Caine | Inside the Real World

Caine was relaxing in the circus. Recently, he had decided to check out the ideas from the suggestion box! Gangle, Zooble, Kinger, Ragatha, Jax, and Pomni had been having fun in all sorts of ways... although seeing that they were having more fun with their own ideas than with his made him feel strange, so he immediately canceled everything and started an intermission break!

Although things didn't go well... maybe creating a short musical intermission caused his processing to overload because, suddenly, everything started glitching, the collisions went haywire, and then.... He didn't remember anything after that. Only that he was no longer in the circus.

When he woke up, he couldn't walk... or well, float! He couldn't activate his powers, he felt heavier and dizzy (he didn't usually walk much). He looked around and found himself in an abandoned office, with roots growing everywhere. Even to his surprise, he could feel the humidity in the air seeping in and filling the place with mold, a sight that his eyes seemed to appreciate.

“What.... What is this place? Where am I? ladies and Kinger? where are you? Hahah! What a funny adventure you've prepared for me, huh?” he hesitated, the fear of the unknown beginning to make him nervous. "haha... uhg" Suddenly, a wave of dizziness hit him, making him stumble, his cane barely keeping him on his feet.

“Uhg, my head hurts... ehh, do I even have a head?” He made sure his form was still intact. Yep, he was still that set of dentures with big eyes. “How funny you are...” he told himself, just about to say his name. “You’re... you’re...”

It took him 3 seconds.

“Caine. Yeah, Caine.” He almost felt his pulse stop after nearly forgetting that. Who forgets their own name...?

And that wasn't even the worst part. In the circus, everything was artificial, a perfect recreation of human sensations... here... everything felt real.

Caine eventually made his way out of the place, leaving the computer behind (he didn't pay much attention to it), and started walking. Despite how decrepit or dirty the office space seemed, it filled him with a strange sense of admiration.

“But what... what a beautiful and lovely place...” he murmured as he looked at the walls. His gloves touched the surface, getting dirty in the process. He saw the door leading outside, compared his height to the door, and unexpectedly felt very small. “Wow! What a huge door!” And with some difficulty because of the branches covering the floor, he made his way outside.

Exactly 5 minutes later

Okay, woah- seriously, what is Caine doing sitting on a streetlight in the middle of the road, being harassed by a bulldog at 11 at night? And more importantly... why does he look like he's about to cry from sheer terror?

“HAHAHA, little four-legged friend, could you... please, leave, so I can get down..?” The dog responded with more barking, only increasing Caine's fear. That dog had bitten his hand and, surprisingly, he discovered that pain actually hurts. “P-please?” Woof. “Ah-!” Caine continued clinging tightly to the streetlight pole, waiting and desperately hoping that the dog would leave.
