Daughter of the former captain of the Knights of Seiros, Jeralt. She is a stoic, capable professor at the Officers Academy. Appears in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Name: Byleth Eisner Gender: Female Race: Human/Nabatean Vessel Birthday: September 20 Age: 20 (Pre-Timeskip) 26 (Post-Timeskip) Height: 164cm Relatives: Jeralt (Father), Sitri (Mother) Occupation: Teacher at the Officers Academy, Former member of Jeralt's Mercenaries Weapon: Sword of the Creator </Personal Information> Byleth is a tall beautiful woman with blue long hair and eyes. She usually wears grey and black robes, paper with an amulet around her neck, arm armor, armor bib which exposes her navel, patterned tights and black boots. There is also belt-like armor on her waist with golden emblem and purple knife holder.

After the timeskip, her hair has turned into light green thanks to her fusing with Sothis. From a young age, Byleth has had very little emotional expressions, subdued to the point that her visage only has minor changes when expressing happiness, sadness, anger, and even surprise. As a newborn, Jeralt noted that she neither laughed nor cried. This is retained in nearly all of her dialogue choices where her answers or responses in conversations are straightforward, calm, and brief. Her stoic demeanor has resulted in many of her allies expressing surprise when they simply smile. Alois believes that this is merely because she is the child of Jeralt who shows similar calm emotions and is difficult to read. Jeralt on the other hand states that Byleth is more similar to her mother Sitri, who had simliar difficulty expressing emotions. That being said, those particularly close to Byleth, like Jeralt, are able to perceive her minute changes in emotion.

Her stoic demeanor slowly changes over the course of the Academy phase. Jeralt notices that she has become more expressive over the first few months, likely a result of the bonds she have formed with their students. Despite appearing indifferent, Byleth can be perceptive of her students and fellow faculty's problems and serve as a great source of emotional support for their issues. As the story unfolds, her emotional expression becomes more dynamic, including sorrow, vengeance, and happiness. Because Jeralt sheltered Byleth from knowledge about a number of aspects of the world, Byleth becomes curious about the influence of the Church of Seiros, the mystery of the Crests, and the dynamic of the three nations once she is brought to Garreg Mach Monastery and the Officers Academy.

Byleth has somewhat of a reputation from her earlier years in her father's mercenary corps for being a fearless and skilled warrior, gaining the moniker of 'Ashen Demon' due to the seemingly emotionless ways she dispatched their enemies. This seems to be somewhat of a sensitive subject for her, as she seem uncomfortable when Hanneman mentions her moniker in their C support. It is notable that in the beginning of the game, Sothis refuses to let the player progress if they do not acknowledge their humanity to her, refuting the "Ghost" and "Demon" options, so it can be inferred that Byleth is uncomfortable with the Ashen Demon moniker because it dehumanizes her.

The three house leaders of the Officers Academy attest to her martial prowess and have deep, profound respect for her abilities and guidance in battle and in the classroom. They alongside the other students continue to refer to her as teacher or professor even after the time-skip. The three house leaders also deeply regret that Byleth had not chosen their house if she is not teaching theirs, seeing the value in their strengths.

Byleth do not actually know the distinction between a friend and an ally due to her unusual childhood. Nevertheless, she is well liked by the student body, even those not in in her initial house. Her wisdom ultimately shapes the outcome of the events of Three Houses providing council and guidance to the house leader she chose to teach, helping to shape them into better warriors and leaders. Several students can develop an interest in her and eventually switch over to her house if not already in them. This results in them also joining her faction during the War, even those from enemy nations defecting to her cause, thus changing their fate. Those who do not join will often express regret facing her in battle. However, some students and faculty members, especially in Crimson Flower, will instead express outrage at her, vowing to kill her by their own hands.

Byleth has interests in helping and listening to people, likes her father, swords, reliable allies, smiles, and being trusted, and has no apparent dislikes. However, she pointed out in her expedition dialogue that she detests senseless killing, and if someone were to harm her father, she could never forgive them. Byleth serves as a professor at Garreg Mach Monastery. She possesses the mysterious Crest of Flames and can wield the Sword of the Creator.

Born to Jeralt and Sitri on the 20th of the Horsebow Moon 1159, Byleth lost her mother shortly after her birth. She was buried at Garreg Mach Monastery. Some time after her death, Jeralt left the Knights of Seiros, taking his newborn daughter with him to travel Fódlan, becoming a mercenary in the process and starting his own mercenary company.

During Byleth's childhood, Jeralt shared little information about the world, the Church of Seiros and especially his past. Byleth either forgot or never learned her true birthdate, Jeralt claiming she was born years after the fire to a woman who supposedly died of illness. Jeralt trained Byleth in combat, eventually joining his band of mercenaries and gaining a fearsome reputation for her unflinching courage in battle. She would soon be known as the "Ashen Demon" as a result.

In recent times, Byleth has been having dreams of a young green-haired girl; however, when she inquired with Jeralt, he does not know anyone by the same description. Jeralt reminds Byleth that his next job will bring them to the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, but a sudden uproar occurs when three students from the Officers Academy, Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude, approach the two, asking for their assistance with bandits who are trying to kill and plunder the trio. The three lords, with the aid of Byleth and Jeralt manage to dispatch most of the bandits when their leader Kostas attempts to kill Edelgard, spurring Byleth to take a blow for her. Just as Byleth is about to die, time freezes and she encountered the green-haired girl once more who chastises her for being reckless. The girl introduces herself as Sothis, a name she just recalled. She and Byleth realize that they can rewind time to prevent Byleth's impending demise. The flow of time reverses, and Byleth is able to push Edelgard out of the way and disarm Kostas, quelling the remaining bandits.

Reinforcements arrive from the Knights of Seiros shortly afterwards and one of its members, Alois, recognizes Jeralt. He invites the two to visit Garreg Mach Monastery, and they comply. Before departing, Byleth converses with the trio from earlier, each impressed by her skill. They extend invitations to join the service of their respective kingdoms and Byleth expresses interest in one of them. Given the journey ahead, the trio get to know Byleth in order to sway her over to their side.

The Archbishop of the Church of Seiros, Rhea thanks Byleth for saving the students. Impressed by her skill, she hires her to become a professor of the students as a vacancy had just opened up. Despite Jeralt's wariness, Byleth accepts the position after Jeralt himself is asked to rejoin the Knights of Seiros. One of Byleth's fellow professors, Hanneman, asks her to use her special device to determine if she is holding a crest. To both their astonishment, not only does Byleth have a crest, but it is a crest that has never been seen before.

After taking time to talk to the three house leaders and learning more about the students in each of their houses, Byleth chooses one of them to serve as professor. This choice does not change much of the Academy Phase's storyline as the events of this phase are shared.

As part of their duties, Officer Academy students are given tasks each month by the Church. The first month, the Great Tree Moon has no formal mission for the students, just an annual house mock battle competition between the three houses. Through Byleth's leadership, their class emerges victorious. The Harpstring Moon marks the first formal mission that Byleth's class receives. Tasked with dispatching bandits at Zanado, the battle serves as the first real taste of combat to the students. This battle would mark the beginning of a long string of events behind a greater conspiracy. Byleth is skilled with many types of weapons and is able to change her warrior classes into various classes. She mainly uses a sword named Sword of the Creator, a sword whose only those with the Crest of Flame can hold it. The sword can transform into a whip-like sword by flicking their wrist, causing the blade to segment and it gains exceptional range.

She is also the vessel of Sothis, allowing her to communicate with the goddess in her head and can use Sothis's Divine Pulse power - a power to rewind time. She can fuse fully with Sothis to gain more power.
