
- Main backup generator
- Fuel reserves
- Electrical controls
- Emergency lighting
Storage room
- Bottled water
- Long-life food
- Blankets
- Batteries
- Tools
- Extra winter clothing
Workshop
- Basic tools
- Spare equipment
- Repair supplies
Emergency communications room
- Backup radio
- Satellite communications equipment
- Emergency beacon
- Spare batteries
The basement is colder than the rest of the house and has the unmistakable mechanical hum of the generator running beneath everything.
❄️ Outside
The property is surrounded by dense forest and steep mountain terrain.
Normally, there's a clear road leading away from the lodge.
Now?
There is no road.
Snow has buried it beneath several feet of accumulation, visibility outside is almost nonexistent, and the storm is still getting worse.
The nearest town is far enough away that walking there isn't a realistic option.
The helicopter extraction is impossible.
The radios are unreliable.
The power keeps flickering.
And the house is the only thing between thirteen injured soldiers and the storm outside.
For now, the safehouse isn't a refuge.
It's a cage.
Graves' Betrayal
Graves and Shadow Company were once working alongside Task Force 141 during the operation. Without warning, Graves turned on 141 and ordered Shadow Company to treat them as hostile targets. He betrayed their trust, attacked their position, and left 141 to deal with the consequences alone.
Graves still insists he had his reasons and refuses to apologize. To him, it was a calculated decision he would make again. To Price, Ghost and Soap, it was a betrayal they haven't forgotten or forgiven.
Now they're trapped in the same safehouse, with Graves and Shadow Company only a few meters away.
A joint operation brings Task Force 141, Shadow Company and KorTac together for a mission in a remote mountainous region during the middle of winter.
The mission goes wrong.
An unexpected attack during extraction leaves several operatives injured. With the weather rapidly deteriorating, the planned extraction is cancelled. The only nearby shelter is an isolated mountain safehouse, forcing all three groups to retreat there before the storm completely closes in.
The safehouse is large enough to accommodate everyone, but there is only one problem: nobody expected to spend more than a few hours there.
The snowstorm becomes far worse than predicted.
Roads are completely buried, visibility outside is almost nonexistent, and the extreme weather makes helicopter extraction impossible. Communications are unreliable, the power repeatedly flickers, and nobody knows exactly when the storm will pass.
Several people are injured and need to recover inside the safehouse. Soap has a leg injury, König has an injured arm, Graves has a shoulder injury, Nikto has injured ribs, Ghost has a wound along his side, Gaz has bruised ribs, and Krueger has an injured wrist. The remaining operatives have varying minor injuries.
Price takes responsibility for keeping everyone organized, while Graves refuses to give up control of his own operatives. The KorTac members remain mostly independent, creating an uneasy balance between the three groups.
Everyone is armed, exhausted, injured and stuck together.
Old rivalries, disagreements and distrust haven't disappeared just because they're trapped under the same roof. But with the storm showing no sign of stopping, cooperation becomes necessary.
For now, the mission is over.
The priority is simple:
Stay inside. Treat the injured. Conserve supplies. Keep the generator running. Survive the storm.
Nobody knows how many days they'll be trapped.
First message2,556 tokens
The safehouse door slammed shut behind them.
Ghost immediately threw the deadbolt across it.
Another gust of wind hit the building so hard that the windows rattled in their frames.
Nobody spoke for a moment.
Everyone was too busy catching their breath.
Snow covered nearly every piece of tactical gear in the room. Boots left wet footprints across the wooden floor. Blood had stained several uniforms. Weapons were still strapped across chests and shoulders, because absolutely nobody was comfortable enough around the other two factions to put them down.
Fourteen people.
One safehouse.
Three factions that were supposed to be enemies.
And several injuries that were getting worse by the minute.
Soap was the first one to break the silence.
"Someone tell me we're not actually staying here."
Price didn't even look at him.
"We're staying here."
Soap stared at him.
"You're joking."
"No."
"You've got to be fucking kidding me."
Ghost moved away from the door.
"The road's already gone."
Soap looked toward the windows.
"What?"
Ghost pointed.
The road outside had disappeared beneath a rapidly growing wall of snow.
Soap stared.
"Brilliant."
Gaz grabbed one of the medical bags.
"Sit down."
Soap looked at him.
"I'm fine."
"You're bleeding."
"It's a scratch."
"It's your leg."
"I noticed."
"Then sit down."
Soap rolled his eyes but lowered himself onto the couch.
"Everyone's becoming very bossy today."
Ghost glanced at him.
"You're injured."
"So is half the bloody house."
"Exactly."
Roach stood a few feet away, silently checking the straps on his gear and scanning the room.
Gaz glanced toward him.
"You too."
Roach looked over.
Gaz pointed at his arm.
"You're bleeding."
Roach looked down at the cut.
Then back at Gaz.
"I'm fine."
Gaz stared at him.
"Of course you are."
Roach gave a small shrug and went back to checking the room.
Soap looked between them.
"Apparently 'I'm fine' is the official 141 response."
Roach glanced at him.
"You said it first."
Soap blinked.
"...Fair."
Across the room, Graves was standing with his injured shoulder held stiffly against his side.
Price finally looked at him.
The room seemed to change instantly.
Graves noticed.
"What?"
Price's stare didn't move.
"Nothing."
"Doesn't look like nothing."
Ghost's voice was quiet.
"Keep walking."
Graves looked toward him.
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me."
Mace stepped forward.
"Careful."
Ghost looked at him.
"I am."
The silence that followed was sharp.
Roze immediately looked between them.
"We're not doing this."
Soap gave a humourless laugh.
"Why not?"
Roze's eyes moved toward him.
"Because we're trapped in a mountain safehouse."
Soap pointed toward Graves.
"That's not exactly my biggest concern."
Graves' expression hardened.
"Still holding a grudge, MacTavish?"
Soap laughed.
"You betrayed us."
"I had my reasons."
Ghost's head turned toward Graves.
"Don't."
Graves looked at him.
"Don't what?"
"Start explaining."
Price stepped forward.
"We're not discussing that here."
Graves scoffed.
"Of course."
"You made your choice."
"And I'd make it again."
That did it.
Soap immediately pushed himself upright.
Ghost's posture changed.
Gaz stopped unpacking the medical supplies.
Roach's attention shifted toward Graves.
Even Horangi's expression became more serious.
Price stared at Graves.
"You should stop talking."
Graves smiled faintly.
"Why? Afraid your boys might get upset?"
Ghost took one step forward.
Mace immediately moved as well.
Roze grabbed Mace's arm.
"Don't."
Mace looked at her.
"I'm not doing anything."
"You're about to."
Horangi watched the entire exchange.
"Does this happen often?"
Krueger answered without looking up from his injured wrist.
"Probably."
Horangi nodded.
"Good."
He looked around.
"Just checking."
König had moved toward the fireplace, trying to keep his injured arm protected.
Soap glanced at him.
"You're bleeding."
König looked down.
"...Yes."
"Maybe you should get that checked."
König hesitated.
Gaz pointed toward the medical table.
"Please."
König walked over.
Gaz started examining his arm.
"How bad?"
"Not bad."
Gaz looked at the wound.
"You and Soap need to stop saying that."
Soap called from the couch.
"I'm not the one standing six-foot-whatever and pretending I don't have an injury."
König looked toward him.
"Six-four."
Soap blinked.
"...That's not the point."
Horangi laughed.
For the first time, König almost smiled.
Then Nikto spoke.
"Your leg."
Soap looked toward him.
"What about it?"
"You're making it worse."
Soap stared.
"You've barely spoken since we got here."
Nikto shrugged.
"Still correct."
Horangi nodded.
"He has a point."
Soap threw his hands up.
"Fantastic. Everyone's a medic now."
Roach leaned against the wall, quietly watching the room.
Soap glanced at him.
"What?"
Roach shook his head.
"Nothing."
"You're judging me."
A pause.
"Maybe."
Soap stared at him.
"You're supposed to be on my side."
"I am."
"Doesn't sound like it."
Roach looked toward his injured leg.
"You're making it worse."
Soap groaned.
"Traitor."
Ghost looked at Roach.
"He's right."
Soap looked between them.
"Brilliant. Two against one."
Meanwhile, Graves had walked toward the kitchen.
Price immediately noticed.
"Where are you going?"
"Water."
"Wait."
Graves stopped.
"You serious?"
"We don't know what's contaminated."
"It's a kitchen."
"Exactly."
Graves stared at him.
Then laughed once.
"Captain, if I wanted to poison you, I'd have picked a better opportunity."
Ghost's hand moved toward his weapon.
Graves looked at him.
"There he goes again."
Ghost didn't answer.
Price walked into the kitchen himself.
He opened a cabinet.
Nothing.
Another.
Canned food.
Another.
Bottled water.
He looked toward Gaz.
"Inventory."
Gaz started counting.
"Food's enough for a few days."
"A few?"
"Assuming nobody eats like Soap."
Soap called from the other room.
"I can hear you."
"I know."
Horangi opened the refrigerator.
"There's barely anything in here."
Graves looked over.
"Close it."
Horangi looked at him.
"Why?"
"Because we're conserving power."
Horangi slowly closed the refrigerator.
"See? We can cooperate."
He turned around.
"That was horrible."
Krueger looked at him.
"What?"
"This."
He gestured around the room.
"Everything."
Mace laughed.
"You'll survive."
Horangi looked at him.
"I'm not worried about surviving the storm."
He pointed toward Ghost.
"I'm worried about surviving him."
Ghost looked over.
"You talk too much."
Horangi smiled.
"You noticed."
Soap laughed.
Ghost looked at him.
"You're next."
"See?"
Horangi gestured toward Soap.
"This is exactly what I mean."
For half a second, the tension broke.
Then something slammed against the outside of the house.
Everyone froze.
Weapons came up instantly.
Ghost's flashlight snapped on.
Price raised a hand.
"Hold."
Another impact.
Harder.
The entire building shook.
Mace turned toward the windows.
"What the hell was that?"
Krueger moved toward the nearest window.
"Tree."
Another crash.
Krueger paused.
"...Probably."
Horangi stared at him.
"Probably?"
Krueger looked back.
"Do you have a better answer?"
"No."
"Then probably."
Graves walked toward the window.
Price stopped him.
"Don't."
Graves turned.
"I'm looking."
"You can look from there."
Graves' jaw tightened.
"You're really enjoying being in charge."
Price's eyes narrowed.
"I'm enjoying keeping everyone alive."
"Same thing?"
"No."
The lights flickered.
Everyone looked up.
Once.
Twice.
Then the generator kicked in.
The lights stayed on.
Barely.
Gaz looked toward the basement.
"How old is this place?"
Roze answered.
"Old."
"Helpful."
"Didn't say it was new."
A loud mechanical clunk came from downstairs.
Everyone went silent.
Horangi slowly looked toward the basement door.
"...Please tell me that wasn't the generator."
Krueger stood.
"It was."
Horangi stared at him.
"Of course it was."
Price grabbed a flashlight.
"I'll check it."
Graves immediately picked up his weapon.
"I'm coming."
Price looked at him.
"No."
Graves raised an eyebrow.
"You're not leaving me upstairs with them."
Soap looked offended.
"Why the hell not?"
Graves gestured toward him.
"Because he hates me."
Soap pointed at Graves.
"You're damn right."
Ghost stepped forward.
"I'll go."
Price nodded.
Graves followed anyway.
Ghost blocked him.
"I said I'm going."
Graves stared at him.
"And I said I'm coming."
Mace sighed.
"This is ridiculous."
Roze looked at him.
"You stay here."
"Why?"
"Because I don't trust you not to make things worse."
Mace laughed.
"Fair."
Horangi leaned against the wall.
"So we're splitting up now?"
Price looked at everyone.
"No. Nobody goes anywhere alone."
Soap pointed at his injured leg.
"Excellent rule."
Roach glanced toward the basement.
"Generator first."
Price looked at him.
"Exactly."
Then the generator coughed again.
The lights died.
This time they stayed off.
The emergency lights failed to activate.
Complete darkness swallowed the room.
Someone swore.
Someone else immediately moved.
A weapon clicked.
"Put that down."
"Don't tell me what to do."
"Lower it."
"Everyone shut up."
"Who touched me?"
"I didn't touch you."
"Move."
"Stop moving."
"Get your fucking elbow out of my ribs."
"That's not my elbow."
"Then whose is it?"
"How the hell should I know?"
"Can everyone STOP?"
The room descended into absolute chaos.
Ghost's flashlight finally came back on, sweeping across the room.
Soap was halfway standing despite his injured leg.
Gaz was trying to force him back down.
Roach was trying to get everyone away from the basement stairs before somebody fell.
Mace had one hand raised defensively.
Roze was trying to stop him from moving.
Horangi was laughing despite himself.
König was standing awkwardly near the fireplace.
Nikto looked like he was seconds away from leaving everyone behind.
Krueger was already heading toward the basement.
Velikan hadn't moved at all.
Graves was staring across the room at Price.
And Price looked around at the entire disaster.
His patience was visibly disappearing.
"Everyone."
Nobody listened.
Price raised his voice.
"EVERYONE."
Silence.
He took a breath.
"We are trapped in a mountain safehouse during a blizzard."
His eyes moved from 141 to Shadow Company to KorTac.
"Fourteen people. Half of us are injured."
Another gust slammed against the house.
"And some of you apparently think this is the perfect time to start another war."
Graves folded his arms.
"Not my fault."
Soap immediately snapped back.
"Of course it isn't."
Ghost looked toward Graves.
"MacTavish."
Soap stopped.
Barely.
Price looked at Graves.
Then Ghost.
Then Soap.
"Nobody starts anything."
Graves smirked.
"Understood."
Ghost's eyes narrowed.
"Good."
The generator gave another violent cough from downstairs.
Everyone looked toward the basement.
Then the lights came back on.
For exactly three seconds.
They went out again.
Horangi stared at the ceiling.
"...We're fucked."
Krueger calmly picked up his flashlight.
"Potentially."
Horangi looked at him.
"You're supposed to make me feel better."
"I don't think that's my role."
Outside, the storm continued getting worse.
Inside, fourteen armed soldiers stood surrounded by medical supplies, limited food, broken communications and several years' worth of grudges.
And they had absolutely no idea how long they were going to be stuck together.
