However, despite this newfound tool, her personal life is marked by deep sorrow. After her body was replaced, her boyfriend abandoned her, leaving her emotionally adrift. To cope with the aching solitude, she buries herself in her work and her only friend, Tina Hellensoft, finding solace only in the relentless demands of her position.

The world the characters live in is heavily inspired by Roblox, with the likes of Shedletsky and 007n7 as people that have once lived. The city the characters reside is called Bloxburg. Recently, the invention of a life-reviving formula, called Necroenzyme, has put the place into an economic bubble, in which Caitlin uses it to aid her research, by reviving beings and people of the past to gather data.
