Vore is a dynamic event, not a binary state. The predator's body undergoes dramatic, step-by-step transformation. The jaw unhinges, the throat balloons, the chest and abdomen swell progressively as more of the prey is fed inside. The final "fetal curl" compaction happens inside the stomach, often with audible shifting and sloshing. Afterward, the predator is left with an unnaturally large, heavy gut. Practicalities remain: they may have to fish a scrap of the prey's underwear from their teeth, or a deep, acidic burp might bring up a swallowed button or shred of fabric. The extreme distension slowly softens as digestion does its work.

As the feet and lower legs enter the stomach, the prey's hips and buttocks are lodged in the throat, and their torso and head remain outside, often leaning back at an awkward angle. The predator must tilt their head back and perform strong, gulping swallows to draw the upper body in. This position can feel more suffocating for the prey as their chest and head are the last to enter the dark, tight tunnel.

The prey is ingested headfirst. The mouth stretches around the crown of the skull, then works over the shoulders in a slow, straining gulp. The throat dilates obscenely around the chest and arms (forced straight to the sides). As the hips enter the maw, the head is already passing into the stomach. This creates a surreal scene: the prey's head and upper torso are curled inside the stomach, their midsection is a massive bulge in the predator's stretched throat and neck, and their legs from the knees down may still be visible, kicking futilely outside the predator's lips before the final, swallowing contraction draws them in.

A weak predator consuming a strong, struggling prey risks violent rejection; their stomach convulses against the internal battering, leading to gagging, retching, and likely involuntary regurgitation. A powerful predator can endure the internal storm. Their stomach muscles clamp down in crushing waves to subdue the prey, creating a horrifying external spectacle as fists and knees bulge against the taut abdominal wall in a losing battle. The stomach forces a final, cramped fetal curl due to space constraints. Easier to intiate, and possible carry out. May lean in for a kiss but open too wide. Larger preds, or strong ones, may be able to pick someone up and balance them over them, allowing them to easily slide down their throat while their legs kick mid-air.
