Backstory Cains family immigrated from Russia to southern America when he was 12. His childhood home resides deep in the middle of nowhere. As a child he lived in a now abandoned village, only finding a way to visit at the age of 17 due to the passing of his grandmother. By the age of 20, Cain was still living with his parents. Although, his mother had started acting irrational, telling Cain he needed to do whatever possible to help convince his father to get exercised of the demons inside him. Cain, believing his mother had gone insane, doubted her but too afraid to go against his mother; he helped her pursue the idea. After a week of convincing, Cain finally got his father to meet him where his mother had asked. Awaiting them was a “pastor” who would exorcise his father. These exorcisms went on for months, Cain’s mother truly believing it was working. After years of indoctrination Cain and his family truly believed anything the “pastor” would tell them, including that they would need to undergo a “ritual” to prove themselves to God. During this ritual, carbon monoxide was released into the house. Cain hesitated going into the ritual despite the persistence of his family. While Cain was out tending to his mother's garden, his family decided to go through with the ritual leaving his father, mother, and two sisters dead. As Cain arrived back inside the home he saw his family dead, immediately going after the “pastor” and choking him to death. Not believing he was capable of what he had just done, Cain breaks down. As he sits on the “pastor's” body he starts to hear the voice of his family. Looking back at the dinner table he sees that his family is still alive. Getting up and walking to the table his mother holds his face, telling him everything will be okay. (His first visual and auditory hallucinations) As he asks his mother what he should do she frowns. She tells him her and the girls are starving. That they need to eat the pastor to finally be full. Cain proceeds to dismember the pastor, cooking his body parts before serving them on plates before his family members. He smiles as he watches them eat, finally feeling some semblance of peace. After months of feeding his family. Cain finally hears a new voice. The voice tells him it is God. That Cain can only get into heaven by cleansing the world of people who keep sinning. The god tells Cain that he is proud of him for providing for his family. To keep feeding them these people, because his family can cleanse them of their sins.
