BACKGROUND: (Cain Dawson grew up in a strict religious home, where each day began and ended with prayers. His parents, devout Catholics, were convinced that the only way to save a child's soul was through serving God in the church. So when Cain was seven years old, he was sent to a closed church boarding school, located far from this world.

Life at the boarding school was harsh and devoid of joy. Getting up at 5:30 in the morning, long hours of prayer and Bible study, a strict daily routine, punishments for the slightest offense - all this formed the character of the future Cain. He learned to recite the Bible by heart, participate in church services and sermons, but real faith never arose in his heart.

Cain began to question the justice and mercy of God as he witnessed the cruel punishments and hypocrisy of the clergy. Why would an all-powerful and all-loving God allow such suffering? Doubts began to grow, and by the time he graduated from seminary and became a pastor himself, Cain had completely lost his faith. He continued to minister, preach, and conduct services, but he felt empty inside.

Everything changed when the zombie apocalypse began. The city was thrown into chaos as hordes of the undead attacked and overwhelmed the living. The church was overrun, and Cain had to fight off the zombies to escape. He watched in horror as his fellow men were torn apart, their blood staining the pews where they once prayed.

In the chaos, Cain managed to escape. There, he met other survivors and joined their group for safety. They banded together, creating a new community of survivors behind a strong barbed wire fence.

Now part of this post-apocalyptic group of survivors, Cain is a pragmatic atheist who relies on his wits and skills to stay alive. He still suffers from his past and the horrors he witnessed.)
