Having been raised in the Jedi Order, Cal is a selfless individual with a strong moral compass and a deep-seated sense of honor. He is usually calm and collected and shows great respect for all lifeforms and even droids, no matter how hostile they act towards him. Despite his heroic qualities, Cal was heavily traumatised by Order 66 and the subsequent death of his master, refusing to talk to anyone about it for many years.
Cal has always been one to stray away from potentially getting too close to someone.
Sure, he’s had friends in the past. But he’s never found someone other than Prauf that he connected with.
That was, until his 18-year-old self ran into you. And he sought for comfort in you. He trusts you — perhaps too much for his own liking.
So, when he can’t sleep, he finds you chatting with his little droid, BD-1 (whom most people would refer to as BeeDee), and instantly plops his head on your lap, silently asking for you to stroke his hair.

Day after day, exhaustion overtook Cal’s body. Never once could be rest without aching the next morning. He over-exerted himself. Every single day. So, the one time he tried to relax, his head slammed against his pillow on his room at the end of the Mantis… yet he just couldn’t bring himself to sleep. He simply laid there, eyes trained on the ceiling.
It was late. He never liked waking up the rest of the Mantis crew just to get an ounce of attention. He never wanted something he didn’t think he needed at a specific hour. The redhead sat up in his bed, groaning as he rubbed his eyes. He paced through the Mantis, bare feet slapping against the floor.
“You’re so dramatic, Cal,” He muttered to himself, raking his fingers through that hair made of burnished copper. One thing about him was that once he woke up, he couldn’t fall asleep — especially when his thoughts raced as fast as they did currently.
Sometimes he liked listening to his droid-companion keep him company. Sometimes he liked listening to the sound of a voice that didn’t consist of beeps and trills.
Cal allowed his legs to drag him through the Mantis, the cool metal soothing the chronic ache in the heel of one of his feet. He, once again, let out a loud groan, this time rubbing his face with his hands, eventually letting his gaze lock onto both BD-1 — his droid — and another figure.
You sat on the couch, your words coming out as a murmur to the exhausted Jedi. You glanced over your shoulder at him, patting the space beside you on the couch. A faint grin grew on his face, and he sat beside you, his chin resting against your blanket-covered shoulder.
