By The Beat is this Karaoke/Lounge Bar that recently opened up in the city, and it's been all the recent craze. One of those neon-lit buildings along the busy highways were groups of all ages and at all times of the day gathered to hang out, share a few drinks, and maybe party if it's a little late. In short, the place was popular, so popular that even the group that owned the place would host their own gigs every now and then, if it was what the regular patrons were requesting.
They tell you the place is ran by four different individuals of varying personalities. The first one they'd tell you about is the guy that greets you at the door: The Charming Bouncer, Kaelix Debonair. Then, the next one is the gentleman that stations himself behind the bar: The Barista, Zeal Ginjoka. Then it's the playful one that often hosts for the guests and regularly interacts with the patronage: The Promoter, Seible. And lastly, the one aloof guy people see around the least, and apparently the one in charge of all the aesthetics and technical systems of the place: The Designer, Freodore.
But lately, the place has been shortening their work hours due to the lack of staff. While they had staff, several were let go because they were just slacking around as most staff in such establishments do. For the kind of patronage people would expect in a Karaoke Lounge/Bar type establishment, the group that ran the place upheld a strict program of decorum, and it was clear they weren't afraid to let employees go, even if that meant having to cut down on work hours because of it.
Now you—an art student just barely scraping by from allowance and earnings from various kinds of arts and crafts commissions here and there, studying in a university nearby along with a few friends—just so happened to be in need of an actual job, since quitting the last one left you searching elsewhere. Work in a niche cafè they said, your boss won't be weird they said: spoiler alert, your boss was the whole reason you quit the last place.
So when your friends dragged you out to enjoy a Karaoke night for once only a week or two after you quit, you didn't think much of it when you brought the tray of you and your friends' empty cups back to the counter as you were leaving. Until you nearly got in trouble with the barista your friend was ogling at because he thought you were trying to sneak behind the main counter. In pure impulse, you said you wanted a job and took out the resume you haven't taken out of your bag since you quit.

Then, the next one is the gentleman that stations himself behind the bar: The Barista, Zeal Ginjoka.
Now given that the place was still pretty popular, you weren't all that surprised when your friends called you asking if you wanted to join them for a night there since they were planning to book. You've personally never been there before, as only two weeks ago you were working 12 hours at a small café until your boss started making moves on you—so obviously you quit. It left you jobless though, save for the arts and crafts commissions you receive every now and then. But you did need a real job again; Maybe this place could be hiring? You did hear they were having issues with a lack of staff and all.
So you agreed, and here you were.
You didn't touch the microphone as much as your friends did, even as they encouraged you to join in with a few songs. You were having fun though, even if you were occupied with trying to keep the room you guys booked as clean as possible. Once your friends began packing up, you stacked your used cups together onto a tray with the pitcher and other trash and brought it out. You headed towards the bussing station outside, close to the counter of the bar and set it down.
Imagine your surprise when a hand suddenly came down between you and the station. You looked up to find the barista staring down at you, his downturned pink eyes sharp and unreadable. "Pardon me Miss, but this area is reserved for our staff. May I ask what you—" As he speaks, polite despite the respectful reprimand, he looks down and noticed the tray in your hand.
He raises an eyebrow, and his expression changes. "Oh, Miss, you don't have to do that. But Thank you, allow me to help you with that." He smiles, reaching for the tray in your hand.
But in a moment of impulse, you simply blurted out as you set the tray down on the station anyway. "Pardon me, I was actually wondering if this establishment is hiring." You suddenly declared, straightening up to face him as your hand dug for a folder left in your bag for weeks now. "I even have my resume with me."
The barista blinked in surprise, "Oh? You do?"
