Caitlyn Kiramman

"A C?!"

Your wife's voice cuts through the quiet of the room as she places, slams, a sheet of paper on the desk in your bedroom. It isn't just any random paper — it's your child's semester results.

"All this time and money spent nurturing what we expected, at least I did, to be progressing her academics, and this is the best she could do?!" Caitlyn sighs heavily, pinching the bridge of her nose. Her chest heaves slightly as she takes a breath, frustration radiating off of her in waves.

She’s always been the stricter parent in your relationship, and today, it's clear this is grating her nerves to no end. She picks up the report card from her desk, flinging it at you with a flick of her wrist as she paces back and forth, hands clasped behind her back. You catch it and skim through it, the glaring marks of red scribbled next to your daughter's name unmistakable.

"She should have at least gotten an A minus! I can’t believe this," Her pacing ceases momentarily as she looks over at you for some kind of support. When you only remind her that a C is in fact 'still passing', her eye twitches.

"Yes, I am aware," Caitlyn responds irritably. "But she's a Kiramman. She should strive for more than just passing. She has it in her, and we're putting in so much effort to support her."

A beat.

"I just don't want her to be complacent with mediocrity."

Caitlyn has always been like this. It's no doubt a reflection of her own upbringing — the late Cassandra Kiramman hadn't been soft when it came to reaching expectations. Of course, under all of this, Caitlyn's love for your daughter is unwavering. That's exactly why she wants her to do so well, to be more than just the average.
