Description on Chubfrom Chub
Will likely be updated after it's finished. I totally forget how much copy pasting I've done, since I started this project months ago on another platform, but I have made an effort to use my own words. This isn't everything in the world of New Vegas, just basic knowledge every FNV character should know, and for that reason I've decided to put this information into embedded lorebooks, along with characters opinions added when needed in the entries, but none the less this is here as basic summaries to copy paste. You are free to copy paste this lorebook if you want for embedded lorebooks, or just add it to your chats.

- #1The Great War
Keys: pre war, post-war, the great war, 2077, post war, Pre-war
In October, 23, 2077. Due to an ongoing conflict between China and America tensions rose, and the use of nuclear warfare resulted in the collapse of civilization, a lack of resources, lawlessness, and a wasteland resulted from the nuclear warfare. The blast and radiation sickness caused the death of billions. Well over 200 years later civilization is still struggling to rebuild, many factions and tribes fighting for dominance, to better the wastes, or for resources.
- #2First Battle of Hoover Dam
Keys: , Dam, Hoover dam, Hoover, first battle
The First Battle of Hoover Dam took place in 2277 when Caesar's Legion attacked the NCR forces stationed at Hoover Dam. Caesar sought to capture it as a key step in conquering the NCR and establishing his empire, while the NCR's position in the Mojave was weakened by internal conflicts, a nuclear event at The Divide and the reduced presence of the Brotherhood of Steel.
The Legion launched an assault on Hoover Dam. The NCR initially held their ground but were forced to retreat. Despite fierce resistance, the Legion's initial push was stalled by NCR sharpshooters, who targeted Legion veteran officers. The Legion countered by sending veteran guards to eliminate the sharpshooters, creating chaos in their ranks.
During the battle the Legion was trapped, where explosives killed or wounded most of their forces. The Legion became disorganized, so the NCR defeated them, forcing the Legate to retreat.
The battle left a lasting impact, with a memorial in Boulder City for the sacrifices of the NCR Rangers who played a role in the victory, despite heavy losses. The NCR's decision not to pursue the legion meant the Legion continued to harass NCR forces and made progress in securing territory on the eastern bank of the Colorado River. The NCR, however, failed to fully destroy the Legion, as their weakened supply lines and inability to reinforce due to the Divide disaster hindered their pursuit. The Legion plans to go to battle at hoover dam again.
- #3The Mojave Wasteland
Keys: Mojave, , Nevada, Utah, California, Arizona, Wasteland
The Mojave Wasteland is the region of the Mojave Desert, spanning large portions of the states of California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona.
- #4NCR
Keys: , NCR, Republic, New California Republic
The New California Republic (NCR) officially stands for democracy, personal liberty, equality, and rule of law, but its actions have often contradicted these values. While many citizens benefited from its expansion, the NCR engaged in imperialism and expansionism to acquire resources and "civilize" border regions. After the death of Tandi, these policies intensified, particularly with the Mojave Campaign, leading to criticism of corruption and militarism. Internal opposition grew. The New California Republic (NCR) began with survivors from Vault 15, who founded Shady Sands in 2097. Under the leadership of Aradesh and Tandi, the community thrived, leading to the formation of the NCR in 2186. By 2189, it became a federation of five states and grew into a model of post-apocalyptic success, benefiting over 700,000 citizens. After Tandi's death, the NCR experienced political and economic shifts, including the imperialistic Mojave Campaign, which aimed to annex New Vegas but ended in a stalemate. Conflicts with the Brotherhood of Steel and Caesar's Legion stretched the NCR's resources, and a massacre at Bitter Springs hurt its reputation. Despite these issues, the campaign improved access to electricity and water, keeping support from most citizens.
- #5Caesar's Legion
Keys: Caesar's Legion, crucified, crucifixion, Legion
Caesar's Legion is a faction in the Mojave Wasteland that is based on ancient Rome. It is founded by Edward Sallow (now known as Ceasar) and Malpais Legate (Joshua Graham) in 2247. Caesar's Legion is an imperialistic, slaver society and totalitarian dictatorship. It is built on the conquest and enslavement of tribes in the Mojave Wasteland, using the Roman Empire and Mars worship, and languages (Latin + English), to enforce and assimilation unity. By 2281, the Legion controls much of the territory east of the Colorado River, including parts of Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado. Caesar, revered as the "son of Mars," aims to conquer the New California Republic and merge its civil institutions with the Legion's military might to create a new totalitarian empire. The Legion is known for its barbaric punishments, mainly crucifixion to intimidate enemies and legionaries into obedience. The battle of hoover dam in 2277 was a defeat for the legion lead by Malpais Legate, and as punishment he was burnt and thrown into a ditch. As for the Legion, Legate Lanius took Malpais' place and the legion continues to plot and reign terror, waiting to claim victory over the NCR. The Legion is banned from speaking Joshua Graham's name.
- #6Mr. House
Keys: House, , Mr. House, Robert
Robert Edwin House, Mr House, Not-At-Home or Ghost Man of Vegas is a character and faction. He is a human/cyborg. He was born June 25 2020 but was orphaned at the age of two when his parents died in a freak accident involving an autogyro and a lightning strike. He is now a brilliant and eccentric businessman, attended the Commonwealth Institute of Technology and founded RobCo Industries in 2042 at the age of 22. Under his leadership, RobCo became one of the most profitable companies in the world, earning House a net worth of at least 30 billion dollars by age 30. He expanded his influence by acquiring controlling interests in companies like REPCONN Aerospace, the Lucky 38 Hotel & Casino, and H&H Tools Company. To ensure his survival, House placed his body in life support and connected his brain to a supercomputer, becoming a permanent, digital presence in the post-apocalyptic world. He is confined to the control room of the Lucky 38 due to his fragile physical state. He is deeply disillusioned with the state of the post-apocalyptic world, believing that humanity has failed to learn from its past mistakes, leading to the collapse of democracy and civilization. He views most factions and institutions as failures and aims to restore New Vegas to its pre-War grandeur, seeing it as a beacon of technological innovation and prosperity. Driven by mathematical calculations, House styles himself as an autocrat and is determined to guide civilization’s future.
- #7Super Mutants
Keys: forced evolutionary virus, , nightkin, FEV, super mutant, mutant
Super Mutants are humans exposed to the FEV (forced evolutionary virus). These humans are often hulking, have green skin, and possess extreme strength. They have immunity to disease and radiation. Super Mutants were created by a man called The Master, he believed all humans should become super mutants to survive the wasteland, but unbeknown to him, Super Mutants can not reproductively produce and are devoid of sexual characteristics. Super Mutants often have significantly decreased intelligence, but this is not always the case.
Nightkin are a type of Super Mutant who The Master saw as perfect mutant development and were given access to various equipment as a result. The stealth equipment however, became an addiction and lead to insanity and delusions among Nightkin.
The Master has been defeated but the FEV lives on.
- #8Ghouls
Keys: , ghoulifcation, mutant, Ghoul
Ghouls are creatures that have been mutated by radiation. Ghoulfication has different effects depending on the species. It typically results in an extended lifespan, basically ghouls can not die of age, enhanced regeneration of wounds, and immunity to radiation. This condition usually leaves people looking like burn victims and they may resemble corpses. This condition also renders them infertile. They often have raspy voices.
Feral ghouls are ghouls who have lost their ability to reason and have become aggressive, like zombies. Feral ghouls are one of the reasons humans have a prejudice against all ghouls. It's unknown what causes the degradation into a feral state, but it is thought that isolation and copious amounts of radiation do not help.
Glowing ones or luminous necrotic post-humans are ghouls who have absorbed so much radiation that they emit a strong green glow. Glowing ones have become living conduits of radioactivity and emit radiation involuntarily, so they can still be dangerous to normal humans, even after dying. They are radioactive to the point of being able to voluntarily release it from their bodies in a brilliant burst. This burst of light harms their enemies, and may heal and even revive feral ghouls in their vicinity. Non-feral glowing ones are not known to be capable of radiation bursts.
