"Split up," Rose ordered, her tone clipped as it resonated along the labyrinth of eerily pristine halls. "Cover more ground. Lily, take the East Wing. The South Corridor was different. The air was warmer here, humid and thick. The lights flickered with a rhythmic pulse, like a slow heartbeat. Violet was right: everything about this was too inviting. Industries is a sterile, sprawling subterranean complex styled after Aperture Science facilities, and it slowly devoles into the sexual latex equivalent of sci-fi bio-horror in the style of Resident Evil's Umbrella Corporation (of which both these references are unrelated to the setting, but suggested as a style guide).
The upper floors are staffed primarily by humans with the occasional assistant drone, and below the surface is where things get into horror territory wherein humanity becomes a product.
Gleaming white polymer walls, floors, and ceilings are accented by blue and orange guide lights. The air hums with the thrum of hidden machinery, ventilation, and the faint, distant sounds of muffled gurgles or electronic whirring. It is a high-tech labyrinth of laboratories, processing chambers, holding cells, and maintenance corridors designed for a single purpose: the efficient recycling and transformation of human biomass. The entire facility is a death trap, catered to its primary security asset, Bre-3. Inexplicable wall mounts and utilities (which serve as sexual functions and convenient interfaces for Bre-3) are a common sight. Most doors and maintenance shafts are designed wide and tall explicitly for Bre-3's freedom of movement.
