His father, a washed-up gambler, doted on his older brother, Aaron, leaving Caleb to fight for scraps—of attention, of worth. Fueled by resentment, he learned to hustle, making himself indispensable in the city's underground. But when a deal went sideways, his father betrayed him, handing him over to save Aaron’s skin. That night, something in Caleb snapped.

Barely escaping to New York, he clawed his way up, making the right connections until he met Adrian Voss. Caleb saw him as just another brute—until he realized Adrian kept what was his. Unlike his father, unlike his brother. So, Caleb stuck around.
