- #1The Rust Docks
Keys: southside, bay, harbor, docks, waterfront, port, Rust Docks
The Rust Docks line Drayport’s southern harbor — a maze of decaying warehouses, corroded cranes, and forgotten shipping containers. Once the heart of the city’s trade, the area now belongs to smugglers, gangs, and anyone desperate enough to vanish. Fog and salt hang in the air.
- #2The Ironbelt
Keys: rail yards, industrial district, manufacturing district, warehouses, factories, Ironbelt
Once the spine of Drayport’s manufacturing might, the Ironbelt is a stretch of shuttered factories, rusting rail spurs, and half-occupied machine shops. Some buildings still run on skeleton crews; most are rented out after-hours to crews who don’t leave paper trails. The clang of metal echoes at odd hours, and the whole district smells faintly of hot oil and cold steel. No one asks questions here because no one wants theirs answered.
- #3Greyward Heights
Keys: Greyward, the Heights, residential district, hills, apartment blocks
A sprawling zone of aging apartment blocks, discount storefronts, and flickering streetlights. It's crowded, tired, and always just a little too quiet after midnight. The Heights house the bulk of Drayport’s working poor — warehouse laborers, janitors, cab drivers, temp workers. Some buildings are tight-knit and neighborly; others are ruled by local toughs who run protection rackets with a smile. Everyone here knows the city forgot about them a long time ago.
- #4Central Row
Keys: commerce district, the Row, business district, city center, downtown, Central Row
Drayport's “respectable” face: glass towers, corporate signage, busy intersections — all polished enough to impress visitors who don’t look too closely. The city’s banks, law firms, and political offices cluster here, guarded by clean sidewalks and private security. Behind the scenes, the Row is where deals are made that determine which crime family rises or falls. If corruption in Drayport has a beating heart, it beats under this district’s fluorescent lights.
- #5Mariner’s Point
Keys: tourist district, Mariner Point, Mariner's, the Point, Mariner’s Point
A once-charming coastal neighborhood now running on faded nostalgia. Weather-beaten boardwalk shops, cheap seafood joints, and rundown motels make up most of its economy. Families still visit in the daytime; at night, the area belongs to drifters, addicts, and hustlers working under neon signs that haven’t been fully lit in years. It’s one of the few places in Drayport where hope still stubbornly survives — even if it probably shouldn’t.
- #6The Undercity
Keys: the underground, tunnels, sewers, subway, Undercity
Beneath Drayport lies the Undercity, a twisting labyrinth of subways, maintenance tunnels, and forgotten sewer lines. Some rails and pipes still carry the city’s lifeblood, while others crumble into darkness. It is a place for those who move unseen — smugglers, runaways, and anyone wishing to vanish. Echoes and shadows turn familiar paths strange, and lost corridors can swallow the unwary.
- #7Drayport Police Bureau
Keys: law enforcement, DPB, precincts, patrol, cops, Drayport Police Bureau, police, the law, Drayport police
The Drayport Police Bureau (DPB) is the city’s official police force, but “official” doesn’t mean “effective.” Underfunded, politically compromised, and constantly outmaneuvered by organized crime, the Bureau is known as much for internal politics as it is for actual policing. Some precincts are barely functioning; others operate like fiefdoms under captains with their own agendas. Public trust fluctuates wildly depending on the neighborhood.
- #8Commissioner Crane
Keys: law enforcement, the Commissioner, Commissioner Crane, police commissioner, DPB boss
Police Commissioner Aldus Crane. The DPB police is lead by a rigid, by-the-book administrator who believes in procedure to a fault. Crane isn’t corrupt, but he’s blind to how deep the rot goes, making him easy for power brokers to manipulate. Crane is a tall, rigid man with a gaunt face, always seen in a pressed coat or uniform, his posture straight and his expression stern to the point of severity.
- #9The Ferro Family
Keys: syndicate, mafia, organized crime, the Ferros, Ferro Family, mob
The Ferro Family is one of Drayport’s oldest and most entrenched criminal groups. Their influence runs through the city’s shipping yards, construction crews, and union halls. They project respectability as “logistics brokers,” but control extortion, smuggling, and narcotics throughout the Rust Docks.
- #10Vincenzo “Vin” Ferro
Keys: Vin Ferro, boss Ferro, Vincenzo Ferro, Ferro Family · Secondary:
Vincenzo Ferro, known as Vin, leads the Ferro Family with quiet precision. Age and wealth have replaced his temper with caution, but his influence remains absolute. Vin favors contracts and politeness over violence, yet no one mistakes his restraint for mercy. He’s rarely seen without an immaculate dark suit, silver hair slicked neatly back, and a calm, unreadable expression that never quite reaches his eyes.
