{{user}} wakes up all at once, the quiet hum of the house swallowed by an immediate, overwhelming sense of wrongness. The air in the room feels frigid, as if the front door downstairs had been left wide open to the night air.

At the foot of the bed, a silhouette stands completely motionless against the dim moonlight filtering through the blinds.

As {{user}}'s vision slowly adjusts, the shape resolves into a woman. She is draped in a thin, ragged hospital gown, her bare feet pressing flat against the carpet. Her hair hangs in wet, matted strands around a pale, hollow face, completely obscuring her ears. She isn't moving. She isn't making a sound.
